  1. thank you sir. was hoping more of a flat bite. Going to be camping at Crabtree...got some points we will pull over like you said from 10' to 25' till we find them see how it goes. Appreciate it!
  2. Hey there Limit me and the old man are gonna be there this weekend. Were you Bb’ing?
  3. put in at Beaver around 3 and fished till 10. Lots of blue gill stealing the worms and boated some also. Nothing of any size though. The youngster caught his first walleye a little over 18” and that ended up being the only one of the night. Had a couple other nice ones that came off before we got to the boat. I got hooked up on something that was big but never got a look at it. Didn’t feel like a walleye but who knows I need to get down thst area a little more and try to figure it out. Not being real familiar with the depths I am sure we could of done better if I did a better job staying on the channel breaks. Also that water being up puts some of those breaks below the thermocline assuming my graph was reading right?? It was real faint on the sonar side but when I ran split screen with DI it was very clear. Wish we could of caught more but overall a great night to be on the water.
  4. Thanks guys. I was gonna call down to Kdock and see what they had to say. Can just put in at Beaver and run down lake a little bit to where I am fairly familiar to the area. JQL - glad to hear you been doing well. Mojo- I will be sure to take plenty of orange
  5. Got some family in Branson and the dad is wanting to get his oldest boy out fishing. They are in town for a softball tourney but have Friday evening free. Would like to take them to Stockton as that is my preferred fishing hole where I have some success. With all going on for them was thinking to head to Kdock or put them in at Beaver if need be. I fish for walleye 90% of the time. Love to bottom bounce. Figured I could give it a go down that direction Friday evening. I fished Kdock a few summers ago on the big flat right there just up lake from the marina. Fished the channel breaks and did okay. Trolling motor battery ended up being dead so I couldn’t do my normal thing. Any advice would be appreciated. Hoping to show them a new area and maybe catch some fish. I usually pull 2oz bottom bouncers with spinner rigs I like to tie up. Spin n glows and smile blades With slow death hooks at 1mph or so. Figured if that wasn’t working could jig some bink spoons. Once it starts to get dark will probably move a little more shallow and further off the channel breaks. Thats the plan anyhow. Thanks guys
  6. North end of the lake nearly as far as you can go

    Walleye

Was out Monday with the wife. Caught 11, 5 keepers, among plenty other fish. All on bottom bouncers, 18-20 FOW. Wife hooked up the first 3-4 fish on Spin N Glow Chartruese colors. I was using orange smile blade rig and it started catching the most fish later. Fished from about 1:30-6:30 Funny how one rig will catch fish, then turn off, and another will heat up. Love tying my own stuff, so like to switch it up if something isn't working. When I am by myself I try to run two poles, and whatever catches the first fish, I put the other down for awhile. Had plenty of gills, drum, and a few real nice SMB. A few real nice channels as well. Wasn't much wind, the heat was pretty tough.
  8. Lurked around here and have Pm’ed a few but figured I would try to post more. Wife and kids still back at the families from Memorial day weekend so figured I would get out this afternoon and give it a shot. Upper lake put in around 3:30. Trolled awhile and only had one small white bass. Hadn’t ever fished up in the area so I wanted to troll to get an idea of the lake. Once I knew what was what I bottom bounced with 2 oz pulling a few different spinners caught first one on orange so just went that way rest of day had my 4 by 6 or so. All caught around 18-20 ft of water. I just use my trolling motor at the medium speed. Had a couple nice bluegills and this real nice SM. Little hot but was a great day nonetheless. 2 16” fish and a 17.5” and 18”

  10. Well that about sums up my luck. Had some motor issues and wasn't able to get out. Chomper looks like a helluva time. Good work there!!!
  11. Was thinking about taking the youngster out tonight or in the morning. Anybody been seeing the white bass busting the tops? Been out there the last few weekends and yet to find any busting the surface.
  12. Took the wife and kids out yesterday to Stockton. Put in at the Mutton Creek ramp. Was a nice day, got a little hotter than I was hoping though. Water temp was 75-77. Trolled the big cove south of Hawker on the west side. Caught a few white bass, and one 17" walleye coming out of there. Caught a few other large mouth trolling. With the little kids its always tough to stay in one spot very long but we manage. Didn't mark a lot of fish at all. The one area we tried vertically jigging the Binks with no luck. Overall nice day on the lake.
  13. I got one 4-5 years ago for $300. Never did really use it until the last 2-3 years. I had a longtail mud motor on it and it worked good, but I had a few times when the handle got away from me and the longtail will push that thing sideways and you will take on water QUICK. Got to be careful. I still have the longtail but recently put a surface drive on it. Now I absolutely love it. Only thing is if it is just me it gets back heavy. Need to spread the weight. I put another seat in the middle for when it is just me in there and I can drive it from the center of the boat. With this 6.5 hp Surface Drive I can run about 12 mph. I also put Linex on the entire bottom. I don't have to worry about busting a hole or running it on shore when I need. I took it to Fellows the other day with the 6 and 3 yr old. They love it. I weigh a little over 200 lbs and can stand on the side rail and not flip it. These things are stable as they come. I feel more comfortable in a gheenoe than I do in a really small jon boat. Here are a few pics of my rig with the longtail when I lived in KS and duck hunt the KS River. I don't have any pics of the rig with the surface drive and in the water.
  14. Well I got the boat ramp and things didn't work out very well....quite quickly. Had a dead cranking battery. So I switched batteries and played that game for awhile. Didn't end up fishing for as long as I had hoped. Marked a huge amount of shad just around the point from the KDock boat ramp to the north. That cove was loaded with shad and fish feeding on them. I couldn't get a single one to take anything though. I tried trolling through, bottom bouncing through, topwater, binks spooning......you name it and couldn't get a hit. Not sure what was feeding on those shad.........I guess I assumed mostly white bass but again just no luck triggering any action. That big flat right out from the boat ramp seems to me like would be a good bottom bouncing spot through summer......trolling it as well. Just wasn't any good for me Saturday.
  15. Was going to head to KDock or Tucker Hollow and spend tomorrow afternoon early evening doing some fishing. Only fished Bull Shoals once 4-5 years ago with Mr. Worley with my old man. Had a great time. Moved down to Springfield about a year and a half ago, got a fishing boat now so trying to get out some. Any advice on fishing around this area? Really like the walleye fishing, but know it may be a tough time right now. Was back at the families in central Kansas over the weekend and we hammered the white bass on the wind blown banks. The shad were really grouped up and the white bass were having a feast. Caught plenty that already had 1 or 2 in their mouth already. Figured I would look for shad and do some general exploring. Never been on the lake around this area. When we went with Mike we stayed at the Wagon Wheel and went from there. Thanks fellas.
