  1. Hang on, let me put on my counselor hat and I'll do an assessment. 🎓 Alright then, have a seat, get comfortable, and we will begin. So what are your goals in life?
  2. Are you telling us that there's no poison ivy in Alaska?
  3. The motors were fine, but Yamaha pulled a Merc Manuever and stopped supporting the Precision Blend models as well as all Yamaha motors made prior to them. So there is no parts availability, other than what is offered aftermarket.
  4. Actually that would be tying it wrong. Mohair yarn has no stretch, so simply wrapping it up the shank will result in it slipping down the shank, over the Marabou tail, and then halfway around the bend.....once it gets wet and relaxes. Here's an old video that has a few helpful tips on tying a decent MHL
  5. I hope you're right 😁 I've always aspired to be the #1 black sheep of the OAF Community 🏆
  6. How utterly aloof does a person have to be....to activate the IGNORE feature on a fishing forum ? Like, your time is so important, and your ability to skip past text without reading it...is so pitiful......that you need computerized filters to assist you. Good Lord, that's weak 🙄
  7. Couple years ago a squirrel was doing cartwheels at the edge of my yard. I headed over there to see what the heck was going on......and a black snake had ahold of him. I backed off and allowed him to enjoy his meal. 🙂
  8. I have to be careful while reading stuff that I said 10+ years ago..... I might come across something really earth shattering that changes my current outlook on life.
  9. Yes......or at least it was 2 years ago Hmmm 🤔 Looks like they went tits-up.
  10. Definitely! Installing recessed pop-up cleats on all 4 corners. Putting in a deck extension to fill in the useless gap on the front deck, and add yet another storage compartment. Installing SeaDeck on the front and rear platforms, ect. She's gonna be SA-WEET! 🙂 The only thing I dislike is that the fuel tank is under the console.... Whoever designed THAT needs their butt kicked up between their shoulder blades. 🙄 The cost to relocate the fuel cell puts the project over-budget.
  11. Yep. Here is a current project. This one will make a fine flyfishing rig. 👍
  12. Right on 👍 As long as it isn't a "Precision Blend" model then you did good.
  13. A tiny O-ring placed under the dial will fix that. Gives it just enough friction to stay where you last set it. FYI.... The dial screw has LEFT HAND THREADS ! ☝️ (righty=loosey/ lefty=tighty)
  14. Line management is why I have a separate boat built for flyfishing. I can't flyfish out of my bassboat, too many seats, cleats, foot controls, ect. that wanna grab line all the time.
  15. Really? Hmm, 🤔 Maybe you should take up golf.
  16. I don't think I've ever jumped up and down in my living room, and screamed at the TV like that before. My dog actually got scared and wanted to leave.🙄 Sorry buddy 😉
  17. There's a growing trend towards hucking giant flys for big smallies......I just can't get behind that, personally. The waters I fish aren't necessarily loaded with fish over 16", and those 13-16 inchers are way too much fun to not target specifically. 🙂
  18. As far as I know all of their stuff is perfectly fine. I've actually surfed trying to find negative feedback, and there really isn't any. I have 7 of their reels and 3 of their fly rods, and have absolutely zero complaints.
  19. I hate that I've lost my enthusiasm for conventional fishing. When swinging a 5+ pounder over the gunnels doesn't get your blood pumping anymore.... it's kind of a sad moment. 🥺
  20. A buddy of mine bought some flys through Fly Depot, and I really expected them to be literal JUNK. But when he got them I was blown away......Kelly Galloup himself couldn't tie better Zoo Cougars. On good hooks to boot. There's no way that I'd tie a dozen Zoo Cougars for under 8.00
  21. Oh I know. We used to fund our camping trips to Bennett by selling flys to Weaver's and Spring View. Back then it was Fur bugs, Celery flys, Light Cahill's, and Renegades.......and we (3 of us) tied many hundreds of them by lantern light on a picnic table. All we really needed though was enough money to cover our campsite fees, some food, and enough gas to get back home. We were Trout Bums before being a trout bum was a cool thing. 🙄
  22. How could you possibly not like it? Flyfishing for smallies is the most fun you can have with your clothes on. Although I'd probably not like it nearly as much if I was limited to using only commercially available flys 🙂
  23. Have you adopted a moderator status here? Just curious 🤔
