  1. Yes sir! We're the ugly crestliner that was staying at unit on the end. I think its gonna be a couple weeks before we get back down.
  2. went a couple of rounds with Stockton this past weekend. Probably the best weekend of fishing we have ever had on that lake. We never left Mutton Creek! started saturday tossing swimming minnows around the dock in the back of the cove and we must have caught 40 9" crappie, only 1 or 2 keepers. most were still full of eggs. once the skunk was good and out of the boat, we went up to the norther inside point and jig/crawlered up a short walleye and some jerkbait bass, including a 17" smallie. saturday afternoon we did some bottom bouncing and got a LMB and a walleye, then started jigging crawlers along the inside 100 yds of the southern point in 15' having one rod hanging a crawler off the bottom, and another pitching swimming minnows up shallow kept us fully entertained until dark. probably another 30 9" post spawn crappie with a couple slabs mixed in, along with walleye, channel cat, drum, white bass. first day ended with 4 keeper walleye and 6 keeper crappie plus one unlucky bluegill, and more short crappie and walleye than i think i have ever caught in stockton total. started sunday morning back at the dock to try to find more crappie, but they had all but shut down. a bass fisherman with a livescope came by and said the fish were still stacked up, just not biting, so we started trolling out to the point where we had caught walleye the night before. we got a keeper walleye and a slab crappie dragging cranks. jigging worms on the point got another keeper walleye and some shorts and bass. sunday afternoon we spent the entire time trolling cranks for crappie out in the middle of the cove, just doing big loops. 15 keepers and most of those were 12"+ 2x that many that we didnt bother to measure, and a couple baby walleye suspending out there. yesterday morning we stuck with the trolled cranks and they were not having it. we picked up a few babys here and there and then headed for home. 6 keeper walleye and 22 slab crappie with more shorts and "by catch" than we could count is a pretty amazing weekend for us, considering the numbers that we caught fishing unconventionally(for us bottom bouncing and jigging crawlers is new territory) thanks again to everybody on here that keeps the info coming so that we can have weekends like this!!
  3. What did you catch the walleyes on, if you don't mind me asking?
  4. thats great! Congrats to the young hunter as well! ive never even seen a triple bearded bird!
  5. Awesome weekend!. Springtime Missouri surf and turf! what were the walleye biting on? did you get a weight on that gobbler?
  6. it really was! one of the rare days where it was more catchin' than fishin'!!
  7. was at lake 6 for a bit. on the side where the boats are. was tossing a little jig around and accidently caught an egg laden 11" white crappie at the end of cast just hanging the jig a 2' out and 2' down. was looking ahead to the next cast and she almost snatched my rod out of my hand. i probably ended up catching 30 or 40, mostly tiny 6"ers, but would have had enough 9"+ to feed the wife and i had i been keeping them. a 7' rod and 7' of line out caught the vast majority. there were times i would catch 8 or 10 without even touching the reel. just dip and lift. lots of fun.
  8. went to lake 33 on Saturday before the storms hit. ive been trying to teach myself how to catch catfish, i want to catch a 50lber before its all said and done. so far all i have managed to this point were channel cats, but i heard rumors that they put blues in a couple of lakes, and... caught 2 little baby blues and an even smaller channel. the blues checked off a bucket list fish for me, so even though they are tiny, i was giggly like a schoolgirl
  9. went back up on Sat 3/13. fished lake 36 without a bite, then met my brother at 35 for a while and we only caught 2 crappie and a handful of small bass. tried deep, tried shallow, must have tried a dozen different colors, just a bunch of tight lipped SOB's
  10. thats where i was on Sunday, on Saturday, i was down at the other end and had about the same results. if you ever see a big guy fishing near a silver explorer up there come say hi!
  11. not too bad. a couple of guys along the dam, but not crowded at all.
  12. went to the darn on lake 35 saturday and sunday. fishing jigs and minnows under a float 4-6' deep. had a good couple of days, 22 crappie over 9"(personal limit), at least that many shorter than 9", and a handful of small bass.
  13. awesome markings on that 2nd smallmouth! beautiful. nice trip.
  14. awesome markings on that 2nd smallmouth! beautiful. nice trip.
  15. any sort of natural with green or purple in it seem to do well for me on Stockton. Keitech Electric shad and Silver Flash Minnow are 2 of my favs 2-3" for crappie 3-5" for bass/walleye
  16. external factors influence color choices as much as anything. water clarity, clouds/sun, etc... i would at least keep one natural color and one unnatural(chart, black, pink,...) ready to go. if the graph shows fish should be there, then i wouldn't leave the area without throwing at least 2 or 3 different colors.
  17. we put out spore logs a few years back, had really good production for a couple of years. it was fun.

  19. what depth would you start at? or do you watch the graph for an idea of where they are holding at?
