I have a idea. Let's try to make our beloved ozark streams a destination for anglers across the nation for trophy smallmouth. The fact is, if I decided I wanted to eat smallmouth- I could clean the meramec out in a 20 mile area from my house 5 fish a day. I fish 4 days a week Do the math You seem very smart. Figure it out. Electro fishing is not a good way to see what's in the water. Wait till it's cold and the water is Crystal clear. Then go gig I enjoy gigging but I think if they would make the penalty for stabbing whatever you see it would change the equation

Bank fishing is very popular down there but, the fish definitely move nonstop this time of year so it could be real good for a short period then go dead. I had a boat fishing below me the other day that was saying the fish weren't there yet meanwhile we were catching some dandies in his already fished water. The lower meramec has the dumbest fish I've ever seen. You just gotta find em. I'm not saying to give up bank fishing but you might get frustrated of hours of nothing I am a little mean I guess but it makes me giddy to stop and fish out of reach of them poor guys and slam a few fish and drive off. My river pro is in for service so I'm gonna have to take a break from fishing The bite is completely shut down anyway and the fish have all swam away to somewhere else and it's too nice of weather to fish

River is still up a tad. Not too bad of color though. Been catching whites 3 days in a row and walleye every trip for last few days.

There's days on lower river where all we catch are spots and whites I guess I should keep em but not a fan of eating bass over 11". I have a couple lakes where they want em out So I keep little ones there

Another push of dirty water Came up a few inches. Soft plastics and top water are the hot bite. Seeing a lot of fish chasing big shad so I've been throwing spooks and 6" slugs with a lot of luck. I'm missing my buzz bait box. Blew out of boat? Someone snatched it at gas station ? Idk but I'm tired of looking for em.

I've never really seen them on any streams mostly rivers. That would be precarious on a stream
