  1. I never ask Sugarbritches if anything is a good idea. And I only WISH, just once, that she would chime in about any of my ideas......so that I can freely critique some of hers. 🙄
  2. Yeah I've heard that line of BS (from the same source) before. 🙄
  3. I like it ! 👍 Thanks
  4. 7 miles in waders? Good grief! You're a marathon man! Never have I ever.... Surely it wasn't in vain. Let's see some dang FISH PICS ! 👍
  5. I still do. Particularly the Spoonbill deep Rogues.
  6. You might be right, but I prefer to eliminate as much stretch as I can. I fish for Whites and Green/Brown bass alot....and they are masters at the suck-in/spit-out trick. Just seems like stretchy line assists them in doing that. I'm a pretty aggressive hook setter. Since stretchy line isn't a factor for you, would you want to buy a few lines in perfectly new condition? If so make me an offer and I'll send them your way. I have a WF-4-F and two WF-7-F's that I know of..... possibly another. Oh and while we're at it....... are there any SA Sharkskin lovers in the crowd? I have 2 of those that need new homes. A WF-7-F and a WF-8-F. Absolutely as good as new.
  7. Not a fan of flavored liquor. Ruined myself on Sloe Gin when I was a teenager, and still can't enjoy cherry pie, cherry jelly, or even a cherry lifesaver. Ruined myself on Fireball about 5 years ago, but luckily I still love cinnamon rolls.
  8. Well I can tell you how I do it..... I grab 3ft. of it and pull about as hard as it takes to break 4x tippet material, and see how far it "rubber-bands".... then I multiply that by 10. It matters as soon as I get a bite. I'd rather not have to set the hook & fight a fish with anything resembling a bungee cord if I can rig up with something less stretchy. The rod flexes, the leader stretches.....and if the line stretches like crazy TOO....... it's a wonder that we ever even get to touch a fish ! There's all of that.....and then guys worry about how sharp their hooks are. No Wonder! 😅
  9. Me too. Everything except their fly line...... It's a bit too stretchy for my taste, but I'm overly picky about that. It casts and floats perfectly fine.
  10. Bought my youngest daughter a pair of Piscifun waders, and honestly I'm blown away. Same material, same seam tape, same everything as my middle of the line Simms.....at a mere fraction of the price. Unless you are an overly large person, or are shaped kinda odd, there's no need that I can fathom for buying top-of-the-line waders or boots. You can buy 3 pair for less than the price of ONE, and carry a spare. The days of needing to buy "top of the line" gear, in order to have decent quality, are GONE. Welcome to the new world! 👍 For the last several years I repeatedly find myself rather unimpressed with products from the big 3-6 names in flyfishing gear. They ain't doing anything special that I can comprehend...... except for alot of advertising and pro-staffing.
  11. Typical. Everything fishing related that I fall in love with is soon to be unavailable. This is why I have boxes upon boxes of surplus tackle and gear. I've learned to grossly overstock anytime I can afford it. 🙄
  12. The OD green breathable's with the large breast pocket, gravel guards, and double layered from the knees down. Been through 3 pairs, and I still have one pair, that I still use for Spring white bass fishing, that are on their 5th or 6th year. Each pair has lasted longer than their accompanying BOOTS, that's for sure. My Simms Freestones (or whatever they are called) will be lucky to last 3 years....just like the previous ones of the same pedigree.
  13. My experience reflects that too. From what I can tell, the key is SIZING. Better (more expensive) waders usually offer more sizing options, and if you get the right size FOR YOU.....then they will typically last a few years longer. Either way, throughout your life, you'll have spent the same amount on waders. I'm torn on the "Turning inside out to dry" thing. On 2 occasions, the waders that I never bothered washing or turning inside out to dry have lasted noticably longer. Even though they were only mid-priced Hodgeman's. Yeah they were gross and looked like hell.....but bygod they kept me dry for way longer than all the other HIGH DOLLAR ones that I pampered and toiled over.
  14. Yeah it's the same stuff that we laced billfolds together with in Cub Scouts. 😅
  15. Turkey honey is like pancake syrup. Too sticky for my taste.
  16. Did you ever do the "braided swanundaze nymph"? Looks SO COOL! But the only thing I ever caught on them was a 3# channel cat, and a few bluegill.
  17. Oh I think you'd remember if you did exceptionally well with them. The fly patterns that I've done well with, more than once, will NEVER be forgotten. Etched into my memory forever. Likely because when I got back home I tied 4+ dozen of them.....and then immediately went out and bought materials to tie even more. 😅 I guarantee that I own more LY089 Mohair and MG089 Chickabou than anyone in the United States. 😁
  18. I do refuse to take my shoes off at the door. I like a tidy home.... But I can't feel comfortable living in a house that is THAT clean.
  19. We talk/message through FB almost daily. Not in my back yard it won't. In the time it takes a Puglisi baitfish concoction to reach 6' I'll already have 3 in the boat on the Clouser.
  20. For Smallies I'd agree. The Sparkleminnow pattern got ruined when guys started using wire "dubbing brushes". I can't explain why, but the original G.C. way of building them is noticably better. Nevertheless I can't make one outfish a Clouser minnow for Whites/hybrids/mutts. There's something about the transparency, and rate of fall, that makes a Clouser minnow practically unbeatable for temperates.
  21. Oh yeah it's nice......until you get overwhelmed with cleaning up goose/duck poop and unending dock maintenance. Then you start looking for a place that's "second tier". Been there/done that ! Grass grows faster lakeside as well. You'll be mowing/weed eating twice a week.
  22. That'd be an ignorant choice on your part, amigo. I may be hard for you to take, but at least I don't chew on extension cords and $#!t on the floor.
  23. Here locally, a single wide trailer caught fire because of a space heater, and 14 "pets" were killed. Just imagine, if you will....... living in a single wide trailer with 14 animals!!!! At that number does it really matter if they were dogs, cats, snakes, or guinea pigs? People can be SO GROSS! 🤮 And so stupid. Of course the community is all pitching in to help re-clothe and re-locate the owner. Sorry, but I recommend taking their Van to the River ! I have zero sympathy.
  24. Well you're one up on Me, because I didn't even know "Polly" was a man. Who names their male child Polly ?
