  1. No it doesn't. That particular Dry Fork is a warm water stream that more resembles Bourbeuse River than most Ozark rivers.
  2. Industry wins, everyone else loses.
  3. Its a hard to tell looking at my phone but I count 17-18 SM and at least 1 google eye.
  4. Good report, thanks for reminding me that OF still offers respite from the hordes.
  5. I wouldn't worry about scrapes and nicks, I would just start adding your own. Your going to love how much water having your own boat will open up. Good luck.
  6. Yeah, I do recall the Gierach story. It's all terribly interesting, I wish I had more time to read up on it. Is this a similar case as Chesterfield Valley where a catastrophic flood happens and no one listens to the lessons learned?
  7. Didn't the big T have a similar event 30 or 40 years ago? I thought that one blew out a reservoir in the park leaving a prominent alluvial fan. One thing that struck me in my one visit to Estes was how constrained the stream was as it went through town. I can't imagine how that volume of water passed through the bridges and culverts.
  8. Wow what a day. We don't hear much good news about fisheries these days, thanks
  9. A beautiful stream. Did you see the Crazy Horse memorial?
  10. A 17 + fish is darn nice. If jets made it up last week I doubt they could this week. It's likely their boats are wearing scars from pushing the limit. This should be the start of quiet season on that stretch of Ga-nade.
  11. Interesting, I looked over the the side of the Boxley bridge a week ago and couldn't even see a river, only water flowing through willows. I wouldn't have thought it floatable. Timing a trip the day after a thunderstorm made It a treat to float the upper river in mid summer.
  12. Colorado is the place to be.
  13. A 20 incher is a big deal for a typical Ozark Smallmouth'er. I have only broke that mark once and It's been so long ago I actually had hair on my head at the time. As far as pictures go, size, background and perspective don't matter, the only really important ingredient beside not contorting the jaw is a tell tale drop of water dripping from the fishes tail.
  14. Might be a very effective pattern for LOZ. Kidding aside, good looking fly!
  15. Great fish, way to go!
  16. Wonderful, congratulations.
  17. Great report,
  18. Move around a lot, fish seldom come to you. Don't give up, take your lack of success with a grain of salt, your not alone. I've been doing this for a long time and my last 4 days were not much better than yours.
  19. Was a time when I thought the clearer the water the better the quantity, the murkier the water the better the quality, experience has proven I know nothing.
  20. No place I've been fishing.
  21. I hate science, it's almost always right.
  22. Do we have a choice? Is there any rubber bait that is a available with varying amounts of salt?
  23. Start with the rod tip low, right at water level. Your line should be as straight as possible. In other words zero slack.
  24. Yes it's comfortable but screw comfort. The water tempiture dropped 10 degrees in three days and the bite is off. Give me 90 and I'll deal with the sweat.
