In a nutshell. I have COPD which to a degree I live with ok. However in the last two weeks I have been suffering from an out of this world painful backache the cause I assume was from getting contorted stack two Rick of firewood. Before this occurance I noticed failing eyesight in my right eye. Yesterday I go to the Missouri Eye Institute with the idea a cataract is the problem (to a degree it is) but after evaluation it's determined I have more pressing problem that needs addressed first. Macular Degeneration. Which is treated by sticking a needle in your eyeball. Now to today I head to Bolivar about my back problem and after Xrays there is a possibility an old healed cracked vertebrae my be causing inflammation. Next step is a call from them to do an MRI and hopefully not interfere with the call to stick a needle in my eye. Currently I don't have diarrhea or an ingrown toenail

Arkansas fan here, but I'm really high on the Missouri team. The SEC this year is brutal. Even a one win South Carolina team has played some close games. They beat a highly ranked Clemson team before league play started. No doubt Grill will get the 6th man award. Auburn hasn't been as dominate as they were earlier. Nothing would surprise when the SEC tournament is played.

A friend and I had 14 keepers in brush 20' deep Saturday just north of Crab Tree cove. They all must have been out of the same class. None were very big.

Thought I'd open up a new topic. Since the format change there seems to be little activity. There are good reports lake wide fishing brush in 15-20"of water on jigs and Minnows. Cautioned advised, especially in the creek arms. The lake is 7' below normal Water temp is still relatively warm fo thos time of year. Lats week it was low 70s

I couldn't bring up the link. Maybe if I could I would understand how collecting more water in the lake would reduce sediment in the lower lake

The lake is in excellent shape right now. At 875 it's 8' above normal. The best species to fish for at present are walleye and catfish bottom bouncing nightcrawlers. The white bass are surfacing in the last hour of the day in a lot of places. Day time bass fishing is probably best flipping the 100 miles of buckbrush. One other type of fishing which is seldom done is using a long pole with a pinch of worm and bream fishing shallow water. They are spawning now. Stockton has some really nice ones.

Back in the late 70s early 80s I got seriously involved in fishing bass tournaments. Bobby Sullivan, Terry Thomas and a host of locals were some of the top fisherman. Lefty and Marty were absolutely two of the best to ever fish Table Rock. I mainly met the two when I was congratulating them for winning a tournament

We did make it out in the swirling winds Monday at the Bolivar landing. It was near impossible to find a bank not wind blown. You are dead on about the fish. Caught a few shallow and some off ledges in 8' of water. Brought home 11 all over 10". Threw back about that many. All on 1/16 oz roadrunners. Water temp was 63

I have a sister in law that recently moved close to the lake. She wants me to take her crappie fishing. She is close to the Bolivar landing. I live on Stockton and have been doing fairly well. Any suggestions what depth to start in

My last serious bass tournament days occurred in the 80s and 90s. Because of my lack of talent and work schedule I only occasionally cashed a check. However the guys I competed against nearly all had decent jobs to support a family without going broke with a bass rod in their hand. Charlie Campbell, Jerry Ruark, Terry Thomas and Bobby Sullivan were all regulars that I was privileged to share a boat with. The High school bass circuit seems to be a fun experience for the kids. I just hope the 99% that never make a living at it have a trade or profession other than fishing.

I never found a money list other than first was 300,000. I assume it was like previous years. Second last year was $50,000. Money wise it doesn't live up to its billing

I fished Grand for the better part of 40 years when I lived in Joplin. The majority of bass seem to occupy water in less than 10' of water. There should be a good jerk bait bite in the lower end going on.

These are a lot of good suggestions. I still like to let line out behind the boat (no lure) especially after throw some crappie baits all day.

I have recently been using a left hand reel for throwing jerk baits after a lifetime of using a right hand reel. I am now equally adept at backlashes with both hands.

The top ten. Winner 19 years old. Four were in their 20s. Five were in their 30s. For the most part none have been around long enough to accumulate a lot of tournaments, but all have been successful ending up in the money most of the time. No more than these tournaments pay its imperative to cash at minimum 50% of the time unless the sponsorship is outstanding. $43,000 to fish 9 tournaments. There is a possibility to pay only $19,500 depending on how well you do. Tenth place was only $15,000. Not a very good return for a $4,800 bet. Some of the younger contestants probably aren't saddled with as much pressure since their principal address is their parents basement.

That was my thinking too Wrench. I know very few bass fisherman that don't tournament fish at one time or another. Every once in awhile someone will post a bass their fixing to eat on some social media sites to create a big stir

Since a new era of deep water 3" minnow bait fishing has been unleashed will the manufacturers of power poles, crank baits, spinner baits, etc. etc. etc see sales plummet.? Let's just say I wouldn't be too keen on investing in their stock.

Growing up in NW Arkansas in the early 60s when GF was impounded I always heard of giant walleye in this lake. Were they original river fish incorporated into the population. Is the lake still productive?
