  1. I love being in the sun. I get the most fantastic tan every summer and rarely if ever get a sunburn. Usually only in the most intense sun, and usually only when I get dehydrated. However, I have started to become more aware of my mortality and of the mortality of those around me. I've seen too many people, lately, around me having to have things frozen off, burned off, or cut off. I really don't want that to be me, but I also really don't want to wear sunscreen. I have found a compromise with my wife to wear uv protective clothing instead of sunscreen. Believe me, I was somebody that was dogging on the "weak" that couldn't handle the sun as recently as a year ago. I spent a year using the huk shirt and the buff and found that I kinda enjoyed wearing them. Maybe, my skin will thank me when I am older. To me, it is all about prevention and comfort.
  2. Do you use any sun Gloves? I started using a buff and long sleeved Huk uv protection shirt this year. I've thought about getting some sun gloves. I really hate wearing sunscreen, especially on my face. I still wear shorts and sunscreen though.
  3. I heard that Joe Bass and Bassin Bob both canceled. But don't take my word for it.
  4. I don't think the lake is low enough yet for it to be a huge problem, but I've been told to be careful on Pa he tsi in low water. I've heard there is some rebar that likes to eat trailer tires on the end of that ramp that can be a problem during the drawdown. I haven't confirmed this for myself, but do be careful... just in case. Perhaps one of the more veteran LOTO guys knows more about it than me?
  5. I can certainly appreciate that.
  6. That would be awesome. I love figuring out how to do repairs and maintenance by watching YouTube videos. I have learned so much from YouTube that I have saved myself thousands of dollars in home/vehicle/appliance repairs by learning how to do it myself. it is amazing how you can "give away your secrets" and actually gain more business because of it.
  7. I'd say, pretty freakin'. I'd subscribe. I'll help contribute too 😉😎😁.
  8. The Tactical Bassin guy has two on his boat.
  9. Everybody tells me that, and I have tried one a couple of times. That are awesome. I just can't spend that kind of money on a trolling motor. Just a bit too rich for me. Maybe I'll hit the powerball someday. 😁
  10. I got some money to help with the purchase of a new trolling motor on my 19' Champion. Going to get either a Minn Kota Maxxum or a Fortrex. Ultrex just isn't in the cards, but they are sweet.
  11. So very dirty.
  12. Looks like a largemouth to me.
  13. Hey! Stay out of my hole! Lol 😂
  14. Also, don't do what I did a few years ago and get your net into a spoonbill. I cast into a ball of shad and caught a spoonbill. He promptly set his business to destroying my net. I left with no shad and no net. Bad day for me. 🤷‍♂️
  15. Truth.
  16. I don't have a link, but it is called: Champion Boat Owners If you search for it, you'll find it. It is a private group. Champion boat owners only, I think charger boat owners too.
  17. I see it now, but not in the initial post. That is a real beauty. I was admiring (drooling) over it yesterday. I saw it posted on the Champion Boat Owners Facebook Page. Congratulations on your new ride. You'll have to bring it up here to Lake of the Ozarks sometime 😉😁.
  18. I have the Lew's Custom Speed Stick Jerkbait rod. I have used it for small crankbaits. That is what made me decide that I need a dedicated rod for my larger crankbaits. I'm just starting to expand my equipment from the standard 6'6"-7' medium heavy for everything, generic set-ups to more specialized and technique specific with some things. A new medium/large crankbait rod and a jig skipping rod are two things that I think could really help me with how I currently fish.
  19. I may have to check that out. Also, everybody keeps telling me that the whopper plopper is the deal. I have yet to carptch a fish on one. I finally decided recently that I was going to commit to throwing one all day until I got bit. I hit a dock on about the fourth cast and broke the tail off. I can't seem to bring myself to buy another one when I have so little confidence in it. We'll see if another one finds its way into my box.
  20. I'm thinking I need a dedicated cracking rod as well. I'm looking for something to crank dd22s and xd3, xd5, xd6. I haven't decided what rod to get though.
  21. I've been cleaning it in the bathtub with hot water. I may have to give that stuff a try.
  22. I shoot an old Traditions inline with open sights of my dad's. We use a 50 cal. sabot. I can hot a squirrel in the head from 100 yards with the open sights. I love shooting that thing, but hate cleaning it.
  23. That is my biggest complaint of shooting mine. Such a process to clean the darn thing. I do love shooting it though. Only rifle that I don't shoot with a scope.
  24. Break action muzzleloader??? Isn't that an oxymoron? At what point does it cease being a muzzleloader and just become a break action rifle?
  25. I know a lot of guys that love to shoot Kent.
