  1. Nice trip.
  2. Beaver has improved the last 3 years in numbers and quality. Look at the Everette series this year, no A-rigs.
  3. The upper white from Viney to Eagle Rock has kicked out alot of good fish this year. Club member told me that certain sections of the lake every year seems to be better than others.
  4. Fished today 545am-200pm. Mid-lake area. Boated 4 keepers and landed 5 shorts. Had 3 other solid fish show themselves running shad this morning but couldn't them to eat the bait. Found 2 of your shallow smallouth.
  5. I tend to not bother people while they are enjoying lunch. We eat there most Friday's. I went to school with the owners they are nice people. Horseshoe Grill next door is also owned by them, their burgers are very good, fajitas, grilled chicken.
  6. I spotted him Friday eating Chinese in Berryville with the Mrs.
  7. On table rock, Campbell points end the year championship is an all nighter unless they changed it, is in September when water temps cool down a bit. Unreal sacks of fish have been weighed in over the years.
  8. Two advantage's with the plopper vs. toad, buzzbait. 1 cast ability, I can cast the thing another 30 or more feet further than a buzzbait or toad. 2nd, missed strikes, it floats rather than sinks. Fish like to bird dog alot topwaters in my experience. You can stop it,twitch it or burn it a crank and get them to react to it. It's another tool to use to catch more fish.
  9. I have them get bent when this happens, ?.
  10. To get away from crowds I would suggest Diamond City on Bull Shoals. 25 minutes from Harrison. Lead Hill has grocery stores and that's 5-10 minutes from there.
  11. Fished club tournament today, and it was a grinder for this boat, 5 total keeper bites landing 4 of them. Weighed 10.55ish. One was nice 4.40 largemouth. There was several strong limits with one just shy of 16 lbs. 5 something was big fish. Topwaters, spoons, big worms around brush seemed to be the way most of the better fish were caught and you had better be around some kind of bait to have any chance of getting a bite.
  12. 3 generations fishing in the same boat it was awesome!
  13. He put it on me later in the day!
  14. With school being out have had the luxury to get a couple time a week the last 3 weeks. Fishing has changed since the temps have spiked. From what I have seen if you want any topwater bites get out early, flat points next to a drop last 30minutes unless there is cloud cover. Next, boat docks with a spoon 30-70ft, but the have been hitting all on the fall at 10-15ft down. Some bites have been line slackers and others have sat there with so pay attention. Well, that's what is like when the air temps were in the high 80s. The last 2 weeks it's all about the bait, no bait no chance of a bite period! Keep some kind of bait that you can fling a long ways because there has been some small sized schools of bass pushing shad and stay up for a cast or 2. Calm days timber is best, windy days big rock or bluffs with big rocks is better. Good luck and stay hydrated.
  15. Alot, of public hunting areas don't allow filming. Check with regulations. It doesn't make any sense to me especially for family memories and such. But if you are trying to make money at it the of course the government will not allow that
  16. 3.98 was weighed in at Eagle rock Saturday, I fished a benefit last April and big fish for that tournament was 4.52 meanie.
  17. Club fished Saturday out of eagle rock caught a solid limit just shy of 12 lbs, had 14 solid keeper bites all day but boated 5 of them. All on topwater. Fisherman won big fish at 4.18 and won first place they also had a 3.98 mean mouth in there boat. There was lots Kentucky limits weighed in after it has been a catch fest up there the last few weeks. Monday, fished kings river until 330 caught alot of short largemouth and several small keepers on square bills.
  18. I would take it as a blessing in disguise, fish that end of the lake shallower than you normally would. Largemouth will get to act like largemouth and get super shallow.
  19. Sometimes males are really dark almost black but females can look like that too.
  20. Sometimes the fish are so keyed up on bait that its hard to get them to bite artificial lures. You did what any of us would have done, backed out and try other techniques that is all you can do.
  21. Unfortunately, this double plopper will work! I would be interested in getting a hold of one.
  22. That's the one " little" Indian
  23. Dogwood canyon would come out into big Indian Creek I believe.
  24. Tyson tournament took just under 18 lbs to win, we didn't do so well boated 8 fish and 1 keeper all topwater fish early. Threw floating worms, flukes, flipped docks, moved out to 15-20 ft with jigs and wobble heads and the old ball and chain and didn't get a bite, felt like the fish just shut down and didn't make the right adjustment. Good luck to everyone this next week.
  25. This year has been the most fish that I have caught where someone else has caught them, noting a cull pin hole in the bottom lip or a tear out of a mouth from someone hooking it on a different outing. C@R is nothing but a positive. If you notice when alot of boats/tournaments have been happening the fishing gets tough, that is due to the fish feeling the pressure or adapting and moving around.
