  1. Left State Park at 10 water temp 43.1 and fished until 3. Caught 16 fish with 11 keepers. No brown fish. Threw jerkbait and the Little Varmint. PB&J varmint was the deal. LM were in pole timber in 15 to 20 feet. Spots were at the same depth on a combo of ledge and chunk rock. Sloooow and very little twitching. Light bite. I only have my phone but will try to post some pictures. Best fish was 4.5. All keepers were nice thick fish.
  2. Wife and I ate at FD about 2 months ago. She had a fried chicken salad and I had the seafood gumbo with a side salad. Food, service, and atmosphere were remarkable. The prices were very fair. Definately a "go to" place!
  3. They also do a very good job with their mail order service.
  4. I fear that a liberal progressive, special interest, big govt. minority voting block has been compiled that can win nearly any election. Traditional media supports the notion of big govt. When the 60s radicals lost in their efforts to create chaneg through their revolutionary tactics, they went underground and started brainwashing our youth through the education system. Many adults educated since the 70s actually believe in this secular one world order nonsense. When you combine that problem with a biased press and lack of term limits in congress, we have a real mess on our hands that may require some dire global risks to begin turning it around
  5. Great job Alex! Is that an mp3 file format and how large is that file? I am trying to get a handle on Go Pro file format and file sizes. Thanks
  6. I have a Ranger 487vs with a 200 Mercury xri and 4 blade prop. We aren't very fast but we sure look good ?
  7. I just bought new batteries for my boat from Battery Outfitters and I cannot compliment them enough.
  8. Bill Are you considering any boat except a Phoenix?
  9. Michael Moore is a sweating bucket of Crisco that needs to get lost. Anyone that hates this country with the opportunity and freedom it strives to offer it's citizens that much is pathetic. Rat hole him in the same group as Ward Churchill and Bill Ayers.....spent their lives trying to undermine the best country in history.
  10. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=AuYlkmPZFZc I shared this with a Missouri basketball fan a while back but did not get a reply.....funny......more than a little profane...but funny
  11. Champ If you keep that up Tackle Warehouse will send you more than a bumper sticker and Duckett will be sending you a jersey. ...LOL
  12. It might just be me, but I am uncomfortable with the aggressive salesmen in the main traffic aisles. I don't think it takes much to understand that people do not want to be approached by or yelled at by a complete stranger with a sales quota for timeshares and credit cards. I avoid the issue all together by ordering on line with free shipping to the store
  13. I am in the process of switching to Lews.....3 baitcasters and 3 spincasters so far....super products...can't say enough good about them. Its pretty amazing how far you can throw a Megabass 110 with their baitcasters.
  14. Pictures from their website
  15. http://www.easystepsystem.com/ I have this one mounted on my Ranger Trail and I like it a lot.
  16. Thanks rps.... can't wait
  17. Thanks Quill good report
  18. Launched at KDoc at a little before 8 am. Threw a jerkbait for the next 5 hours. 4 walleye with 1 keeper, several nice largemouth, and some nice keeper crappie. Had a nice trip but we had to work for them.
  19. Phil you mentioned that the Trout Magnet was not allowed from the dam to Fall Creek.....is that because of the plastic grub part?
  20. Even for those who like their steaks rare a key to big flavor in a steak is using high temperature to sear the sides and seal in the juices (beef fat)....this is called caramelization. What occurs is the Millard Reaction, a process where amino acids and various sugars are converted to big flavor at high temps. Many big time steak and chop houses broil at up to 700 degrees to ramp this process up.....a little melted butter on top doesn't hurt either
  21. Thank you for the heads up on W.F. Cody's. We will plan to give it a try. We enjoying trying recommended places for burgers, pizza, and bbq. On the subject of bbq, I was always disappointed in my own bbq so I went to 3 classes put on by Chris Marks, an 8 time Amercian Royal Grand Champion. I learned a lot. http://three-little-pigs-bbq.com/tag/chris-marks-bbq/ . Then I went to anothert class and became a Certified Kansas City BBQ Society Judge. Learning from BBQ Pros is a lot like hiring a proven guide to show you some Table Rock fishing skills. There a number of places around the country that serve great bbq. The key is to find the spots that serve competition quality product all the time. One place that is not too far away that is worth a small detour when you travel east is Mike Mill's place in Murphysboro, IL. He was four-time World Champion and three-time Grand World Champion. http://www.17thstreetbarbecue.com/Menu.aspx They cook over apple wood and the sauce is a mustard based solution of greatness. Another outstanding place that is in Kansas City atJoe's Kansas City...formerly known as Oklahoma Joes. They have competition quality product and I specifically recommend The Z Man Sandwich which is bbq brisket covered with smoke provolone cheese and onion rings http://www.joeskc.com/ BBQ crawls make for a fun add on to a trip. Dave
  22. Management teams generally leave things status quo until they determine what slow but steady changes may improve profitability. Since Johnny Morris / Bass Pro is not publicly held, therefore no board of directors and stockholders to report to, they will likely do as they like on their own terms. I hope they preserve that great Ranger parts department....best service I have ever seen.
  23. I have had the misfortune to be involved with a number of corporate mergers and acquisitions. The common thread in All mergers and acquisitions is three fold: 1) The larger business believes that they can finance the acquisition and create additional profits through cost reductions and operational "synergies" 2) The purchase expense is far less than the cost of competition in the marketplace 3) The purchase/acquisition cost buys the former competitors proprietary and patented manufacturing processes...... (Bass Pro just acquired Ranger's patented pulltrusion technology as an example) I have never seen the larger / acquiring company not make substantial changes to the acquired company even if it takes a few years....just my 2 cents
  24. +1
