The other thing we spoke about was how the Christian community is handling this. Is it not possible that although it seems terrible and cruel to us, this is all part of God's plan, that maybe he is saving so many others by the elimination of a chosen few? After all he IS mysterious and there's no way that we can understand, we simply do not have the capacity to reason at that level. Therefore isn't it possible (even probable) that everything is as it should be, and no changes are needed? So many have prayed for it to stop, yet it doesn't. Therefore it must be going along just as it should. If God is real then one of two things is going on here. Either #1 He is powerless to do anything about it. Or #2 He doesn't want to. What other possible explanation is there?

My daughter made a good point today while we were on a bike ride. She says that nobody knows what to do, therefore they are attacking the gun owning community in hopes that they can fix this within their "family". At first I was like WTF are you talking about? But then I thought about it, and it's really no different than me dumping my frustrations of illegal gigging on everyone that gigs. I do that, and I do it regardless of how unfair and unjustified it is, because I don't know any other way to fix the problem. I want giggers (as a family) to fix it. They attack the entire gun loving community in hopes that they love their sport ENOUGH to make all the bad gun owners go away and stop needlessly killing people.

Is this related to FB ? Google obviously, but I didn't know FB was connected.

Well for some insane reason YouTube is giving the boot to all the really good airgun channels. AOA is gone, Ted's Holdover, Matt B., Pyramyd Air, American Airgunner, ect. They've all been demonitized and/or completely kicked off of YT. Crazy, hu? What the heck? Can anyone make some sense out of that? Airguns of all things.

That's actually pretty cool !

Bass Tournament- Cold Water Challenge
fishinwrench replied to slothman's topic in Lake of the Ozarks
I figured it would be less of a lucky roll. Good job scratching out a limit, I'm sure it took some skill to get one today. -
I have to agree. What was the sense in all of the alleged training he did during his career, if when it was time to use it he ran the other way? I'm sure he would have immediately pounced on any kid smelling like reefer though.

I wish it would wash all those fish into the river.

Appreciate it, but my daughter and I made plans to go on a bike ride after I get done working. -

Less of a crapshoot now. Kinda wish I hadn't pussed out. Good luck you guys. -
I think it could be successfully argued that the Florida shooter is not mentally ill. People get pissed or disgusted and react differently. In one extreme you have people that kill in biblical fashion, and at the other extreme you have those that just pout and cry. When God got pissed/disgusted he sure wasn't a pout and cryer. It is believed by plenty that man was made in his image, so....

Well then it's time to schedule you a psych eval.

There's just no way to determine crazy until someone does something really stupid and harmful. But wait! I have done stupid and harmful things, matter of fact I'm doing one right now (smoking a cigarette). Should I be institutionalized? Some idiot just went flying up my road at a rediculous speed, he should definitely be scheduled for treatment. Won't be long until we are all shackled in a giant concrete compound playing chess. I mean who can be trusted? Cops are raping kids, the governor has been arrested on felony charges......I mean WTF? Right?

Ya know the thing about all this mass shooting crap that has started bugging me the worst lately is that they keep saying it's a result of "poor mental health care" in the U.S. Can someone describe to me how GOOD/BETTER mental health care works? There's no cure for mental illness. Doesn't matter if they are in the U.S. or in Australia. Crazy is crazy. Has anyone here ever known someone that used to be crazy and dangerous... but got cured of it and is ok now and can function just fine? Yeah I didn't think so.

Pretty off colored in the upper end. I haven't been out so I don't know where it starts clearing up.

Any kind of impact should be covered. Example: If you "impact" a plastic ice bag that someone threw in the lake, and it blocks your water intake causing an overheat that blows the powerhead, you should be covered. Picking up old fishing line, cutting a propshaft seal that causes lower unit failure is covered. Insurance usually does not cover mechanical failures unless the failure is the result of some form of accident. And by that I don't mean "accidentally" forgetting to do proper maintenance.

Pretty sure that a magnum load of #4's will quiet just about anyone down within 50 yards, I don't care what you're wearing. Even if wearing a plate, a few pellets are likely to find their way into the noggin. If not on the first shot then surely the 2nd or 3rd.

A multi-million dollar redhorse hatchery in the near future wouldn't surprise me. As soon as they get tired of trying to eradicate the evasive mustard greens then maybe that'll be next.

Was he actually restricted to only carrying a handgun ? I certainly wouldn't call him a coward, but he was guilty of being unprepared. Obviously not a boy scout. "Well seasoned' appears to be a stretch of the vocabulary, doesn't it? I mean how effective can you be defending against the highly possible threats of today.....with a handgun. Shoulda been carrying a shotgun at least.

Did y'all watch the "park meeting"? It was on Facebook live the other night. Sounds like they have a load of 3 pounders and 37 brood stock females to dump on opening day, then it'll be 10-12 inchers until July because they have to hold back some better sized fish for the Urban city boy program. So after July it will be all dinks. The fish, once they reach 10.5", are only growing 1/4-1/2" per year. As for the river: They quit stocking at NRO supposedly. Prosperine gets a few early in the year, after that trout will only be stocked at Barclay and the 64 access, and they will stock monthly unless the river is extremely low....or high and muddy. They claim that population surveys indicate that 80% of the fish are being caught and kept within 14 days of being stocked, which, if that's true, tells me that they are only stocking about 200 (or less) instead of the reported 5-800

River Jon - Oars...Your preference for style and why
fishinwrench replied to N9BOW's topic in White River
Most of the guys that are truly good "on the sticks" prefer longer oars. For my 1642' Jon I like 8 footers that have beefy narrow blades. Nice and sturdy because I dig into the gravel in skinny fast spots. I'm a hack at the rowing game. -

Yeah, or she'll dump YOU the first time a horsefly gets after her. -
By definition the "gear housing" (or gear case) is simply the "shell" that the gears and shafts reside in. It is the skeg, cav plate, and bullet. A "gear case ASSEMBLY" is a complete lower unit (housing, gears, bearings, shafts, seals, ect.)
-
Unless I'm misunderstanding.....if there's a damaged gearcase in the mix then this should be an insurance job, so all you'll have to sweat is your deductible.
