  1. Wonder what they did with all the extra rainbows, since they haven't stocked any in the river for 2 months ?
  2. Another good one, Jerry. Here I set, engine idling and ready to go.....What's my partner doing?
  3. Oh whatever, you can't even walk down a flight of stairs without busting your butt. If you'll just stay put I'll bring us right in and come to a stop where you can step on the (sometimes slippery) dock safely without any acrobatics. What's the rush? I don't even have a seat in the front of my boat so if you loose your balance you're swimming....possibly with a busted head.
  4. Because as I approach a dock I head in at an angle then hit reverse to straighten the boat parallel to the dock. Hitting reverse when someone is standing on the bow stresses me out. Just wait until I bring the boat to a stop....I don't need you to "help me" dock the dang boat!
  5. Let's give fresh new boaters a break for a minute and talk about things us "seasoned veterans" do that needs improvement. I'll open with this one.... When you and a partner return to the dock does your partner jump up and walk to the bow as you are idling in ? Drives me crazy when guys do that. Keep your @ss in the seat until I give you the nod.
  6. I remember a ringer knockoff that Bev sold out of that trailer in Hurricane deck years ago. They weren't 9.5 inchers though (more like 7"). The 9.5 incher has to be a Luck-E-Strike because they had a patent on it.
  7. There is a person in my extended family that has a hell of a gun collection. He was asked if he wanted to go coyote hunting and he said "sure". Then he realized that out of the 28 firearms he owned not a one of them was suitable to hunt coyotes with. Every gun he owns is nothing but a device for shooting PEOPLE. Makes me wonder how disappointed he is going to be if he never gets the chance. If I owned 30 guns at least ONE of them would be a sweet varmint rifle.
  8. You're late! We ain't even talking about that anymore, we're talking about picturesque shut-ins. Get up to speed, man.
  9. The only good coming from this kinda thing is that it maintains a river/creek as "navigable" by using it for commerce. If they can mine it then we can fish it without fear of trespass.
  10. Exactly ^^ But it seems the only guys/gals that carry are the ones that are ate up with it. I mean a dude that brought his kids to my daughters birthday party had a .45 on his hip. Gimme a break!
  11. They are likely being planted. There's a guy around here that does that for a living, along with raising/selling bird dogs. He's done quite well for himself too, or at least it seems that way.
  12. Conversations wander. Only seminars and business meetings require staying strictly on topic.
  13. No kidding. So many of THOSE drugs get used/abused that traces of the stuff ends up in our waterways through their excrement. That's just sickening.
  14. I like that! I'm taking my kid catfishin tonite and I wish I had one of those made up.

Wrong! I'm on the couch. Actually it's a futon on concrete blocks, but whatever.
  16. So....link us to the best CA fishing forum. I wanna peek in there.

    That's a hell of a way to cook a shark !
  18. Yeah Piercy didn't care if he drowned, he just wanted to make sure he didn't have to wrestle him. That's great.
  19. Quail populations where I grew up were fantastic in the early 70's but by the time I was old enough to take myself and have my own dog (mid 80's) it was hard to find enough birds to make it worthwhile. The fields hadn't been made any bigger in that period of time, still plenty of cover. Some blamed the newly acquired turkeys for "eating the quail eggs", some blamed hard Winters or overly hot Summers, and others blamed foxes and coyotes. But I don't buy that there were any more coyotes then than there was before. Probably LESS if anything because everyone that saw a coyote/fox would shoot it. Nobody ever blamed hunting pressure for the lack of birds even though at least 3 families per block in the town I grew up in owned a bird dog or 3, and all those ol'boys were wicked good with a shotgun.
  20. Why did he need to be handcuffed in the first place, he wasn't threatening anyone and was being cooperative. Handcuffing someone on the water is a bad idea unless they are a true threat. If they feel the person is likely to become combative then they should be taken directly to land and call a sheriff to come retrieve them. Being on a boat over rough water with your hands tied behind your back would be kinda scary really.
  21. A nice short 12ga. pump would be my choice. That might suck for friendly fire victims in a crowded place but hey the prerogative is for ME to survive, right?
  22. Well good, cuz I was getting tired of hearing all the meth propaganda. So now all the monsters can be heroin junkys for awhile.
  23. Let's not lump heroin addiction in with sparking an occasional doobie, Puleeeeze! Cheetos are the gateway drug.

  25. The Moreau's spoke up immediately after they heard what was being passed off as the "official story". They knew then that "someone" was not telling the truth. Piercy has been fronted out on numerous lies, can we agree on THAT? And he is still on the job. That to me is wrong. Not for you though, right?
