II wasn't firing on ya, bro. Just trying to get to the bottom of this rapidly sinking flourocarbon myth that I keep hearing/reading about over and over.
I started experimenting with that as soon as flourocarbon became available. I love it for it's abrasion resistance but I'm just blown away by the number of times the sink rate of it is mentioned because In my experience that has turned out to be a characteristic not anywhere noticable enough to even consider. If I seem cranky about it that's because I WISH it were true to a greater degree.
I would love to have a strong, castable line that would actually sink like so many people act like flouro does. Hell, a wet feather will sink too....but not anytime soon. Certainly not in the time frame between two casts.
Take a wad of wet monofilament and hold it underwater at an arms length, let go of it down there and let me know when it comes to the surface.
