  1. Wow! A clipboard, a piece of paper, and a pen = $2.50
  2. My thoughts and experience tells me it doesn't matter. There truly isn't a programmed response to falling water. After a hard drop some fish (plenty) will remain shallow. Fish on mainlake points SOMETIMES seem to react to the water movement but you can't always depend on it. Today there seems to be more flys in my hallway than there is in the kitchen, even though there is NOTHING TO EAT in the hallway. Yesterday the flys were on the ceiling fans. Where are they likely to be tomorrow?
  3. Ya know, that's the bummer when it comes to kids and boating. Those things are so freakin'overbuilt and uncomfortable. If I had been forced to wear that crap when I was a kid I probably would have grown up hating boating with a passion. It honestly doesn't take much to float a child....but they build child PFD's to float a bushel basket of tungsten.
  4. If the water is calm and slick it's cool to bring along your pup, but to have a dog bouncing around in a bass boat on rough water, claws trying to dig into the carpet, that's just uncool.
  5. Pork chop looks like a sharp one. Been taking mine since he was off the tit. He doesn't care much for the bass boat but loves the Jon and the canoe. His favorite are wading trips.
  6. And you like it because....You sometimes forget what size/brand line to use? You often need a link to the river guages? You want to be always up to date on the latest new crankbait color schemes and/or fresh new offering in soft plastic? Naw, I'm guessing not.
  7. Alright, here's the deal as I see it... If there wasn't something always going on around here at least half or more of the daily check-ins would go away. The reason that questions get promptly answered and the reason guys think to post trip reports is because they log in here fairly often. And the reason why they log in often, even when they aren't about to go (or just got back from) fishing, is because someone almost always has some kind of drama stirred up here....and sick as it may seem, that is entertaining. Message boards that completely discourage personality are boring as hell. I only get on the Chevy trucks forum when there is something wrong with my truck. I only get on the E-team board when I need to learn something about a motor issue I'm confused about. I only get on Riversmallies when....wait, I NEVER get on Riversmallies anymore. I'm on here multiple times every dang day regardless of what kind of mood I'm in simply because even when there is nothing I want to know or feel the need to share, it is always good for a smile... or some other kind of emotion that makes it worthwhile.
  8. I tried Reel Magic years ago and about 10 casts later I couldn't tell it was even present anymore. I wouldn't swear to anything but all of that line conditioner stuff looks, feels, smells, and tastes just like this stuff (which I do use all the time....but not on my reels or line)
  9. Those are truly good reels, I have 4 of them and have used them for years...never a problem. They are made by Okuma. I really don't need it but if nobody else jumps on it I'll take it off your hands.
  10. Well ! THAT wasn't very nice !
  11. Cool stuff
  12. I have used it in 8# & 10# for tippet material the last couple years and really like it. It seems to love the knots I tie. Guess that's why there are so many folks making a living by selling us line. The only flouro I ever truly hated was Vanish, but some folks just love it. Who knows?
  13. Who got nasty, mean, or truly bent out of shape? Aggressor was the only one I've seen get all torqued, and he started it with himself (cybil) right after he found Jesus, so that was probably just some "speaking in tongue" kinda thing. No harm done or hurt feelings that I've noticed.
  14. Well I prefer to speak to you as a friend, not as someone I'm seeking a loan from, or someone I owe lots of money. If I ever offend you.... Get over it.
  15. Yeah let's all just pretend to agree with each other all the time, and keep this place as phoney as possible. Is that the kinda atmosphere that is desired ? I like genuine people that speak their minds way more than I enjoy sneaky cutthroats. But that's just me.
  16. They all have mommy's and daddy's, brothers and sisters. I have one here somewhere that got my dog a month or so ago, judging by the bite mark it is a biggun.
  17. When I went out to close up the shop last night there was one so big you could hear him walking. I thought it was a ground squirrel or something, looked over and it was a big freaking spider. He ran over behind the test tank and I really don't even wanna go back out there. Arson really shouldn't be a Crime in instances like this. That basturd is violating my right to move freely around my property.
  18. Is it just my area of residence or is there alot more Spiders around this Summer? Under every boat cover, inside every motor cowling, in my mailbox, on the mirrors of my truck, and hanging in ever door frame that I walk through, just waiting to pounce on me and cause immediate heart failure, are big nasty spiders. They are freaking me out and I want them to go away. I even tried praying about it but God apparently thinks it's funny.
  19. You eat whatever you want out of that river, Oneshot. If these vegetarians ever pile on you they'll have a fight on their hands.
  20. If you didn't hit anything why did the prop need taken to the shop ?
  21. It can effect your max RPM but more importantly it is going to compromise your seals and gears if you keep running it. If you have the proper tools and are mechanically inclined you could do it, but if you have to buy the manual and tools then you aren't saving much by doing it yourself. It only flat rates at 3.5 hours including complete reseal of the gearcase. I think I have a prop shaft. Post up your serial number so I can be sure and if I do I'll beat any price you can find.
  22. I'm impressed that he got sponsored.
  23. Just throw him in the rod box.
  24. Ha Ha Palooza is this weekend, those big boats are gonna turn that narrow stretch of lake into a big washing machine.
  25. That's all these kids that grew up playing X box, then they went to the river where their VIRTUAL reality world turned to REALITY, and they weren't prepared for that. Sad.
