Hopped up on steroids this morning I decided to make flatbread. Found a pretty genetic recipe of flour, water, baking powder, and oil. Recipe called for some yeast but I didn't use any. Did add garlic powder, some dill and basil. Mixed and kneaded it to a big wad and let it rest for 30 minutes, divided it into 4 pieces and rolled out best I could. Warmed up cast iron skillet on a low med temp, gave it a shot of olive oil spray and tossed one in. Cooling now will try one and see hhow it is. Texture is such that it would make an awesome sammich. Wife has a strange eating schedule, no breakfast and eats a light lunch around 12, she is working at school this morning sending out meals etc. But will slide into driveway in a couole hous and I will jump in to head to today's dr. Appt. Will surprise her with the flatbreads for her lunch! Well first taste and it's pretry dang good. Little chewy little crispy. If doing it again I would add more garlic because I love garlic, and a little more salt. But overall while it's dry and you would definitely want a beverage I wouldn't be unhappy to have a couple with me while fishing, hunting, going to dr. Appt or just building a sammich!

He is a very cool color hognose, never saw one that color either. Used to see them a lot but seldom do anymore, used to irritate them just so I could see the puff out. May have been one taken to scool once and dropped in biology room with shout of COBRA, the teacher, she ever even flinched picked it up and said noo he is just a cute little hognose and kept if for a while in an aquarium. Well that's the risk you take in a small town high school.

Google stuff Oneshot. Malaria is neither virus nor bacterial is it caused by a parasite, plasmodium is something like that. Most of rest is bogus, a quick Google when you read stuff like that makes you realize that a lot of people (including me) are flat out talking out of their butt hole and know not even enough to be really dangerous except for that fact that no matter what is said others will repeat as complete gospel. That is the sad fact of social media at times, don't fall into that trap.

Ahh, mine would normally done over 1 to 9 visits for 2 places, but in order to keep me from getting out and about amongst the unwashed he said they wild do both places in one visit. Might make me a little nauseous but not bad. I had seen the really nauseous before so I can handle a little to get it done. But yeah every day for you to get out probably not good. Of course I will be dr visiting at leaat 2 days this week, possibly 4, and at leat a couple next week. Guess they like you better, or aren't concerned if I catch the zombie virus.

Why would they postpone? my. Dr. Says they are not considered elective and is going full tilt. If things work out I will get some Friday depending on what a different dr. in KU says Wednesday.

Confidence in a particular bait is paramount, I hAve a particular walleye jig that I caught wallys on the very first time I tried it, and many times since, it is not a good looking, or colored as nice, nor does it having the swimming action things like a keitech does, I have even offered a few to guys when fishing, a couple looked at them and passed, lol, but if I am walleye fishing and to a lesser extent white bass fishing I will have one tied on one of my rods, if no other reason than to make me felt better. I usually start off super gluing plastic bodies on, but after gluing my stupid finger a few times I usually end up quitting with the glue for the day. Crappie fishing I have some screw log jig heads hold soft Bobby garlands very well also.

The politics side of life is nuts right now. If the President were to be an MD and provide a cure there are those who would decry it and refuse it, if he were to tell every one to simply drink more whiskey during the shutdown and stay drunk the whole time others would make it out to be the greatest idea of all time. COVID = Bad, Fishing = good. That is all.

I ha e used a few different types of make a gasket stuff, works but not as flexible as would like. I would have thought my now I would learn to roll them or hang them and not fold them, but I haven't.

I hear ya, I don't think our dishwasher ever stops running, and washing machine too. I swear we didn't dirty this many dishes when both kids lived here. But they were both here today and I cooked so that always adds to the dish pile. If just me, usually a skillet and a paper plate, but that almost never happens any more.

Since I love a good chewy flatvread, can the surdough be made/baked to intentionally not let it rise. I am picturing a chewy flatvread with sourdough flavor as a base for some very rare thin sliced venison or smoked fish with a little cream cheese and dill maybe.

I swear I can smell it, that funky smell right NOW. A warm slice with some real butter on it right now . . . . Mmmmmmm

I would send you a few, but TW would probably have it there before I could get them there.

There have been several uprising, revolts etc in China, but you are very much correct in a totalarian government seldom does a change of power change much except for the ones in charge, Russia has done the same, some smaller uprisings some larger with little to jo overall change. It is extremely difficult for a people with thousands if years of subjication to step up and make a complete overall change, if not impossible. History is a very good tea her in that regard. I don't think a nuear war is very likely due to the ramifications, however if there was a government that thought they could pull it off and win with only losing half their population and still do it, China would be a good bet. We have moves on a lot from our massive nuear arsenal but will never be rid of it simply because of places like china, North Korea, and to a much lesser extent Russia, India and Pakistan, who would happily nuke each other if they could get away with it. Wars are almost always started by the losing side in the end, although historically many wars of conquest (Romans, gwrmans, dewnchHuns, spanish, english, American, Japan, etc, nearly every major country has had at leat one) have resulted in some periods of world domination and a lot of money being made, which in the end is often what wars are about, Armed Robbery on a Large scale.

Food has been a primary weapon for control for a long time. China has some other sources for beans, rice etc, however those sources aren't as relI able as the US, have a bad year in South America or liss off the Russians and it will be along cold hungry winter. They do also buy the light sweet crude oil that we manufacture. China has always had one main resource, oeople, and along willingness to use them however they see fit, it it costs them a few million, so what there are plenty more. What we would have to hope for us that we could make things tough enough on them to cause the population to rise up against their government, but would they and can we last that long?

My wife is miserable having to stay home and take care of me and mom both. I would happily adopt most of this life style myself. I think people will sort maintain an adjusted social distancing in but it will quickly fall back to old ways. If I had both arms working this would be fabulous for me, lots if home jobs to do. Son came up to help with a couple and put some band aids on a few others until I can get to them. Last night I taught myselt to cast a crappie rod left handed and reel it right handed, sort of sloppy and painful but there is a good possibility I might make a run over to one of my bank spots and catch me a crappie. A buddy wants me to meet him and says he will get me in the boat and tie me in if necessary, my wife is giving me a series stink eye at the concept. If I can catch me a couple crappie then they can do surgery, IVs radiation, whatever and I will retreat into the memory of the "thump/tick" while they do it. Life is good!

I had a friend who would call that "a dogs breakfast", but no dog ever turned it down and would fight over it. We ain't gonna have nothing special here today either. Kids are coming up from spfld to help with a few chores, told them I would make my special burgers. 2 lb ground beef, one pound ground venison, and a pound of pork sausage, along with some grilled bacon and a few morels that a good friend brought by. Like you said not pretty, but bets it's pretty tasty.

glad she is feeling better. You know they feel better when they can chew your butt for something

I love sourdough! When I heal up some I am not above begging for a start or buying a good one. Have considered making my own start, but reported results seem to vary a lot from a good established starter.

Don't think I ever have but I would definitely ty it, not too many things I won't try food wise.

The only constant in life is change, good or bad change will always be with us.

That has kind of been the history of Chinese Governments throughout history for sure. If we want it to hurt we as citizens will have to take some big bites of the ole poop sammich. Buy NOTHING Chinese in origin, let America build back it's industry and ability to make stuff. It will be painful and things will cost more for certain, and farmers are really gonna feel the hurt. When China is unable to buy enough rice and soybeans elsewhere in the world we can shoot them a price and see how bad they want it. But make no mistake it will be painful to watch happen and see businesses and farms go under, but probably shold have been started many years ago, maybe wouldn't have been as bad. Timing is right to get many other governments of the World onto the same field of thought. Let the Chinese knockoffs and copies set and rust in their wharehouses. My fear is that too many of the smaller businesses are gonna go under, i truly would love to see a resurgrnce of smaller say grocery stores re-emerge, ones that can and do buy more locally sourced produce, meats etc. Smaller farmers delivering hogs and beef to local slaughterhouses for turning into salable product, even if the store buys them as halves and butchers them theirselves, like a lot of stores used to, i dont want to see the BIG chains that buy through various means take over, even if that means that young folks and others have to learn that Dollar General is not the best supply stop. I wish could or do something to make that come about, but am not much of a business person and it would take a dang good one to make it I suspect. Sorry about that rant new meds are making me feel feisty.š¹

Well if she ain't gonna drink actual beer why take her more. At least take her some MGD, surely the old stories about the horse that provided it having diabetes was just a joke.

Snake head is a fish that could easily make my bucket list, I like oddball stuff, and have heard they strike visciously, fighting hard and are delicious. What more can a hillbilly want.

Well I can't say too much, I grew up welding in a small shop, galvanized, cast, didnt matter, if it was metal we could weld it. Remember several days blowing nose at end of day and it being black. And (whispering now) I kind of like the smell of a 2 stroke motor, reminds me of fishing with dad, kind of like an old percolating coffee pot

Mary, Mary quite contrary How does your "Victory" garden grow?
MOPanfisher replied to N9BOW's topic in Gardening
Wish I was there and able with my tractor mounted, reverse time tiller. That thing turns it into beautiful tilled soul in one pass. Rock can get a little tricky but I have plenty and am used to digging them out when they get hunt up. I used to plant double rows of corn in one garden, made a big deep furrow going boh ways. Planted on both sides on the high part and then utilized the ditch of put a hose down in running slow and flood irrigate it every couole days, sometimes needed a bnotched board to make it back up and soak in properly. Worked especially well with the canteloupes I used to grow, loved them thinga, think they were called Ambrosia, old time, thin rind and super sweet/musky.
