Been playing around with some calls. Used to play saxaphone & clarinet, so the breath control does not seem hard. The DR-85 is small in your hand, but makes some decent sounding noises to my ear. Got one of those 6 in one whistles, works well, just gotta remember what is what. Gotta Zinc goose call, takes more air, but can break it over and make some sounds with it. Did not realize it but my 9 year old has a custom single reed duck call. She won it at the Troutbust raffle. Wood call, blue green dyed box elder burl with a brass ring. Very well finished. Harder to blow than the goose call but we are having fun playing our kazoos and annoying the neighbors.

In the end, you waste your time. Have helped organize folks, wrote tons of letters, tons of emails, went to tons of meetings with them in the past 25 years. You might get 2 of the 10 things you are asking for 8-10yrs after you started asking for them, and never the ones you really want. I appreciate your enthusiasm, it’s your turn. I’m done with those smug desk jockeys.

It will be a complete waste of your time. They will answer some questions, blow smoke up your posterior, compile an exhaustive list of your comments. In the end, they will disregard your comments and do what they have decided to do.

Weaver’s can’t sell you a day tag as far as I know. 50k topline is not much. Gotta make payroll to sell them, and not sure if Roger’s gets a cut or not off day tag sales. It is not the bulk of his business. Licenses are a 5% cut, and they take their 95% out within days. Basically makes up for the Credit Card Fee (3% ish +\-) then a small profit.

It is probably not the radiation. It might suppress your immune system to the point where you are a virus sponge/germ magnet. Would not stay with Rosie Roundheels at the local no tell motel.

Thinking all of the trout tag sale to MDC. 95% of license fees to MDC, 5% to the vendor. It’s not allot to most vendors. $50k in licence sales gets you $2,500. More of a convienience than a money maker. They will buy something else when they stop by for a license.

Would go for some Megabass instead of a McStick. The colors on those are cartoonish. No clear water colors.

Have never caught one on the Black or SF mainstem. EZ on spots mentioned earlier. Better odds of catching a channel cat on a lure on the Black or SF.

Nice! The meet venue is between FC and Hargrove’s and within a long walking distance of my house. Open bar is nice if the speaker sucks.

Think there are grass pikerel on the James drainage...They run small...like 12" is a big one...Chains get bigger...20-24" is not uncommon. Have only caught them at the spots I mentioned earlier. Supposed to be on the Black & St. Francis too, but never have caught one there. You should try the Namekagon R. or St. Croix R. up north if you want to stick a Musky. Great floating up there.

Musky are not hard to catch...You just have to go were musky are (NW Wisconsin & Minnesota). I don't think that Chain pickerel are common anywhere in SWMO....Do you catch any near you Chief?

Big Roostertails 1/8oz, do not fish slow. Figure they would eat the small plopper, never much luck with a walker on chains.

You best experience will be river fishing for smallmouth in MO. Table Rock & Stockton if you want to lake fish for them. Plenty of water. Would read Al’s stuff. Also join Missouri Smallmouth Alliance for the book. Attend a meeting or a trip. Lots more info gets shared around a campfire than online these days.

You will want some needle nose pliers. They don’t shred line like a 36” Northern or a Musky, but can mess with your digits. Pretty common in the 16-22” hammer handle range. Shallow Bluegill cranks, jerkbaits, and in-line spinners will take them.

There are a bunch of them in McCormack Lake its a USFS lake a couple miles north of the Greer Access on the Eleven Pt. Have caught them on the Eleven Pt, the Current, and the Jack's. Noblett Lake used to be good for them...but It was drained several years ago. I haven't been back since.

Blazing Saddles is one of the best fishing movies ever! Monty & the Holy Grail is there too. They roll like most of my group fishing trips. Not a GD thing makes any sense, fun is had, and all go home happy.

We have all driven off and left stuff. Remember a turn around and a mad dash through a horde of tourists and herd of Buffalo to retrieve a fly rod on the Yellowstone. The rod & reel was recovered but destroyed. At least the rod was under warranty.

Looks like a great time! Fish when they bite. Fish in the cooler and enjoy the ride when they don’t.

I usually prefer to book through independents. You know they get all the money. Not always possible at an Alaskan Bush camp/lodge. You have cooks, housekeepers, guides, pilots.

Lucky you! Put your rod under your drivers side windshield wiper so you don’t drive off w/o it.

Never have been proud about fixing planes that killed a bunch of people. They were despot Iraqi’s but still people. Folks stray when away even if they love each other. Not gonna get in that mix. Some women are loyal, some are out looking the second you boots are out of town.
