Ditto what little Elk I have eaten was fabulous and no gamy flavor at all. However in the interset of science i would be will to try some more to see, just wrap a few frozen steaks in layers of newspaper and priority mail it. Heck I might even come pick it up. 😁

I certainly have nothing against less expensive firearms, but you have to expect some issues when they cut expenses. Happily many of them are an easy fix and they work.great afterwards.

So switch over to Left Handed Ping Pong too. You could be like Forrest Gump and use both hands.

Thanks Seth, I lie that sort of information as well. It definitely worked for you. There are always better/worse/different choices but it is hard to argue wih results.

Dang RPS I wish I needed it. I use LH casting reels, well when I use casting reels anyway. I just seldom use one anymore, looks like a good reel/deal for somebody.

To me it seems that Nanofil doesn't soak up water like say fireline. I try to keep.it well coated with some KVD or similar line protectant, not sure it that really makes a difference or not. I have had more issue with the end guide freezing up, but if it is REALLY cold I probably ain't out there anymore.

The only problems I ever had with Nanofil or even fireline tied directly to the jig is that it doesn't hold up well to abrasion. The mono leader withstands it much better. If I happen to break off the leader I don't hesitate I just tie direct and go on. I have caught crappie is clear water that I could see them come and hit the jig, smallies and gogglers in creeks just fine. I use either the bright green P XX or golden Stren for leaders, I long since gave up on bright viable line spooking the fish I go after and I definitely like the visability even if just for retying. As for k it's I found that a quick haphazardly tied one that heLD fine on fireline would cut/break on Nanofil, takes a more careful tie at least for me.

I normally ease off the drag on my reels since braI'd doesn't stretch. Every hook set get a rrrttt of drag slipping. I don't know that I could break 12# Nanofil on a hook set if I had to. When I was tying Nanofil direct to a jig I used something called a fishing fool knot, worked well.

I fished last spring and most of the fall with 1/32 Oz jigs crappie fishing, Nanofil on my reels with no problem. When it got real windy I would have to switch to a 16th Oz jig but that wasn't because it wouldn't cast.

I have been hit by a stun gun and sprayed with OC. Personally I would much rather be tased, hurts like hell, will stop you if it is done right but you recover quickly. Good OC is pure evil, it burns like hell. Have seen multiple sprayed, and instructed its use. There are people who can shake it off and keep going but fortunately they are few and far between. What I am familiar with is a 10% spray. It supposedly doesn't burn any worse than the 1% stuff but the effects last longer. You even get a another dose of it later when you take a shower. Streams, foams, fogger/cone all have their strong and weak points. Foam sticks better but doesn't work as well on a dog or someone with glasses also they can wipe it off and throw it on you, stream gives you some extra range, fogger types work well as it gets inhaled also but be assured when you use it you are going to get a dose of it as well, the cone spray is a short range in your face that also works well. While those special people exist, none of the ones we sprayed in training have ever had any interest in doing anything but getting to the water hose, usually withhelp None of them were highnor intoxicated though. Dogs generally don't react as strongly as people do but they usually back off and don't want to play anymore either. One of the problems we found some years ago was that most OC sprays are made with the propellentire and active ingredients in the same container, i.e. the can, like spray paint. Turn them upside down or at a severe angle (think lying on you back)all you get is propellers coming out. The Sabre Red has the active ingredient in a bag that is attached to the "out" tube and the propellant surrounds it, it will work regardless of the angle. I am sure others have that option but don't know for sure. And finally never spray and stay, spray and move laterally so that if they do shut their eyes and rush to grab you, all they get is air and hopefully a painful fall/crash into something.

I am an ardent supporter of the Second Amendment but not everyone is the correct fit to carry a firearm, if they are not willing to use it, then it is a liability. Many women are that way, would use it to protect the home but nowhere else. My mom was and still is one who would never shoot anyone period. If she isn't comfortable with one and willing to use it and use it well, she shouldn't be carrying one. To my knowledge there is no restriction on stun guns/tasers. Pepper sprays are NOT all equal. Sabre Red is one that will spray upside down or in any position. Tasers require close contact to use, good pepper spray gives a bit of stand off distance.

Talking about my thong is bullying. Otherwise yeah mostly a UL /LIGHT crappie guy. The thing I like about the Nanofil is how smooth it is going through the guides, when I grab a rod that has some older fireline rigged it feels like steel cable. I think the knot i use is an Albright or Alberto don't remember for sure but dang I went through some trials getting to where I could tie it so it wouldn't break at the knot. Otherwise the down sides are the cost although since it lasts for years that ain't so bad, and how light it is in the wind, but you quickly learn to watch for the tic in the line. Resist the the temptation to go superlight on line size even for super clear water I have gone to 8#. The 6# is even worse for getting knots to hold.

I love Nanofil, casts great, knots are critical. I think I finally got my skills down to where I can tie on a mono leader without it slipping. I no longer use mono for anything except leaders.

I remember that story, it has got to be the dumbest rule ever. I guess I just have never been caught up by it.

Grampa duty today so lunch was one of his favorites, summer sausage, string cheese and Klausen pickles. But we picked up some chicken thighs and baby carrots to fix for his supper. Big cast iron skillet came with me for the chicken, will make some gravy for the quick mashed taters, and will cook the carrots in Coca Cola to give them a sweet taste, the boy likes cooked carrots so I pile them on him. My meals are seldom pretty but they are pretty tasty.

Man a smaller one might be a goggle eye killer! Gotta point my wife to your website for my Christmas presents.

The little 38 revolvers are a good choice. I went with a Taurus 605 stainless in .357 simply because I have a lot of .357 brass and not much .38. However you or she would be more than welcome to shoot it. It is heavier than the .38s to carry but not bad. I understand about the artificially lowered immune system been there, still there to a much lesser extent.

Awesome, I will be adding some of them and some craws to my creek box.

No pics tonight it was a bit hectic. Had a couple small pieces of venison backstrap for last year thawed out and soaking in a marinade, and a batch of bread dough rising. Wife calls and says "two more for supper", quick trip to the freezer and grabbed a bag with two tenderloins from this year's deer #2, thawed and trimmed them and into the marinade. Bread baking and snelling so good, then alarm on phone goes off, she has a meeting g to go to she had forgotten about. Non problem still a full hour to work with. Squash chunked up and sautéing in butter, drained and seasoned the veniston, heated up the big cast iron skillet. Quick sear for wife and I, others got a minute or so longer. Nice and medium rare, tender beyond belief and of course the bread and squash. If I ever retire I will weigh 400 lbs in a year if I have that much time to cook. The extras were my daughter and 4 yr old grandson, that boy does like Papas cooking. Daughter commented that I could feed him a neighborhood cat and he would eat it, we'll yeah because I would make that thing tasty, maybe Korean like a stir fry?

Friends, ask around someone probably has one. Guns, firearms, weapons, bang sticks etc, call em whatever makes you happy.

No kidding, the price of some of the "junk" stuff is silly. Maybe that is why I still like them mom made it taste good back then. We kept everything from butcherish and ate it one way or another. Tough cuts went into pressure cooker, roasts in an electric skillet for sunday supper, steaks floured and seared in a skillet, then way later we got a crock pot. LOL nothing comes out of a crockpot still tough.

I have no interest in making blood sausage, I might try it but the looks don't appeal to me. Tongue, heart, liver and oxtail are all delicious. Liver you either lie or dont, almost no middle ground. Oxtail makes a fabulous soup, heart trimmed, sliced seasoned and grilled hot and fast is pretty dang good. Tongue is fabulous, boiled to get the skin off then you can do whatever you want, I like to smoke it lightly and slice it thin, mustard, couple slices of a sweet onion if no good green onions are available, between thin sliced home made bread. How in an old coffee pot perking in the background and a wood stove to feed and I could be back in my childhood.

I like my steaks wrapped in white paper with my last name printed on it from the slaughterhouse. Hot fire and meat seasoned with salt, pepper garlic powder mix, if I take them off before I think I should they are just right, I don't mind them twitching a little when I stick a fork in them.
