  1. That's right I forgot that you did the bike shop gig. We need another bike shop around here, the last one seemed to be doing good....but for some reason they gave it up. I could enjoy doing that if there was any money in it.
  2. What did you do before you became a iron pimp ? Did you ever run a paper route on your bicycle? Give us a work history on you, I wanna know all of your skills.
  3. Got it, thanks. You don't want that headache anyway. Can't get critical parts for Force outboards anymore. Best to stay with the big 3 (Johnnyrude, Yamaha, Mercury) in that order.
  4. I always just use my hat. Maybe that's what's wrong with me.....fungus spores too close to my brain.
  5. As awesome and rare as a raging boner can be, I still don't understand how that might motivate me to accomplish the things (workwise and fishingwise) that I have previous intentions to do. I've been intending to swap out our bathroom faucet for going on 3 months. Have the replacement in a box in the laundry room just waiting. The next time Sugarbritches "reminds me" about it, I'll tell her that I can't stay hard long enough to get it done. Her reaction to THAT should be way more fun than her reaction to me telling her to go move all the towels and crap out of the cabinet so I can have some room to work on it.
  6. Yessir, that whole "it's your upbringing" theory has been proven wrong SO many times. Also, some of the most rottenest kids grow up to be the most responsible adults. Ya just never know. That's why I'm a firm believer in rehabilitation in prisons. Don't write off anybody because of their past. Alot can happen to a persons mind in 24 hours.
  7. 44" hull (not wide enough). You'll definitely want more horses for a 1648 or 1652 I thought this was gonna be the perfect Niangua/Gasconade boat, which it kinda is, because it's easy to manhandle when you need to, but I'm just not 100% happy with it. The motor starts and runs great.... but it is a wimp.
  8. What's it got on the back of it?
  9. Well I've got one. The 25 Merc just isn't enough. It gets the job done, but only because I know it's limitations and I'm careful not to get myself into a bad situation. Heading into a spot with less than enough @$$ to get you through it can put you in a dangerous predicament. I've had a couple of close calls.
  10. Since we're discussing interactions with "famous" people I have had quite a few. Crystal Gayle once bought me lunch at a truck stop in Monteagle Tn. Met Sammy Kershaw at longhorn steakhouse in Atlanta and we just clicked. (I had never even listened to his music beforehand). Ran limb lines on the Osage river and bird hunted (unsuccessfully) with Mel Carnahan (former Mo. Governor). Had the pleasure of rubbing elbows with a large number of big name B.A.S.S. guys and quite a few other famous fishing people, either through hanging around the Hibdon's or through doing boat/motor repairs. All are, or were (some have passed on) just regular people that appreciate being treated like regular people. I tried to do a freebie 10 minute electrical repair for Mark Zona, cuz he's a cool dude and I like him alot....but he wouldn't have it. Notoriety doesn't change people, it just changes how OTHER people react to them.
  11. Like a Cadillac axle! Cat couldn't scratch it! But no really, what does my shooting pool with a wet dish rag have to do with my failure to execute the most well laid plans? Is it a testosterone thing?
  12. I little bit of Loc-Tite Stick & Seal on the jig collar allows you just enough time to distribute the silicone strands the way you want them. Then after it sets up you can cut the rubber ring off and tie them in permanently with 3/0 tying thread. Wire is hard to get the tension right without pinching the silicone in two. Works great with the old school rubber, but silicone....not so much. Although the guys at War Eagle had a system with wire that worked GREAT. Different skirt configuration though. They've stopped doing it now, regardless, and gone to a different skirt with a welded in collar. I assume those are poured/injected that way.
  13. LMAO 😅 I always set at the dinner table late every evening and plot out all these highly productive things that I'm going to do tomorrow......Then tomorrow comes and I'm like..... "Yeah, oooooo K. Let's just have some coffee and rethink this".
  14. I don't build skirts, so No. But if you could get the dark blue ones that come in a Johnson/Evinrude carb kit, in the right size, I bet they'd last almost as long as the silicone strands. Only possible problem is that they are hard and slick, the skirt material might just pull out too easily. Itty bitty zip ties do a good job, but with that method, as with tying them on, there's no interchangeability.
  15. Oh definitely! You absolutely have to be in the Clacka! That boy loves to row, ain't no getting him to stop and pound the hell out of anything. 😂
  16. I like them too. Like them alot, but all of my most successful days on NFoW have been days where no floating was involved. It's just a matter of approaching a riffle/run and taking the time to disect it properly. Whereas everyone that floats tends to just hit areas briefly....and move on to the next one. There are 7 spots to park a vehicle between the access above Kelly bridge (forget the name) and Sunburst, and only two of them is "so-so", the others are excellent spots to fish. And only 2 of them might cost a few bucks depending on who you know and how well you know them. Once AGAIN my comments got taken definitive and to the extreme. I never said that floating NFoW was a total waste of time, I simply said that you can catch just as many, OR MORE, fish without ever stepping in a boat, providing that the river isn't running too high. The need to float if you just want to have a good day fishing is not a thing there. That's all. And I'll back that "profound statement" up with the offer of a delicious Ruben and beers (once Dawt restaurant opens back up). Any takers? 😊
  17. Somebody needs to invent something better than a snippet of surgical tubing to corral skirt material. The shelf life of those rings is not acceptable.
  18. What is the affliction called....where everything seems like a great idea, and it is ABSOLUTELY something that you are going to do.... Until it comes time to actually do it, at which point the enthusiasm to do so just vanishes ? Because whatever that disease is, I've got it. Is there any known cure?
  19. You can use those binoculars you just bought for a range finder too.
  20. Well if I liked them I dam sure wouldn't try to sell them a 4-stroke. Are you hitting the hooch tonight?
  21. Me and this old boy are buddy's. Haven't spoke to him or fished together since he started getting into politics 10-12 years ago. He doesn't get up this way much anymore or I'm sure he'd holler.
  22. If you don't buy it then lead me to it, I might. I'm looking for a 1652 (Olympic Jon) but I'd snatch up a good 1648 that's priced right.
  23. Tell you what....You float whatever stretch you want, and I'll run spots in my truck. At the end of the day I'll meet you at Dawt and we'll compare pics. Looser buys beers, fried pickles, and Rubens. Pick a date that's 1000cfs or less. 😊
  24. It might get me in trouble (again) but this line in "3 Billboards" caught me off guard and put me on the floor. Angela : Why are you never on my side, Robbie? Robbie : I'm always on your side when you're not being a cute. Angela , Mildred Hayes : Hey! Mildred Hayes : There will be no more "cunts" in this house. You got that, mister? Robbie : What? Are you moving out?
