Trusted no more, Stanley Thermos
slothman replied to MOPanfisher's topic in Tips & Tricks, Boat Help and Product Review
I got one of the new Stanley thermoses and was quite disappointed in how long, or should I say how short, a time my beverage stayed warm. After my grandpa died, I got his old Stanley thermos. Now that thing will keep something piping hot all blessed day and then some. I finally just disposed of my new one and kept the old one from grandpa. It works so much better. -
If my supply order would ever arrive I could get you a new batch of swim jigs. Too bad my order has been in usps purgatory for over a month now. It has been sitting in a truck in a parking lot in St. Louis since thanksgiving after having been all over the country before that. š¤¦āāļø

Where did you live in West Tennessee? I grew up in Covington. Never fished Reelfoot though. We usually went over and fished Pickwick, or drove all the way over to Table Rock.

Check out this website. I bet you can find something here that would help if there is anything out there that would. I had some guys from a pest control company turn me on to this DIY pest control website. I am able to buy the exact same chemicals the professionals that have come to the house used, but for a small fraction of what it cost to hire them. https://www.domyown.com

Wild turkey breast cut into strips and pan fried is one of my absolute favorite treats. Mmmmmm I tagged two this past weekend and canāt wait to cook them up.

I used to sell tails to mepps too. Who else used to do that? Do they still buy them?

I took my 5 year old out for her very first hunt this past weekend. We got one squirrel with my old .410. It was the first firearm I ever owned that I got for my birthday one year, when I was a kid, from my grandpa. I took her back to the place I killed my very first squirrel with the very same .410. We walked a little ways. Saw a flock of turkeys (gobblers). Sat in the woods and ate a snack, and also killed a squirrel. It took a little convincing, but she finally came around and agreed to touch and carry it. All-in-all, Iād call it a successful trip. Iām hoping she will want to go again. And again. And again...

We pulled one caught in a trot line on the Gasconade Saturday. It was kinda a sad deal. That bird was so sad and scared. I felt bad for it. It didnāt come out unscathed, but we did manage to get it unhooked and released alive.

Everybody seems to love throwing a buzz bait and/or a whopper plopper, but I could probably count on one hand how many fish Iāve caught on wither of those. I want to like the, I really do. And I throw them enough that I should be getting bit more Iād think. I just donāt have much success with them. Give me a spinnerbait or a frog/spook/popper/devils horse.

Check ebay too. I have actually had pretty good luck getting parts for my 1100 on there.

Lol. I can indeed. š It was caught in Linn Creek Cove at Lake of the Ozarks.

I caught this one during a tournament with someone else in the boat to witness. I caught it on an 11ā plastic worm with a 5/0 hook. Caught him in the mouth too.

It is turned on. That is part of why I am so perplexed.

I am having a problem with a recurring pop-up only when using this website. I am using an iPad with Safari and starting yesterday I began getting a google syndication pop-up repeatedly while using this site. I have tried clearing browser history and cookies, but it persists. I copied the url it keeps taking me to. https://tpc.googlesyndication.com/sadbundle/$csp%3Der3$/4714383628194296239/970x250.html#t=843414216469662672&p=https%3A%2F%2Fgoogleads.g.doubleclick.net I am reluctant to click this link. Anybody got any idea what the deal is with this?

I get the Regatta permits for our bass club (LOZ and Pomme) and no one has said anything to me about having āpulled the permitsā. We have been very thoughtfully considering if we should cancel our tournaments, or impose some different procedures to keep people at a distance, or something else altogether. Currently our plan (if we choose to not cancel) is that everyone launch their own boat without assistance, stay away from one another, weigh fish one person at a time while everyone else stays distanced at their boats. Personally, I think now is an excellent time for bass tournaments to change their format to something more like what the kayak guys do where you take pictures with your phone with a gps and time stamp. And fish for total inches instead of weight. Then you could release the fish shortly after catching it and back in the same spot where it was caught. You would also not have to keep the fish alive in the livewell all day with the picture method.

As somebody that is a novice in and is just getting started pouring my own jigs, this is a very interesting and informative thread. I donāt fish a Ned much (hardly at all), but this has been a good education in hook selection. Iāve exclusively used mustad hooks in my bass jigs so far and have been quite happy with them. I have had requests from some guys to use a beefier hook like a gamakatsu or owner. I think I can just use a mustad with a heavier wire (not sure I want to modify my mold to do it though). Sorry for the digression. Please continue and donāt allow me to sidetrack your conversation.

Garmin Panoptix LiveScope
slothman replied to 3DHUSKER's topic in Tips & Tricks, Boat Help and Product Review
Iāve fished in the boat with someone that has one. Holy smokes! It is basically cheating. It is unreal, completely unlike anything Iāve ever seen. Expensive? Very. Worth it? Well, I donāt (and probably wonāt ever) have one, but I foresee a day where it may be difficult to consistently win tournaments without one. Rather I should say, I think consistent top tournament finishers will probably have one in the future. -
I havenāt used chatterbaits, but Iāve heard you can clip the paddle tail off a keitech and it works better than with the paddle tail.

And the water is too low to use any of the private ramps Iād normally try to use.
