Wow! What happened? Table Rock forum used to be one of the most active friendly groups on OAF. If you don't like someone...don't hang with them. I do a lot of things for fun to include fishing. I tried Tournament Fishing and did not fare well. It turned something I did for fun and relaxation into work. I also ride horse, play guitar, smoke meat, grill, golf and several other hobbies that I do for relaxation and fun. I don't compete in any of them. Champ will attest to my sever lack of skill in golf! It's apparent that the original post is a fishing term called "trolling." I usually don't even reply to trolls but the tone just had me pondering. I read posts almost every day but don't post often as I haven't had time for fishing so have nothing to add in regards to fishing patterns. Someone please shoot me a message if it is a requirement to post every week to stay in the group.

Yeah the Rock is crazy. I have only fished Bull Shoals twice in my life! Would be starting all over with finding favorite spots etc.

I love Rivercut and Payne Stewart. Hate to recommend other places as I actually work for the Springfield Parks Department BUT, the new guys at Island Green are getting them fixed up. Slow on the rebound but a fun course to play too. Indian Tree is in the middle of Stone County north of Cape Fair. Not my fav by far but might be closer than other courses depending on where you stay. Hidden Valley is kind of a fun course too. I moved here from Alaska where I fished quite a bit. Before that I lived in International Falls for a decade or so and practically lived in my boat on Rainy Lake so thought I knew about deep clear lake fishing and not bad with a stick. Couldn't catch a cold on Table Rock until I took a ride with Bill Babler. Explained to him I didn't want a guide trip but a fishing lesson and he drove me around pointing out what to look for. The rest is history... 10 time Table Rock fishing champ! Okay maybe not but usually catch something even if it is just a cold.

I have been eyeing Bull Shoals more and more lately. Every time I end up going back to Table Rock because I love her. Just crazy there with traffic.

Brennan! I was hoping no one would notice that! He was born in the Kansas University Hospital in Kansas City so we are partial to that place. I wear my Owen hat on Owen days. He never takes his off. If I don't have mine on when he gets to our place , one of the first questions (there are many) is "where is your hat Papa?" Seems to delight my son-in-law to no end! Good fun!

Well not much of a report but thought I would share anyways. Took the (almost 3 year old) grandson, Owen, fishing. Pretty late start but working on his time frame. We were mostly seeing if the old Skeeter still worked and wanted to make sure he had fun. We put in at Flat Creek. Nice free ramp with ample parking. A couple of people using the only ramp there to work on their outboard so slow getting in the water. Kind of a bad day and time to use a free single ramp to work on your stuff and plug up the system for the rest of us but I guess to each their own. They moved out of the way fairly quick but stayed in the drive wanting me to squeeze through with my trailer. I didnt want to risk bumping someone elses rig and made them move. After they were out of the way got the Skeeter in the water an it started right up. Love the Yamaha 90! The bunk board on the trailer is about disintegrated though. Easy fix next time out! We mostly drove around running gas through the motor. We caught small Ks on the square bill and the Eakins jig with a twin tail. We fished in the Cape Fair area mostly where I knew they would be. Most of our stuff came in the 15-18' of water but not a real pattern because again we were just looking to get Owen a fish. We used to fish 4-5 times a week but worked a job with lots of hours for about 7 years and bought 15 acres where we built a house, fenced and currently working on a barn. Fishing was put on the back burner on simmer for way to long. Felt great to be back on the lake. Awesome day. This post has been promoted to an article

Lots of discussion on catch and release VS eat, Tourney fishing VS non-tourney fishing, sight fishing beds and other different points of view. In the end we are all fishing brothers and sisters! Way to go Wilson! RPS has saved a fella or two too.

Ooops! Sorry. Whatever you do Brad N Steph...don't waste your time there! Aunts Creek is really poor fishing too!

This is gossip as I didn't do myself but a friend likes to fish out of a kayak at Flat Creek. You can put in for free and not bad fishing off old sunken bridge and right around some bends there. Plus pretty good grub at Flat Creek when your done!

Hey John! No one is really going to tell you "where to catch some fish this week'" but if you read the posts they will tell you how deep, tackle used and the type of structure they are on. I think one of the fellas just posted about how deep in Flat Creek area. Another great option is to hire one of the guides on here for a half day and they will set you up for the rest of your visit. Lots of good guides but Bill Babler has always treated me well and steered me in the right direction! Hope you do well!

I agree...hire Babler for a half day. It will make the rest of your trip much more successful.

Hey sister. I have been golfing twice this year. The boss asked me to play on his four-man tournament one day. He wont do that again! You and Champ have permission to fish Aunt's Creek! Meet ya there for sammiches. Been a decade or so!

As I own Aunts Creek it is closed to most folk! Purchasing buckets of purple paint as I speak! You are welcome however. While I stay up on the reports, I don't type much as I had been working a job that didn't allow me to fish as much. I am back in the saddle a bit so to speak. Watch the reports. They will tell you where to look, depth of presentation and sometimes even speed of retrieve. Transition banks, swing points, etc. The cool thing about putting in at Aunts Creek is you can find almost any type of structure or bank without going to far. I can find almost anything I need from Point 9-13. You wont need to go far! Jackson Hollow is always good for something! On a side note it isn't talked much on here any more but I put the grandkid in the back of the boat dragging a fish doctor on a Carolina rig and always seems to catch something no matter the time of year.

I will stick with my little Skeeter and 90 horse. I only cry a little bit when get a dock ding!

Love golfing in cold weather, no waiting and if the ground is hard your drives bounce down the fairways forever (assuming it lands on the fairway)

I have been reading on the ned but didn't have any. From reading the forum, a must have! We only fished a few hours yesterday as my friend had other things going in the afternoon.

I have never had a problem with any vandalism. I do suspect someone was messing with trailer tires this time as I had a new valve stem put on a tire and moved the trailer forward when tightening the lug nuts. I know the passenger side tire lug nuts were tight. On top of that I visited with guy in the booth at the entrance for a minute and did not hear any noise from the tires as I drove in, but noise from both tires when we drove out. Anyways....was just trying to give fellow fishermen a heads up. We went fishing again yesterday but did not fair as well. Had small Ks on top water early then died. Water was calm and still. Did visit with a couple of guys fishing the Cape Fair tourney who said they had two keepers on the fluke.

Except for the gar and lug nuts, today was almost a carbon copy of yesterday. The daughter was willing to go with. We put in at Cape Fair and not a lot of trash in the water but some...back to old stomping grounds tomorrow.
