The boys stop at Beaver
LittleRedFisherman replied to LittleRedFisherman's topic in General Angling Discussion
I love it as well -
Super proud of these boys this past weekend, first place at beaver lake in the Arkansas Youth bass nation! Leading in points for a team of the year in the Jr. division going into the spring! They decided on a game plan about 9 o’clock that morning after Catching one in the back of a creek, and stuck with it and it paid off. we had talked to a couple angler captains at their stop last month at norfork and they referred to Beaver as the Dead Sea. They may have just got lucky but it fished good for them, I’d go back there for sure someday. Anyhow they made a great memory there Sunday , hope one they won’t forget.

What a weekend!
LittleRedFisherman replied to LittleRedFisherman's topic in General Angling Discussion
I don’t think so these days many of these senior high teams are trying to make it to colleges like Bethel and so forth, it’s a growing thing for sure. And thanks they are having a blast as am I. -
The boys had 2 tournaments this weekend both on norfork, NEA trail and youth bass nation. Saturday and Sunday were two different days, hot and still on Saturday and cooL cloudy and windy on Sunday. The topwater bite wasn’t there Saturday but it was Sunday. Saturday was a tough bite for many and the boys were struggling to catch a 15 inch keeper. But spots could be 12, so I coached them into chasing some spots to get some in the livewell. We went to a point that we found some on earlier and they managed to get 2 13 inchers. That bite stopped and after struggling To get another keeper with 20 minutes to Go landen wanted to Fish at the bridge. With 10 or 15 minutes left he managed to catch a 2 pounder. That turned out to be enough for first place. Sunday was a different day with a great bite that morning, they managed 4th place in a larger field Sunday. Those boys were on cloud 9. There coach was happy to but needless to say I sure slept good Sunday night lol. Fun times. Bret

Well fished another Tuesday nighter this week and had a surprise. WhilE fishing around a brush pile with a drop shot hooked into the fight of my life on spinning tackle. Took 15 minutes to land it. Might of been longer of had not had someone else in the boat. Working on a full video of it eventually, but here’s a clip where it showed itself for the first time, it wasn’t done tho and the battle went on another 5 minutes after this clip. In case your wondering it was 8 pound seagaur invisx with my old trusted st croix avid x I’ve had for 7 years. It’s my good luck charm maybe.

Goldfish, flatheads love them -
My roots growing up in the delta was catfishing. It’s just what we did anytime we got a weekend off the tractor! I haven’t limblined as much in recent years, but last night I turned back the clock with son and had a blast fishing some of the same spots and holes I fished 30 years ago. I have on area I call the guaranteed hole, it came through yet again! Looking forward to supper!

Oh yes I’ve been to that concert a time or 10 lol. -
The boys HS toruny season starts again soon so been getting them out on the water some during this little break getting some timely rains! Last couple weeks we’ve fished some of the lakes around hardy and Cherokee, plus some fun on the river. Went to Greers ferry Saturday and that one kicked our butt again. That lake doesn’t like us lol. But did find some deep Kentuckys, caught one over 40 feet deep. After 11 it was like fishing in a washing machine on the main lake. They have a warm up benefit Tourny there in a couple weeks with Mark Rose speaking and giving his testimony the night before with a fish fry, looking forward to that! It’s felt good to get back on the water, even won first place in a Tuesday nighter a couple weeks ago, hope to fish it tommorrow night if weather allows. Guess just checking in as I haven’t in awhile here. Gonna start being more active on here again. How’s the fishing been for y’all lately on there dog days of summer. Bret.

The memorial weekend bite was on as usual at my favorite lake last weekend! Played around with some different artificials and got landen and my dad on them as well. Didn’t even bass fish, it’s fun to turn back the clock sometimes and fish like you did as a kid!

Live scope Mount
LittleRedFisherman replied to Phil Lilley's topic in Tips & Tricks, Boat Help and Product Review
Thanks for sharing Phil. Gonna try to do a on the water demo soon I’ll share here. So far I love this mount -
Other than some Tuesday nighters in Cherokee village I’ve never fished many tourneys . This winter my buddy Chad and I decided to try our hand on a winter one being held in norfork last Saturday. We’ve fished a few times there this winter and learned some stuff about the lake. It seems there’s a lot of difference in a 2.5 and a 3 pounder there. But apparently there’s alot of them. We placed 6 out of 20 Saturday and there where some good local guys there so felt pretty good about our place on the board. Have to admit it was fun and that extra adreline you get when you land a good one during a tornament feels good. Not gonna fish every one they have or anything but will do it again sometime. My buddy and I had a 5 fish limit of 11.6. We had a main lake plan but when the north wind switched a lot of those areas was like fishing Great Lakes ha ha. Figured out a new plan as we went it was fun.

Garmin Livscope update
LittleRedFisherman replied to aarchdale@coresleep.com's topic in General Angling Discussion
I’ve done the update on mine and I like it. Some turn the gain up to 80 and color limit out the fuzz to 70 percent. For me I like the gain around 70 and the color limit around 45 to 50. I could see a crappie jig at 40 feet and really nice for a drop shot or a dimiki rig. Screen is clear I like it so far. Bret -
My goal is about the same every year. Fish when I can when life allows and don’t waste a good opportunity especially with my son fishing!
-
That awesome Les. I’ve been wanting to chase the crappie but been bit with the walleye bug lately.
-
That’s a certified dandy right there. Congrats man
