  1. Destruction of a native species is something I may be able to live with, but it is still extremely undesirable.
  2. Exactly. Let's see what the prognosis on these hybrid stripers is, in another 35 years.
  3. Just saw in this months Conservationist magazine that the Bradford Pear tree is now considered by MDC to be "invasive" and needs to be destroyed at all costs. This cracks me up! Why would this tickle you, Wrench? Well, I remember being a Cub Scout (Webelo actually) and being given truckloads of Bradford Pear trees to plant all over town. All around the town square, in the school yards, courthouse lawn, church parking lots, city parks..... We planted Bradford Pear trees all over the dang place. Guess who provided and delivered them?
  4. Can't be any worse than when the slide hammer slips off a bearing carrier. Danger lurks everywhere. Wear safety glasses and pay attention to wtf you're doing! What's the use in having a First-Aid kit if you never need it?
  5. Probably about the same frequency as a slide hammer on a bearing carrier, but I was careful to get everything nice and level/square so that wouldn't happen.
  6. Hillbilly airgun spring compressor:
  7. Look at the bright side......All the carp pics have been lost.
  8. Retirement must be grand! With the lake on it's way back up, and the White bass run hopefully not far off I decided to get the rod rigged and check my Spring run waist pack and it looks like I have some serious tying to do. Funny, I don't remember loosing that many flys last Spring, I think somebody has pilfered my goodies.
  9. If/when you ever have to do it, don't bother making a spring compressor. As long as you have a boat on a trailer with a tongue jack.....you already have one.
  10. If the 24 Raker ever makes it to Lake O by chance I'll take it off your hands.
  11. Well hey, a man can't carry EVERYTHING, sometimes a certain bait/technique has to be culled. Just a personal choice. If somebody spanks me from the back of the boat with a wacky trick worm it'll only take about 13 seconds to put them back in the boat once I get home. Pretty sure I can scrounge up a winner on a bite like that with what's currently in the boat though.
  12. I have some USGS TOPO maps that are grossly inaccurate. I guess they were designed to be "beautiful", because they are worthless for anything else. They show draws and ditches where none exist, and in other spots there are draws and ditches that do exist....yet the map shows nothing. The crest of the tallest ridge is shown, but it's location in reference to the triangulation of a creek bend and a long established and paved road is off by almost 3/4 mile. Pretty map though. Gorgeous to look at. Wallpaper material for sure. Last time I mentioned this Chief got REALLY upset.
  13. The motivation is not there. You're not paying them enough. This is the same reason why you're bowing out of the fly swap. At least I offered to send in my underwear. That shows my level of motivation.
  14. Yeah Fluke's and Senko's pretty much put the weightless Trick worm into extinction.
  15. The overhaul was a success! Only took 2 shots to re-sight it in, then shot this 10 shot group at 30 yds.
  16. You want the first couple-three guides to be good and sturdy, because they are gonna grab ahold of everything you get close to. Single foots after that is fine.
  17. Catchy name for it. It started out being called a "Roberts Wrap". Then they started calling it a "Whalen wrap". Now it's Acid rod? Hard to keep up with this. I had a few many moons ago, they were a real basturd to pull out of a rod box.
  18. Sorry. Fly swaps are so 1999
  19. It may ignite with a flame/spark, but maybe it won't simply combust on it's own under pressure? I dunno.
  20. I'm blown away that a manufacturer that has been building airguns for YEARS like Crosman/Benjamin have, are, I assume, using the wrong type of lube.
  21. Yes, absolutely. 150.00/yr. is just throwing money away. That policy likely isn't worth the paper it's printed on.
  22. Repeated power pack failures are usually caused from weak timer base voltage. Could be a bad timer base, or weak magnets on the flywheel hub. I bet if you tested the Timer base DVA you'll find output between 2-4v instead of between 4-6v. I have a good timer base AND a flywheel.....if you need either. Actually I have a complete 200 looper that I am parting out.
  23. Apparently it can cause any excess lube to puddle up on the face of the piston seal. The factory had lube stuffed in there like they were packing wheel bearings I'm using this stuff (SPARINGLY) when it goes back together..... MOLY EP LITHIUM GREASE is a smooth textured high melting point, water resistant lithium base grease fortified with molybdenum disulfide (moly) to reduce wear by maintaining lubrication under conditions of high friction and shock loads.
  24. I wouldn't mind fishing a few Derby's, especially when I'm on a killer bite! But I'm in no mood to pay insurance all year just so I can do it. I can make more money (before noon) here at my shop than I can make by winning an all day tournament. So as bad as I'd like to go out and put it on them every once in awhile.... it just doesn't make $en$e to even bother with it. Plus I hate the thought of relocating a culled limit of fish, for nothing. I'd rather not participate, and never have to be called "a hammer".
