  1. Went up the Osage arm last night. So much trash floating in the lake right now. Be careful. The bite was decent, but was better before the sun went down. We found that you need to get on the bank to get bit. Rocks seemed to be the ticket. Starting to see some get turned on by some topwater. Do do be careful of all the junk floating in the water. Hitting a log is a sure way to ruin your day.
  2. I heard that news flash too. Total bummer. Is that gonna shut off the bite, you think? How do you think that will change things?
  3. Ok. Thanks for letting me know. I didn't know why it wasn't working, but I figured you guys would want to know in case it was a server issue.
  4. I don't know if it is related, but there are a few of us that have been unable to see some pictures that have been posted. The specific thread is "LOZ Pig".
  5. I can't see the picture. I just get a big series of letters. How big was it? What on? Where? When? Any details? i didn't get out there with everybody this weekend, but yes, the fishing has been pretty good.
  6. Floated the Niangua today. It was in great shape. Good flow, but not too much. Fishing was pretty good too. We beat the crowds too.
  7. Ed, I I fished your bank today and did pretty well. Caught bass on everything. Spook, Texas rigged creature, wacky rigged senko, crankbait.
  8. Our tournament today on Pomme was tough too. I had two fish. One on a spinnerbait, the other on a Texas rigged lizard. It was tough. The wind was extremely difficult to deal with today. The winner of our tournament had 16.55.
  9. I have one of these and I love it.
  10. I do both, but usually have an indicator. I used to never tie onto the bend of the hook. I did what you do and leave a long tag on a Palomar. Recently, however, I have been tying onto the bend of the hook and it seems a bit more natural.
  11. Temperature update: I was seeing from 68-70 degrees surface temperature at the dam area this morning. Like the first 5 miles.
  12. 68-70 degrees on that part of the lake. I'm hoping to get out tomorrow or this weekend. I'll try to remember to take note of the surface temperature while I'm out.
  13. Great report. I had a very different day. Fished from the dam to Shawnee Bend access. I caught one fish all day long on a square bill out of some brush next to a dock. I threw just about everything I could think of, we just weren't on them. We were fishing next to the bank. Sounds like deep was the way to go. My partner had several small fish on a jerkbait with one nice 3 pounder. All in all, it was a pretty tough day for us.
  14. Well done! What a great day!
  15. Wow! What a bonus fish!
  16. I would be more inclined to wear sunscreen on my feet/legs/arms. I really don't like putting it on my face personally.
  17. I just ordered some. I'm waiting for them to come. Got them for the exact reason you stated: I don't like to wear sunscreen on my face. Hopefully I'll be able to get them in and try them out soon.
  18. I always eat what I gig (only suckers). However, it does not surprise me in any way to hear that people gig whatever they can find and just for fun with no intention of eating them. There are lots of waterfowl hunters in that same boat too unfortunately.
  19. I'm sure that is the way some people play the game...but not me.
  20. You wouldn't catch me eating suckers out of the Finley. Why? See above.
  21. That is a crazy video. Great reminder to wear your vest and kill switch. He was driving kinda crazy though if you ask me. What at I want to know is, why was he in the water unconscious for ten minutes when there was someone videoing him crash? Did they not turn around and go help him immediately?
  22. Y'all did better than I did today. I caught only 3. All on a wiggle wart in shallow water. We put in at pb2 and went all over the glaize. It was tough for us today. Water temp was from 45-51 where we were.
  23. That is true. I hadn't thought of that. Something to consider. I've never put in there before. I am supposed to put in there for a tournament in a month or two though.
  24. My brother is coming up from Springfield and we are going to give it a try. Can't decide whether to launch from PB2 or make the drive to Coffman. PB2 is closer to Horseshoe bend, but Coffman gives better access to the dam area and gravois which I am more familiar with and like to fish, especially early in the year. All of the four seasons ramps are unusable with the low water. Decisions, decisions.
  25. The included map is a major reason that I think garmin is definitely the best value right now.
