  1. Good for you! Thanks for the report but I'm surprised you caught ANYTHING on a RCSTX. I cant catch a cold with one, maybe a rainbow on the tail hook..Browns do not seem to like them. Glad I sold them off.
  2. Have extra boats I would not mind storing, but your location is no good for me. Maybe hit up Fishnwrench for something he wants off of his property?
  3. Looks like there are two kayak rentals in Branson. I'm not sure how many boats they rent but cruising in current on Taney, would be more appealing that propelling yourself on a lake. Canoes, Kayaks, and Motorboats usually don't mix well together. Just be glad that you don't have a bunch of Tubers to contend with!
  4. Most fishing is on private property, so permits may not be required. You can purchase access through local tackle shops, pubs, inns, etc. Hope you have a great trip!
  5. They did extend the zones on the Meramec and Big Rivers this year, but no extension on the Gasconade. Its still Riddle to Jerome.
  6. Pretty cool video. A buddy of mine said his guide was using one to scout for rolling tarpon in the Key's a couple weeks ago. Sent the drone ahead to look before they poled over there.
  7. There is a swivel chair that mounts on the front seat, and one for the back deck. Did not haul them out of the garage.
  8. Thanks for the info on Greene's.
  9. Wow! Good for you guys!
  10. Good for you Brian! Those are some fine fish!
  11. Gonna find out later this week. Will have a Trolling motor for backup.
  12. Glad you are keeping the boat! You would regret it if you sold it.
  13. Finally got the oars on! The stock locks were way to low. Hit me in the knee caps. Found some oar mounts, and the rest of the hardware at NRS. These are the 10" mounts but might return and order the 6" or 8". They are designed to mount on WW cataraft frames with bigger tubing so a spacer is required to mount on a Jon boat. Some flexible but rigid 1 1/4 spa tubing did the trick.
  14. One agent per county is nothing. There are about 115 counties in Missouri and a 9-5 job is 2,080 hrs per year. Even if an agent spends half of their time doing enforcement activities its only 1020 hrs per year per county..They have plenty of money to spend on enforcement if they wanted to, but they do not. .
  15. Its cheaper to keep them.
  16. Nice ! Rockbridge is a fun place. Shoot some clay birds, catch a few trout, hit the gravel bar in the old mill for a cocktail, then eat a good dinner near the Arky border, go to sleep in a clean bed. Have not been in awhile. Been Married 12 yrs and my wife learned to fly fish there and at Westover while we were dating. Our girls are 9 and 11, think will take them and pair with a float on the NFoW.
  17. Will be down there 7/6 Scott. Send me a report...Ned for open water, Mitch Craw to punch wood, and topwater is the usual program. Not much structure on the Black...Look for areas with depth, in or near current, structure a plus, lack of a swimmer or boater, then toss something there. Behind canoes exiting a riffle can be good too.
  18. Was talking about the canoe trailer 😁
  19. Thanks for the pics, and that is one sweet float rig!

    Bears!

They found a 400lb bear dead in the Current River near Van Buren a couple days ago. Dead Bear on the Current
  21. Looks like a fun adventure. Fishing success usually comes 3rd after people & places in my book.
  22. Nice! Looks like a great day. $20 shuttles are rare.
  23. Used to run a drag chain off the back of my canoes. You will want a 2x2 and an anchor lift and lock. Run it off the stern. Make a little bracket to brace it inside the gunwhales and bolt it to the aft carry handle. Have not used one in years. 3' of chain doubled over, & duct taped & 25-30' of rope. Still thinking learning curve. Back paddle a bit and set your shot before you cast. Might take it off your hands if you really don't like it.
  24. Think it's just a learning curve. Fishing jigs, plastics, or bait on the bottom from a moving canoe can be frustrating unless you eddy out, cast up and let it tick. Jerkbaits, topwater lures and cranks are easier to fish in current. Where were you? Had allot of rain last weekend.
  25. Might have to go to radio shack for BB's mojo. 😀
