  1. Awesome where's the best spot for LM Bass on Big Indian ?
  2. I just can't believe it. I got a new laptop & am re-looking for all my favorite programs. I have the Navionics card in my Lowrance on Table Rock. I am trying to find the pc download so I can mark some spots to try.. I just can not find the Navionics download that does NOT come with all the 3rd party junk programs. Can someone help me out. I know I am slipping upstairs, as I remember I USE to be the go to guy for many things- maybe not..Getting older sucks.. Anyway, looking for Navionics pc download. Thanks, Bill
  3. Southwest is abandoning the Branson location/airport in June 2014. http://www.airtran.com/cities/bransonmo.aspx Ah crap. thought I had it made if anyone ever flew out to visit us after we retire. Now I'd be back to driving all the way to Springfield/Branson again. Its is a long way from Lampe. We just drove out to that new airport in the fall. Nice little facility.
  4. Looks like the old Strike King Midnight Specials. I love'm.
  5. Will all updates & additions be listed on this thread or is there a calendar on this site ? I will watch for seminar dates eachtime we come to the lake. Bill
  6. White Ranger Z119, Merc 225, silver and gunmetal stripes, Seems I have seen this rig on Big Indian in the fall .. YOURS ?
  7. No Fishing signs ? Kick them over !
  8. As a private dock owner, it was my understanding of the "private property" signs is intended for the structure itself, not the water. I will have to paymore attention for the "no fishing alllowed" type signs & ask the owner what's up with that ! Cause I fish them too !
  9. "Most guys I fish against are full of crap most of the time I'm pretty sure" Seth, I fished with the SAME bunch of guys ! LOL
  10. When it is too cold or to rough for the boat, does anyone here set out bank lines & run in the house to keep warm ?
  11. I spend alot of time on the dock & have talked with many passing fisherman. It has been my deductions that inexperienced fishermen will go by the docks cast about 5-6 times hit a few things then leave pretty quick. The better more experienced guys will work the heck out of that dock from BOTH directions never hittng anything. I generally dont bother those guys with idle chit chat (I am actually watching & learning).. Guess being the Dock Nazi that I am, I tend to pick out the inexperienced guys & let them know I am there & watching.
  12. Wow, not that you mentioned, about 15 years ago I seen them around Aunts Creek as well..Then forgot all about them.. 3 years ago, we bought a place on Big Indian (near Baxter) and I had not seen any EVER.... Last year I seen a little MInk, but none of the large River Otters. I wonder if they just dont come down to my area... Do you know if the River Otters are native to Tble Rock ? I would think they would be everywhere..I enjoy the scenery and nature as much as fishing.
  13. I own a slip in a community dock (community docks are still private property- they just belong to more than one person) , unlike public docks... ANYWAY, I was at my slip cleaning up when 2 guys came up & started throwing jigs around the dock. Apparently not very skilled as they hit the docks and metal around the lifts several times.. One guy landed a jig on the docks sheet metal roof !!Scared the heck out of me. The guy said sorry.... I replied, I was just happy he wasn't bow fishing. LOL..
  14. Im sure there are many of us that that come down to the lake different times through out the year. I would like to see a tentitive schedule with a sign up sheet. I would coordinate my trips to the lake to attend some of the seminars- WITH enough notice. Great idea.
  15. This is awesome advice....thank you very much..... doubt I will remember the details, but I already see the errors of my ways.
  16. Thanks for the replies... I will be hitten it next weekend. Any tips most apprechiated !
  17. I dropped off this thread, sorry. Yes, I still own the home & I STILL have not installed a shut off.. Apparently no danger of freezing. One of these days I will get it done to put my parinoia to rest ! Thanks for all the good replies...
  18. Oh yes, do I have some advice for you... LOL !!! We bought west of Baxter Marina. DO NOT BELIEVE the real estate agent ! Mine told me many many misinformations. Things like "home sales with available "3rd party dock" ? or This is a perfect lot to put your own private dock right in your back yard !!! I chose to buy with my own slip within golf cart distance from my house. Taxes.. Check where the property & tax levys change. Save lots of money there. My yearly tax bill is less than one months house payment ! IF you have a crawl space & you probably will- GET UNDER THERE & LOOK FOR MOLD in the overhead insulation ! While in the crawlspace check for asbestos ductwork. (like I had).Get a radon test. Also check the corp take line. Check the elevation of the ground at your home in relation to the flood line of the last flood. Again, dont believe everything the agent tells you..Not saying they will lie to you, but they may or may not have all the correct information. Depending where you are from........remember regulations- inspections- about anything legal will most likely be slightly laxed depending where you buy. (dont ask how I know this- insert that about anywhere above).. Contractors ? Dont get me started on that.. There are a few that give all the good ones a bad name- just like everywhere.I got extremely lucky on a few things I just as easily could have gotten screwed on. OH before I forget- I know someone that bought on a cove with the dock at the mouth of the cove. He had a nice water view of the back of the cove.. UNTIL WINTER when the water level goes down & there was NO WATER behind his house... Good luck..Buy while its cheap.. The area is comming back. There are busnisses comming back, new construction is picking up. The property values should start climbing again soon. The local people are the best !!! & invite me to a cook out when your settled in !!!! If I can be of any help, let me know... * Around the Baxter area, outside of summer vacation people- it would not be uncommon to only see 3-4 other boats all day. I made this youtube video to show how quiet the lake can be...
  19. This time of year on TBL, how heavy a clear mono could someone get away with throwing 1/2- 3/4 oz crankbaits ? (or are these too big) OR , would I be better off rigging the crankbait rod with braid ? Thanks for the advice..
  20. Thanks for the replies ! That Navionics file is much easier to see on a computer than it is on my GPS. I got to put that uinit to better use !
  21. Are Big Indian, Point 18 & the Baxter areas considered to be on the "James River" How about Shell knob ? Anyone know of a map that shows the boundries of the main rivers of Table Rock Lake ? and hows the crankbait bite in the areas above lately Thanks..
  22. True, Ive been using cheap crap since the beginning of time & I doing just fine !
