  1. A BoatUS customer last year broke down on a Mo river sand bar. Someone from Boonville ran 30 miles to tow him to a ramp, then took him to his truck/trailer. Wouldn't even accept a tip.
  2. I don't want anybody knowing if I break down. That would be embarrassing. I'd rather just paddle home. šŸ˜
  3. Did anyone notice that Ham didn't say "hi" to me? Why do you reckon? I just wanna know where he got those Brook trout leggings for his wife .... But ------- he just won't talk to me. Now I just gotta know why.
  4. Dayuum, the RCS really knows how to summon up the hotties, does it not ? Was I the only one that watched that whole performance to check out all the T&A? I mean....Yum! šŸ˜ Oh yeah, BOAT šŸ‘ Free Boat is good! Give the boy a beer for Christ sake.
  5. As many guys as we have here on OA there's no reason any of us should be left stranded for very long. Just put a HELP! post on here with your phone number, and somebody that can help is either gonna come running...or know someone that will and can contact them. I check in here 3-4 times a day, and I know plenty of others do too. We won't leave you out there with the gators and skeeters for very long.
  6. That's the first I've heard of that kinda crap. Usually as long as you join and pay your 70-80 bucks they come right away. Otherwise yeah it costs quite a bit more.
  7. His family has a place here, he catches alot of big hybrids.
  8. My wife uses an app called Plantnet to ID stuff. It's always right.

  10. CP Rod is a customer of mine. Congrats to him! šŸ‘
  11. What's the shaft length of that dude? And how many counties away are ya?
  12. Can you imagine a 70ft. wall of water making its way down the Lake Ozark channel ! Man what a mess (and boom to the economy) that would be !
  13. Listen here, Playa... We haven't fished together, or even had a beer on the same piece of property yet. I'm not that kinda girl ! šŸ™„
  14. I was there to see that. "Thousands" is a gross understatement. I hope to never see anything like that ever again.
  15. I like to fish my way upstream on slower creeks and rivers, using the canoe only for crossing deep pools and long boring stretches. Then drift back and hit the good spots again, or fish them with different stuff if the initial pass wasn't very productive. Usually by the time I head back the lower stretches have had time to recoup. Often I'll spook a good fish or two on the way up and I just remember where it was and sneak up on it later.
  16. Nice! I love Smallies in that size range. True hotrods.
  17. Hi, Ham! āœ‹ šŸ˜„
  18. It's called an "Airhead". Made with a product called "Slinky Fiber" and Shoe Goo. They are a tricky tie, but luckily very durable. They walk like nobody's business, and they cast like a dream. With some practice you can even throw a roll cast loop and walk them backwards, round the bend, then straight ahead. Looks more like something to eat than any hard bait on the market. Notice the loop knot, that's critical. I hear ya about the fly-fishing from a canoe thing though. I don't even try. It's gotta be a Jon boat, drift boat, or wading.
  19. I know that on my stretch of LO, only 17 miles from the dam, the water level on the upper end of the Gravois arm will go up and down repeatedly as they are steadily realeasing water. Never really understood the why's and how's of that. There is an old bridge deck just underwater and if you're up there you'll see the deck sticking out then submerged....then sticking out again, over and over. It is a fluctuation of 6-8 inches almost like miniature tidal surges.
  20. The most famous Smallmouth fly in the world is a Clouser, but guess what? I don't catch Smallies on it worth a hoot. Whites love it, but it just doesn't suit my style of river black bass fishing at all.
  21. The ones shown have already been proven to my satisfaction. I'll send you a handful of culls....maybe you can make them work better than I could. Actually the "Game Changer" might get culled this year. It's only true asset (over the others) is that it lasts forever and doesn't get torn apart. If I could only have ONE streamer to last a whole weekend, that would be the one.
  22. You have a vice ! Get busy! 😊
  23. As unimpressive as it looks, this one here is the one that almost always get it done. Just something about the translucency and the way it moves, it looks alive even when suspended motionless. It is my hands down best fly for Smallies and temperate bass 75% of the time. With this one being a close second when the water is kinda dirty. It's that fat round head pushing water that does it.
  24. And then some! Honestly they'll do things that a fluke only dreams of doing. No BS And yes I can even skip them.
  25. Most folks that haven't gotten into it think flyfishing for bass is a big-time finessy thing, but it's the total opposite. My bass flys raise more hell, create more flash, and just generally create more of a disturbance than just about any typical "lure" is capable of. And I usually work them loud and fast, or with frequent pauses if that's what it takes. If you gotta get deep into cover to get bit then this lead eyed Mudbug usually gets it done well enough for me that I don't feel the need to reach for casting gear. Kinda hard to judge size in those pics, but every offering is definitely a mouthful. And unless I've showed it to them personally there's a good chance the fish have never seen anything like it before.....so it works.
