  1. I can cover roughly 60 miles of water on 18gal. of fuel with the old 1989 GT150. If I can't find some fish within 25 miles of where I'm launching at then I'd be launching elsewhere. I'd rather put those miles on the truck if possible.
  2. Woah! Your spots all in different county's ?
  3. Yeah it would take a while to burn 20 gal of fuel up with THAT motor. It blows my mind why they still install such high capacity fuel cells in boats. Even if the fuel was bought fresh yesterday it will be bad before the average boater burns up 20 gallons. That's like throwing in an extra passenger that does nothing but sit there and cause problems all day. Toss that idiot overboard!
  4. What's the plan once it is turned upside down? Gonna grind it down and put a layer of cloth & resin over it, or what? Unless you're a Ford guy your truck has enough balls to flip it over.
  5. What would be wrong with giving everyone a specific numbered token, something 2 inches long (for reference), not easily copied or reproduced, that has to be placed on the fish when photographing. And scoring by 1/2 inches. With either no limit on number of fish allowed to be scored, or set the limit to the 10 best fish per angler. It might result in the occasional tie.....but hey, what's wrong with a few ties? The results can be scrolled on a big screen TV for all participants (or spectators) to see. It would work just fine.
  6. That is exactly my point. Everyone is quick to jump on every aspect of technology......until it comes to better, more conservation friendly scoring practices during tournaments. It wouldn't be such a big deal if there weren't so darn many tournaments, but they grow in numbers every year.
  7. It might be easier to stand it up on the transom. Got a stump in your yard by chance?
  8. Well Saweeeet!
  9. We need to get her and Amber fishing together. So when we both check out they'll still fish !
  10. Women can hold their pee up to 8 times longer than a guy can. We'll be on a drive and my wife will casually mention that she has to pee. My immediate thought is that I should pull into the first place I come to. But NO! She doesn't wanna pee THERE! She doesn't wanna pee RIGHT NOW! Why did she even say anything about it? I think she just says that so I won't say anything funny, or throw her down and start tickling her. I've noticed that everytime I crack these girls up around the house, at least one of them will blast off for the bathroom. Silly chicks!
  11. So you're covered while in a competition event requiring a regatta permit ?
  12. It WOULD HAVE been before the dingleberries at Duck Dynasty ruined it.
  13. My oldest daughter has a genuine love of it, but she has yet to ever go by herself, or find a friend that she can go with. She reads, watches videos, and seeks out fishing information on her own. But so far she has only gone fishing when she goes with me. Her and a couple of friends went to Colorado last Fall and she took a little 4wt. with her to play with some brookies....but her friends had no interest so she never did break it out, or even stop and buy a license. I'm anxiously waiting for that day when she will just GO (either by herself or with a friend).....and then call and tell me about it. That's when I'll know that I actually did a good thing by getting her into it. In the bass fishing relm all I see are gals that like to accessorize (play dress up). Like: "how cute can I look doing this" "Instagram me!" I'll believe a female is truly into fishing when she places a BPS order, on her own, for some lizards, a handful of crankbaits/Spinnerbaits, and some line......instead of a cute pink hoodie.
  14. Around here if I'm catching Walleye then I'm 2 weeks early for the Whites. The wind was nuts around here today. Not blowing all that hard but every gust was from a different direction. Made for some challenging long range dinosaur shootin'. My phone's GPS function is stuck in a weird matrix and insists that I am in Eureka, Ks. Been getting "Duck and Cover Tornado" warnings all day. I changed my location 3 times.....it changes it right back. Not sure how to fix this, but it's getting irritating.
  15. If it will help, they can stop sending me the Conservationist magazine. Or heck, just sell a few gallons of those Spoonbill eggs. Or they could sell one of those fully loaded 3/4 ton Silverado's that only gets used to haul around a laptop. There's a nice little green Jeep Liberty with really low miles just up the road that'll do that.
  16. Show us the dang T-shirt ! How cool is it?
  17. When we turned in our Stream Team report last year they sent a whole box of gloves, bags, T-shirts, and crap that we never even requested. Giant box of goodies sent UPS. Probably 40.00 worth of leather work gloves, 20.00 worth of trash bags, 40.00 worth of T-shirts, plus notepads, pens, stickers, ect. I guess they just have an excess of stuff to give away when it is within one of their programs. Blows my mind that they wouldn't eat the shipping on one T-shirt. Crazy.
  18. 3 of my die-hard bowfishing customers have simultaneously gotten out of it. Have sold, or are selling their rigs and are into something else now. As if it was just a passing fad.
  19. Well for God's sake they've already spent 6 million on that stupid paddlefish. I'd say the budget on that POS has been breeched. Let's see the T-shirt.
  20. Ok, so if the level of fish relocation is "worth it" (for the economy) now, then at what point wouldn't it be ? If the amount of weigh-in tournaments doubled, are you still good with it ? Didn't aim to quote you, Ronnie...but I can't get rid of the box.
  21. Delete request honored.
  22. Heck of a day! Stockton might be having a hot streak this year.
  23. I love seeing how people do their work, and showing how I do mine. Looks awesome, Al This is like career day at OAF
  24. What he said. Here's what ya do if you have a tongue jack on the trailer..... Pull the boat about a foot off the back of the trailer. Let the tongue jack all the way down. Block up the transom of the boat. Raise the tongue jack up until the rear of the boat is off the trailer. Now block the front. Release the bow winch. Lower the tongue jack. Pull the trailer out from under it. Reverse the proceedure to put it back on the trailer.
