  1. Unless I suffer a severe laceration, or a broken bone, I'll place my bets on being a self-healer. And yeah I'm covered there. Don't have much faith in the medical community otherwise.
  2. I'm unclear on how much "work" I'll still be allowed to do while still drawing SS, but when I do the math, and consider the potential inflation, I can't imagine it would be worthwhile to wait. Holding off for another 5 years only increases the monthly amount by 400.00 ......which wouldn't even cover my phone bill 😅
  3. Turn 61 next month. How much OLDER did you think I was? I feel like I've worked my @$$ off all my life...... but just found out that I'll only get to draw 900.00 a month if I retire next year 😥 Whatever 🤷‍♂️ I'm going to anyway.
  4. I have had a number of different electric fillet knives, Rapala, Mister Twister, Bubba, ect. and my all time favorite is an old American Angler bought at Walmart, that I've had for over 20 years. I force myself to use the Bubba now because I paid so much for it.....and it's cordless, but I actually like the old battle-axe American Angler the best. Battery chargers? I go through them like toilet paper. Sealed onboard chargers are the WORST. Schumacher vented portable chargers last longer than anything else I've had.
  5. I'd argue that they are a hell of a lot "nicer" than the being that so many like to attribute "niceness" to. Have you actually READ that book, or have you just listened to the little snippets that preachers quote ? There are some pretty horrific tales in there !!! And turning those tales into anything "nice, kind, or caring" takes some serious mental gymnastics! 🤔 So I respectfully ask you the same question......Where did the idea of doing something "nice" originate from ? 🤔
  6. The drunks at the Elks Lodge were feeding them, and offering them part-time jobs last Saturday. And doing it again tomorrow night. 👍
  7. I hope that the one your son found, let's him know that there's no need to travel to the airport, and then hop on a plane to Guatemala..... in order to find children/people that need help. How many do you suppose she flew over, getting to the ones in Guatemala?
  8. There's no people already in Guatemala to do the Lord's work? Somebody from the U.S. has to go there and do it? Who does his work HERE ?
  9. In reality, on a fishing trip, all you need is a place to $#!t, shower, and sleep. I've stayed in some shady places, and luckily never left with bedbugs, crabs, or any kind of noticable fungus. 👌
  10. Owned by a couple of local law men the last I knew.
  11. That's about the 6th time I've heard that. 🤔
  12. What's the most a possum hide was ever worth? I remember coons being worth 40.00 at one time. That seems like a lot for back then! Is my memory correct?
  13. Owl ear at 130 yards 👍
  14. Everyone that mentions being at Bennett lately, follows up by throwing a genuine fit about the detour. Seriously? I haven't been down there since they started that little bridge replacement......but it can't be THAT bad ! 🤷‍♂️
  15. As many feral cats as we have around here it's amazing that I never see one dead in the road. Every other animal gets hit by vehicles every single day......but NEVER a darn cat.
  16. More than once a customer has dropped a boat off here, for various repairs, with fish in the livewell. Once during mid-July, and it was 2 weeks before I could start on it. 🤢
  17. Maybe "fail" was too strong of a word. 🙄
  18. That's true. "Educated" tends to mean PROGRAMMED. A scholar will fail History class unless they answer questions regarding Pearl Harbor, the Kennedy Assassination, 9-11, ect. a certain way. That should tell you all you need to know right there. 🤔
  19. Now, if you REALLY wanna talk about terrible & inaccurate mapping......Let's bring up topo maps made more than 15-20 years ago. I'm confused as to why they even bothered!
  20. It's more than likely just a matter of taste. Nearly everyone claims that crappie is the best tasting fish there is..... but personally, as for the taste of CRAPPIE, I can't taste anything except whatever they are breaded in. 🤷‍♂️
  21. It appears that in 2024 that assumption is still debatable. Some highly educated folk (probably biologists) strongly disagree. 🤷‍♂️
  22. I thought that bottom pic had a state record gar in it, there for a second. 😅
  23. Listen here MoCarp, you asked how they figured river miles in the 1960's 🙄 Before high resolution satellite imagery (Google Earth). They knew the width of the river, and the length of all the bridges. Knowing THAT.....Having an aerial photo of a winding section of river, a ruler, and some decent math skills......It can be figured out fairly accurately. Don't ya think?
