  1. The water is on the rise. Best bite should be less than 7' deep. Lots of pressure on the fish, the parking lots at all accesses have been nearly full everyday for 2 months. I'd have a Carolina rig, a wacky Senko, your favorite topwater bait, and your favorite jig or creature bait on deck. Have fun, be safe! 👍
  2. I'm not familiar with the Toyota Highlander but even my daughter's Jeep Liberty can handle 2500# No problem pulling up ramps or even loose gravel going uphill. Just be careful going DOWNHILL if you might need to stop quickly. Your average glass bass boat rig weighs 3500-5500#, and I've never seen one that a 1/2 ton Truck/Tahoe/Suburban wouldn't handle just fine. Uphill/downhill/whatever. 2000-2650# for aluminum bass rigs.
  3. Oh great, WTF is a buffalo gnat? 😲 I lived 53 years without being introduced to Oak Mites, and now there are Buffalo gnats? What is causing all of these new alien parasite invasions?
  4. I've made my peace with chiggers after last year's OAK MITE hatch. Those are the most miserable basturds on the planet, bar none. I'll take chiggers and be happy from now on.
  5. Wannabe? I am....which is why I take issue with ORANGE fly rods. 🙄 I can't even stand orange line....so I certainly don't want an orange rod. It sure is a beast though. I was looking for something with enough guts to cast big bugs and wrestle a 4+ bass out of a log jam, and my favorite Sage rep hooked me up. It'll do it, and then some.
  6. Oh....and Blackberries!
  7. Here's all the cultivating Sugarbritches has going on this Spring.
  8. I'd like to build a moderate/fast 9wt. Bass bug rod, but I can't find a good blank at a price that doesn't make the whole idea just stupid. I have an 8wt. Sage Bolt that does the job.....but I have a hangup with the color of it (orange blank with burnt orange wraps). Darn nice rod but it just doesn't look cool to me.
  9. Cool! I'll have to find the footage of that one. I ditched the fishing show channels because I got sick of all the deer hunting shows. Nothing is more boring than watching someone whisper in a tree for 30 minutes.
  10. I guess I haven't seen it then. Who won their day in the Gravois ?
  11. Was that Kevin Shorts victory in my back yard? Or is it a different one?
  12. Participating in the "test run" fiasco means you're signing up for teaching boat driving lessons, explaining what tilt/trim does and how to launch/load and secure on the trailer. Ain't nobody got time for that....they can figure all that crap out on their own. If you have to explain the importance of the kill switch lanyard then they get the impression that the boat tries to throw you out of it all the time.....and they get nervous about buying it. It's a catch 22 The reason you're selling a boat is because you want out from under it, so taking it out for multiple "test runs" just increases the odds that you'll hit a log, ding the prop, put a scratch on it, or blow the powerhead and lower its value. Buying used is buying used. If you want a full 5+ year warranty and a guarantee that you'll be 100% happy with it, and that your wife will love it too.... then buy new. 😊
  13. So in other words.....You could have just gave him cash at his house and saved all the BS, and everything would have been fine. 😂
  14. Aight, but you might oughta let him know.....this ain't no run o' the mill carnival bear. To get here he had to swat his way through at least a dozen coon hounds, 3 warlock dobermans, and Morrison's stallions. He's had a steady diet of fireball shooters, and is likely crashing on bathtub methamphetamine. He isn't out scavenging for burn barrel scraps, he's looking for a fight. 👹
  15. I highly doubt it. I haven't looked though. Then again..... probably maybe
  16. Rain hit this one....so it was on 😊 Had to "trespass" to find them though
  17. Me too. So yet another hand switch. All that back & forth is wearing me out just thinking about it. Was fixin' to go chase Whites....but I'm not sure if I have the energy for it.
  18. What's more important is which hand you lip the hawg with. 😊
  19. Are people making masks from vacuum cleaner bags? The wife tried to buy some yesterday and they were all bought out. Have they determined that the virus is airborne now or something? If it's not airborne then why all the concern about the quality of the masks?
  20. Wow. It's just the opposite around here. Where you took that pic from would be the closest place to park. Why aren't they all on ventilators by now?
  21. There's no other feeling like seeing your kid succeed in something that only YOU had a hand in. 👍 You're in for years of proud happy feelings, have fun with it. 😊
  22. What happens when you don't accept it? Nobody around here is keeping their microbes to themselves. Not sure what to do about it, aside from locking myself in the house. Curious what your defensive plan might be.
  23. They don't know $#!t about phuck !
  24. I don't recall mentioning anything about how smart CWF was. What are you talking'bout?
  25. Well good, we need a badass to come get this here Bar out of the neighborhood! Preferably before he starts digging up Sugarbritches hostas.
