  1. I was going to hook up with someone last year and see the stuff they had been working on. I can't remember if it was you or not. Would it be good to save my beat up red fins so a guy like you can fix them or is that difficult? My Mrs loves the redfin. I go with the Sammy quite often, but for some reason they like the redfin better. It is kind of fun when Shell (my wife) snickers at her good fortune with the redfin when I am strugling on another topwater bait.
  2. Don't mean to steal the tread, BUT redthin tweaks? Elaborate please?
  3. Champ! You are a pot stirrer!

ha! funny. I remember when i had that much hair! thinning out a little now. Also.....reason #376 for wearing lucky cap!
  5. I have read your report many times and was left kind of speechless. I really enjoy your work, your posts and your thoughts. It is especially pleasing as I watch the weather outside today. Thank you. I guess I lost the speechless part now though!
  6. The last week of April there is a large tournament going on, so I would skip that. The first week of May there is one on Tuesday with about 200 boats, but a good week of fishing. I would look at the third week of April or second week of May. If you have never fished Table Rock and can spare the change...a half day guide trip would be a good investment.
  7. Osrry for asking a dumb question, but what is the float and fly?

Wow! Sorry about losing the hook on the Megabass. You can replace it though right? Mind if I piggyback my report on yours? Had the same water temps around Aunt's Creek with a smidge cooler up by Piney Creek. I caught nothing. I threw the stickbaits and tried the spoon. I did try a shaky head for a few minutes. Marked a bunch of fish. Some were near bottom in the 31-35 foot range and some were suspended just off the bottom in the 40-44 foot range. I talked to two other guys and neither reported having even a bite. I did manage to lose quite a few spoons in the woody areas. Always nice to get the opportunity to replace the old tackle with new! I learned a bunch of things today and was reminded of others. I learned not to leave the Gulp Alive container in the boat during the winter. I learned it is even dumber to leave it setting on top of the rest of your tackle. I learned to make sure the boat lights are plugged in when you leave the ramp. It looks like a pile of bare wires when you get home if you don't. Any recommendations on someone to fix them? I was reminded I love Table Rock even when she treats me bad. I bumped into a good friend out there and I was reminded I need to stay in touch more. Great day for me. Hope others fared better. Hope that wasn't your booger picking finger there Denny!
  10. Another best wishes.
  11. I didn't even know they made them!
  12. Beats a sharp hook in the eye. Actually, a sharp hook in the eye would beat a dull rusty hook in the eye. Bulkl Shoals is a great idea. Would like to show my friend my beloved Table Rock some though. Sorry for starting one of the spring topics a bit early there Champ. Should we tackle catch and release and get it out of the way too? Just kidding.
  13. Going tomorrow!
  14. Happy Birthday!
  15. Hey! That is an excellent idea. Babler took me out last april and he didn't know I was marking the spots he took me to. Might be some good stickbait action over there. Hope my jigs work too though.
  16. Hmmmm. Sort of excited.
  17. It will be a bit uncomfortable. Might be interesting to see if they all go up the James, look for early beds or use the stickbait. Will be interesting either way. One way to stay out of the way is go in the afternoon and fish until dark, instead of the morning.
  18. I will follow you around then! I have a friend coming down from Minnesota for the week so can't change now. It will work out.
  19. I used to fish two or three times a week, minimum. Last year I think I went almost a month without fishing and hardly fished at all. I haven't used any vacation for two years. I need to get back at it this year. Something about being on the lake seems to make life better, more enjoyable and appreciate it more. Taking the last week in April off to fish! Beat the crowds and have some fun.
  20. White River Lodge is beautiful with a personal touch good choice! I always thought about taking the Mrs to Big Cedar for a weekend. It doesn't compare to White River Lodge though.
  21. Wow! Nice day!
  22. Well said and back at ya!
  23. Oh....I can backlash anything. Especially with some good wind.
  24. I started with and have a few BPS Extreme reels. They are durable but very heavy. They wear my arms out by the end of the day. We have a couple of the blue Clunn reels and like them better. My favorites are the Shimanos. I have one Citica and the other Shimanos that are well over the $100.00 mark. I will stay with the Shimanos in the future. I agree with the Citica. It is lighter and smoother than the Clunn BPS model. You can tell winter is coming on as we have moved to equipment topics.
  25. Buzzard cove is between points 13 and 14. It has good white bass action in the spring. I don't know where school house cove is.
