  1. Dunno, I just clean my fly lines after I fish, they seem to last. All SA lines. Have some silk fly lines that require drying and a coat of Red Tin Mucullin before and after use. Super thin diameters on the silk lines,, and they do cast great.
  2. Stinging nettle....itch weed. Poison Ivy is everywhere in MO. No poison oak or sumac in MO in my experience.

    What's Cooking?

Poppers turned out well. Put the jalapeños in some lime and salt this AM. Added a great flavor.
  4. Deer are not hard to kill....Have never taken a shot over 30 yards. Go shoot one. It is easy.
  5. Sweet Gills! Hope you had a good fry!
  6. My 13 year old daughter has a perception pescador. Her boat, and she loves it. Wife has a Jackson Coosa. The perception is a better hull IMO, but the seat is better in the Coosa.
  7. Jackson, Perception, Nucanoe....you will pay a bit more...but you will get a better boat. Still prefer a solo canoe 14' or longer. Holds more gear, weighs less. Paddles faster than any 12' SOT that I have owned.

    What's Cooking?

Today was the day! Wife and girls are at a friends farm in KS, had a perfect tomatoe. BLT with egg salad day! Trying some new jalapeño popper recipes too. No game, but pork tenders were cheap this week,
  9. Dig, monkey dodo, Cover the mess. Not hard to figure out...Shitter chairs are a luxury, but should include a magazine rack and assorted porn so everyone is happy. Wet Wipes! You can thaw them in your waders if they get frozen..
  10. The E-Tool is good for killing Commies for Mommy too! Always one in my kit!
  11. There is a campground, road right of the gate. Not sure if they have water or electric, but level pads big enough for most tow behind campers. Camped there once years ago in our old pop-up Coleman. Restrooms there were horrid. Bring a 5 gallon bucket.
  12. There is a book out there called "Up Sh*t Creek" about WW rafting guides who have to pack all the "stuff" out of the canyons. They use big military surplus ammo cans that they call "groovers". Winter Float Trip has an old folding chair with a toilet seat duct taped to where the cushion used to be...It show's up sometimes...A shovel is a must. Dig a cat hole and do your business in it. Cover up your mess and paper when your done. 100' from the river.
  13. Not a great topic to start with. Some good one's so far, LOL! Keep it nice! No perfect answer but there is one.
  14. You cant run more than 40hp, above Big Spring on the Current, which is downstream from town of Van Buren, and there is a section around Van Buren that is outside the park with no HP limits. Park boundary ends at Gooseneck Landing a couple miles north of Doniphan.
  15. I know where several are in the STL area, none presently for sale. My Current solo is a fiberglass 15’ Mad River. Mad River Slipper, made in the 1980’s. Paddles great. Hard to find. Wenonah Wilderness might work if you can find one.. There was guy who used to post here. Bigredbirdfan. I sold him a tan Wenonah Vagabond 12-14 years ago. He was in Springfield, MO or nearby. Maybe he is done with it. Gotta look till you find one. Took me 15 years to find a cherry aluminum ozark paddle jon.
  16. Yep keep yourself cool. Take a dip, and keep your hat wet. Ozark A/C. Park your chair in more than balls deep in the creek.

    What's Cooking?

Have not looked at this in awhile, wife has been home for 6 months and has been doing all the cooking. I agree with RPS’s wine recommendations. Find a wine you like, remember the variety, and where it’s grown. Try others of same variety, from the same area. Learned that from my Somelier ex GF. Married a friend of hers after we broke up. Wife and I still see her socially.
