  1. Great Travelog! Thanks!
  2. Kill Everthing, No Season, No Limit seems to be human nature. It just is. The smallmouth fishing up north is good because square heads would rather poach walleye.
  3. Akers to Pulltite. Have spent allot of time there. It’s top notch scenery but the fishing is poor. Trout don’t seem to like it, and neither do the smallmouth. The Niangua could be a top notch river but it suffers badly from human overuse and agriculture. It hasn’t been raped and tortured as badly as the Courtois, Huzzah, and Meramec between Hwy 19 and the Caverns, but it’s not far off the mark. Think that 90% of the people problem would go away if we got rid of raft rentals. The AG use and development problems are much bigger.
  4. I have boats galore Dave...2 kayaks, solo canoe, tandem canoe, paddle jon. Give me a shout sometime. Rivers have been jacked up when I've had time, and I need to get out.
  5. You really need to float or jet boat if you want to catch smallmouth consistently. Wade fishing only really handicaps you.
  6. It’s within an hours drive (North or South) of I-44.
  7. Its a well know fact that the probability for the existence of a Sasquatch type creature is slightly higher than the probability of the existence of a supernatural man in the sky who solves problems for you. There are 24 paragraphs and a three color chart printed up all nice on shiny paper in an old set of the Encyclopedia Britannica that I found at Cliff Claven's garage sale. If I could only remember where I put that, I'd take a picture.
  8. Justin & Amy sold to Brian & Stephanie. They still live up the road though.
  9. Brian and Stephanie @ Sunburst are great. Give them a call.
  10. 20 years ago, we kept our mouths shut about jerkbait fishing for trout and especially what baits we were using. Somebody must have promoted it online and drawn attention to it.
  11. There is a 25hp maximum above Round Spring year round, and nothing over 10hp is allowed above Akers prior to September 15th. Stay below Welch if you want "Easy" boating. MDC's shock boat is a 17' Lowe Paddlejon with 5hp, NPS will run a jet down there sometimes, but I've only seen it when the river was closed.
  12. Looks like fun...Those streams get muddy quickly. Hope it clears up for you.
  13. Should be fine for camping and have enough water. You probably want to call and make arrangements for a shuttle and someone to watch your vehicles in that area. There is a canoe rental right below Prosperine who might help you out. Not sure if they will be open on Oct 1...best to call ahead.
  14. We already have a Low T anglers club...It's called Trout Unlimited😁.
  15. I'm trying real hard, real hard, to avoid becoming a resentful, grumpy old man, but these darn kids aren't making it easy!
  16. What's the point? You do know that folks will mow grass for a small fee😄.
  17. Do what you can to get rid the world of Youtube fisherfolk & hunters. Stop watching & unsubscribe from Youtube hunting and fishing channels, never fish/hunt with those who bring a GoPro, and last but not least.... DONT LINK THEIR YOUTUBE CHANNELS! The more hits they get, the more they make!
  18. Nice job! Think the premade ones go for $350 and up.
  19. These arrived today, and I think they will stand out well come September. Might even kill some pigeons prior too...
  20. Cottonmouths seem to be more common as you get closer to the Arkansas border but I see some on spring fed waters further north occasionally. They love to sun in willow weed beds, so watch your step.

    NBA Finals

What is this NBA you speak of?
  22. I haven't seen anything I've really liked from MDC Fisheries since they changed the trout regulations 20 years ago. Last round of smallmouth regs was a huge flop IMO.
  23. Have no idea. Looks like something that squareheads toss for walleye.
  24. CW, Talk to Craig @ Hargrove’s and ask him to put you in contact with Wally H about a wood & canvas canoe. He collects & restores those, plus he has built a few of them.
  25. Enjoyed the travel log and the photos. Thanks!
