Mercury, Yamaha, Suzuki, Honda parts, especially the newer ones still under warranty...... Yep 🙄 (Wouldn't it suck to have just bought a nearly-new rig and have it down until July because the part needed was unavailable?) No problems getting Evinrude/Johnson parts at all. 👍 (4 days max). Not aware of any fishing supplies that are unavailable.

I'm gonna guess that he is targeting suspended fish around release areas at just the right time. I'd love to know how he is learning the timing of the bite. If you just knew THAT then you really wouldn't need FFS, because when they turn on they'll chase a bait a pretty fair distance. But if you pound them with casts before they are ready to go bonkers..... it'll put them off and scatter them. The only thing I can figure is that during practice he is just following them around, watching them, and somehow figuring out their schedule.

It ONLY works for rivers/streams, and the upper ends of creek arms on reservoirs.....which is where I understood that the OP was wondering about. A couple days of nice weather has very little effect on the lower ends of big reservoirs.

I could try, but I'm not in the mood right now, and probably won't be for awhile. Besides, it will invariably just start another argument. 😅 What app isn't malware? I've found WeatherBug to be the most accurate of all the weather apps I've tried. They are also the first to update their data when conditions change.....as they always do. It matters most on the hourly forecast.

If you truly had an average high of 74° for 3 days straight, and average lows of 45° for 3 days straight.....then yes. But you won't.....so NO you will not have 59° stream surface temp by Friday. Just because it gets up to 74° for 1 hour each day does not make your average high 74° What you can expect however (according to the WeatherBug app and my calculations for your region) is 48.5° (give or take a degree or two) surface temp. Please check it Friday and let me know if I'm wrong. Thx 🙂

That's impressive. I never did any trapping myself, but I did go through a period of rather serious predator hunting with a couple buddies when we had access to a lot of farming and strip mining land. To think that someone could have done far better by estimating where a critter would put its foot......than we ever did by glassing from ridgetops with high powered rifles, using bait and calls, ect......is rather insulting. Although we screwed ourselves routinely because after sitting for hours it was impossible for any of us to pass up a 250 yard shot on a crow. 😅

You can overhaul the switch if you want, but I don't. I want it to be Mercury's fault when it fails AGAIN. Not mine. This is a perfect example of how the Japanese engineers are better with electric things than the American engineers are. Many Jap motors are wired so that the key switch has to be ON before there's any power to the trim switch. Ahh, See.....they were thinking ! 💡 -

They SHOULDN'T. Not any more than any other rocker switch on the boat......but somehow they seem to. The tolerances (gap between the actuator bar and contacts inside the switch) are just too tight. A tiny little droplet of condensation is all it takes. -
In oneshots hands...... it's a flamethrower! It would be in MY hands too. Fire makes me nervous. 😬
