  1. Will be in a canoe someplace, hope y'all have fun.
  2. Thanks for the info. The boaters should be reasonably happy with that. Think it will be on their website later this week.
  3. Good for all of you! Plus happy birthday! 3 great folks in a boat, Glad you had a great time. Hope you made Justin row a bit.
  4. Go pro is for for skate boarders. Heck I gave up Un memorable photos years ago. Who needs more? I'm sure it's a fun gizmo to play with if you have time. Might be fun to strap one to my Border Collies head & see what she sees while running like a cheetah in 4x4. Sure it's nice but no time for it. Drone vid of a fly fishing trip would be neat. Two ideas, go for it.

I hate fishing a no feel Jerkbait. The pointer 78 comes to mind, but it sure does work in cold water. Ordered a couple of the new mega bass. The 110 is pretty good sometimes but I favor slender pointers. Does anyone have experience with the new Megabass offering or thethenJackall Squirrel baits? Think I might order a few.

guessing you like down fw? Floating raps can do many things! Dad used to take a drill and weight them. Worked well.

Lots of jerk baits mentioned. They are all a tad different. Have several and know how to adjust one.
  8. They did not lose many either. 2-3 to snags, 1-2 to trees.
  9. Z-man baits are better for that rig. Need the gel super glue to attach the rubber to the jig head. Baits slide too much without. My 5 & 7 year old daughters had Ned's with weed guards on all year long. They did well. Maybe 50 fish between both on 4-5 trips. Not bad for kids who fish for a half hour max.
  10. Glad to hear that!
  11. Jadwin or Silver Arrow are the closest that come to mind. Not anywhere near the river though.
  12. Ozark Mountain Ranch is closed too. I'm not aware of any private CG's near Montauk.
  13. Not me, I would have said Hi. Traded the Jeep in on an pickup awhile ago.
  14. Don't tell where you find them. Serious about that. They are rare and folks will poach, and sell them.
  15. Emailed a friend on the state park board. More camping sites are planned. Don't like the idea at all.
  16. Had the fam along so limited fishing. Brown Trout numbers seemed to be down. Rainbow all over the place. Fished for 6 hours on Friday. Went up from Tan Vat at Dawn. Cabbage patch up there. 3 bows in the 15-17" range and a 19" brown, plus a few small bows. Three guys pulled In to Tan Vat as I was rigging and went down I guess. Did not see them again. Back to camp for a cup of coffee at 9am and back to river. Drove to Baptist and saw a canoe trailer coming up the hill. 2 boats at the access, no fishing gear in the boats or anglers but I went to Parker instead. More small rainbows and a 21" brown. Nice day but the lack of small browns is a concern. Only 3 for the day.
  17. Saw a bunch of Survey stakes in the woods below campground loop 4 this weekend. Is the park going to build more campsites?
  18. Depends on the lure. Usually fish the same stuff I use for Smallmouth for Brown Trout. Medium action spin our light casting tackle. Light action for smaller stuff and rainbow. Fly rod when that's good.
  19. Hope the new guy does well with it. Might be a good opportunity to generate some tax sheltered cash flow for the right buyer.
  20. I would not toss the Ned under the bus yet but what was presented looks a lot like another good winter jig.
  21. Pm Justin. He owns the place. Maybe leave a key and they can haul your rig back while you float.
  22. It would be easier to call Sunburst for a shuttle. It's about a 6 mile float from Kelly down to their place.
  23. The warmer the better. Inshore down in Florida is dead that time of year.
  24. Your plan will work! We had a glorious couple of years when the water was up. Still some nice fish but big fish numbers are way down. Was hard to find a big one last year. Best brown was only 19". A couple years ago, several over 18 and at least one bigger was not uncommon in a couple hours if you hit it right. Buddies have not produced a pic of a 24" or better brown in several years. Buddy got a nice bow on a streamer last week 22-23" I'd guess. Think he said best brown was 18 or so. Several out.
