  1. It won't let me upload anymore. I think the file sizes are too big? Anyway, it's been a fun spring so far!
  2. I don't like posting a lot for several reasons, but one is to not come across as bragging or be the look at me type. That being said this will probably come across wrong, but I have been on them for at least a month now.
  3. Went back and found them again. Water temps dropped to 58 from the front that pushed through.
  4. If it makes you feel any better, one of my 4 year old daughters let go of a carbonlite rod and pfleuger patriarch reel($320+tax for both) 3 weeks ago while reeling in a hybrid at Truman. She got scared and thought it was going to pull her in, lol. Luckily they dropped the lake 6 feet and I was able to find it a week later. I would suggest going back and looking when the water level goes down. You will probably find it if someone else doesn't first.

    Hybrids

Yes they are. A little too big for my 4 year old daughters, lol. They each did great on their first fish, but gave up after 5 minutes of cranking on their second ones.

    Hybrids

Found them and they were hungry. Left them biting. Water temps 61.5 where we were fishing.
  7. I personally saw 2 spoonbill hooked up by the cable within 3 casts on Friday. I doubt they were stripers with the water temp being so low. I would think you would here more about it if people were catching 20lb stripers off the bank, but who knows? They usually don't show up this early from my experience.
  8. Yes. Drake, old city ramp and Bledsoe ramps are all closed.
  9. I have only fished it once. It had a kayak and one other boat in there, but don't know how it gets when the crappie spawn?
  10. If you are talking about clear creek up by the tebo islands, then yes, it is a gravel road that ends in the lake. The lake is still about 9 feet high so you should be good to launch a sizable boat there right now.
  11. Yeah I didn't understand where you were asking either? The brush creek I know if is up in osceola and yes it has a ramp, but it is not on TT?
  12. The city ramp parking lot is gravel, but there is a concrete ramp there. It's old and not the best but I use it when the harbor is crowded.
  13. All ramps in Warsaw will be closing at midnight tonight. Fyi
  14. Bledsoe is directly below the dam and is closed. Drake harbor is open but very crowded and they just posted signs of no trailer parking outside of harbor parking lot, which is filling up daily. There is the old city ramp just upstream from drake at the 7 hwy bridge, but no courtesy docks.
  15. Seems pretty straight forward like others have stated. My take is there are other factors downstream, like I thought, that affect these current releases.
  16. Since wrench knows everything, maybe he can go change regulations set forth by Congress, fix these water level issues and then clean out all of lifetime politicians for us. I would definitely support that. Please start with the HOR when you get to the hill. 😄
  17. I would be more than willing to come help you catch them, just to ease that fisherman's elbow of course! I'll even provide the boat! Just tell me when and where!
  18. I was referring to cross timers and down to Avery area. I wish they would stock them in pomme. Closer to Springfield, lol
  19. Why don't more people talk about catching hybrids up there? It's not like the main lake where people can fish on top of you and I know they are there because I caught a few nice ones on an exploratory trip when the lake was 14 feet high earlier this year. They were running enough water that I was able to get my targa 20 up past sugar camp hollow.
  20. It is around 16,000 every other year. Half at k dock and half at Theodosia.
  21. Like I said, the fish have different growth rates at different lakes. Bull shoals is a completely different water system with different forage which is why they are growing faster. THAT is why it is better than LoZ. Also, other than one specific area during a specific time, hardly any are caught at bull shoals every year. You have never worked on any of my equipment so I assume you weren't talking to me. Also, the 150,000 stocking mentioned earlier in the thread were fry, which is totally different situation to how they are stocking bull shoals. Trying to compare bull shoals to LOZ is like comparing a trout hatchery to a lake. They are two completely different situations.
  22. Siusaluki, you should just give up. I haven't joined the debate because I learned a while ago he won't admit when he speaks out of ignorance, won't admit when he is wrong and is hypocritical. Some of his retorts in this thread alone prove that. He reads or is told all his information, but then says he doesn't believe what he's told or "fed" by literature. It's not worth your time arguing with him. You are correct, they do stock pure strain striped bass in LOZ, usually with overages once they are done stocking Bull Shoals. Him stating that there had not been a stocking for over 20 years and understands how hard natural reproduction is should tell his common sense that they have been stocked. MDC stocked them 2013, 2015 and 2017 after stocking bull shoals. I have been helping them track growth rates there. You are correct that habitat influences growth at different lakes. The ones in bull shoals are averaging 3-4 lbs a year. I have been catching them since they began stocking. There is 4 definitive weight classes there as well. 5-8 lbs, 12-16 lbs, 20-24 lbs and then the old dinosaurs that range from 26 lbs up to 60 lbs that were accidentally introduced by AGFC in 1998.
  23. Nice fish. Didn't realize I responded to this thread. Must have been a butt reply, lol Edited to an acceptable reply now.
  24. How deep were you fishing when you caught your big catfish?
  25. They are running a lot of water through both dams so that is what is causing the current. You should try Warsaw next time. The catfish bite has been excellent. We have been catching at least one over every trip with several slot fish and a ton of unders.
