LOL, I taught my kids to drink pickle juice before they could talk. I still drink it, dill or kosher only. Only a crazy person would drink sweet pickle juice. But then I think pickled pigs feet are a tasty treat so I can't be counted on for an opinion.

Many years ago we used to make home made ketchup and it was good, it bordered on being a bbq sauce but was the absolute best thing ever on fried green tomatoes and squash.the flavor profile can be tailored to whatever your preference is from sweet to near hot sauce. It was a PITA, and involved cooking a big pot down through the course of a day.

Johnsfolly that is a lot of sauce. Griz I have made the chowder before with white bass and it was very good.

I hear rumors of a state wide 12" MLL on spots in resevoirs. I don't really know that it would affect me at all. But if I was catching some 12 inch spots in the lake I would likley be seeing just how they taste with a little cajun seasoning or maybe spot/scampi.

Terrierman, I made some white bass chowder/soups last year and it was delicious. Chief that is very similar to what I used to make out of deep fried turkey carcasses or even leftover smoked turkey carcasses. Takes more cooking with all the bones to get the full flavor but dang good when it's done. You can go cajun with it or many different flavors always good, especially on a chilly day.

There are certain truths at play here. No matter what the rules are, or how liberal the spotted bass is in the rivers to stay, right wrong or indifferent. They appear to be extremely well adapted to that environment. It is unlikely that their populations will rise to the super destructive level of say asian carp though. Nothing any of us say is likely to change anyone mind, and each of us has their personal favorites we are champions for, personally I truly love smallies and gogglers in the rivers. Keep the liberal limits on keeping spots and know that there is going to be some abuse. There is no question that simply tossing any fish up onto the bank is illegal, would an agent write a ticket for it, probably. Could I personally do it, no I don't think I could, but that's me. Could I fish with someone who did, honestly that hinge on more than just tossing fish on the bank, but I wouldn't like it. Ah hell I went to stir the spaghetti sauce and don't remember where I was going. Just ban catching them, let the state trap them, that's the plan for feral hogs maybe it will work for the spotted bass.

I might have had to drag my wife away lest she be arrested, she might have gotten upset later but I am fairly sure she would have let loose on someone, and better them than me. I don't think I have ever taken her to purchase her a firearm, once I own them she has all the use she can handle of them. Somehow my AR and another of my rifles are sort of claimed by her in addition to at least one handgun.

Billethead I have added you to the list of people whom I am NOT going firearm shopping with. There are benefits to small LGS's, unfortunately price is usually not one of them. I am still gonna give Academy a shot to purchase my next pistol.

Yeah, they carried R15 to the front as well, I tried to get them to carry it all they way to the car but they declined. If I ever get around to buying the pistol I want there I will report how it goes.

Well I am never complaining about my ailments again. OK, assuming they knew yiu and or knew you were a "prohibited person" or whatever the terminology is, I can see the concern that it might look like a straw purchase in the making. I probably would have been a jerk and and asked if I was banned from basketball or buying shoes too.

You aren't scaring me off that easy I am willing to eat crispy worms on top. Sort of like french fried onions.

Believe it or not, I would be at the front of the line to get a bowl of it.
