They are pulling the lake back down again, so actually your clearest, warmest and freshest water will likely be near the backends of creeks/coves. And it's time for the big girls to show up there, so stick to the back ends, move about QUIETLY, and break out your best pitchin'skills. A big texas rigged 4" tube with a 3/16 worm weight shoved up inside it is an easy bait to "shoot" back into the sweet spots and the fish hold onto it real good.

Greasy, I was and it was nice. Everyone else is either out catching crappie or out chasing green bass around.

Wapsi makes a chenille called "Black coffee" that is black/brown variegated and it is a solid producer. Go brown on the legs.

Your local Orielly auto parts store either has in stock or can order Teleflex cables. Just get the number off of your old cable(s). -

Piddled with some crappie a little bit. Bunches of 10-11 inchers on the banks. Got sidetracked when the Whites started running. Y'all can have the specks, they don't fight worth a hoot.

You don't see the youngsters because they are doing 70 mph and wearing buffs. But they are out there.

Agree with your last statement. There is a definite place for competitive fishing but it's kinda stupid when everyone with a bass rod or 3 has to be a bigtime tourney dude. It is overdone and has gotten old.

No advise on how to fix it until you locate where it's leaking. Inspect all your rivets, and then check the livewell hoses, pumps and connections. How bad of a leak is it? Most all aluminum boats leak a little, but if you are having to pump it out 4-5 times a day then it would be good to find the source and repair it.

Since I can't see the bottom fin I was just going by the color. I've never seen a Blue that greenish brown, but whatever. Nice kitten either way.

It's eerily quiet on Lake O also. Doesn't seem like the crowds are as excited about it as they used to be. Can't imagine why.

The torque wrenches are the dustiest tools in my shop. Jus'sayin'.

A torque reading on the prop nut has no correlation to the amount of pressure applied to the back side of the prob hub. If you wanna torque your prop, then that's fine. But for those without a torque wrench, you CAN successfully remove/install a prop.

There is no benefit whatsoever to cranking your prop nut down to 100 ft/lbs. Just snug it up firmly and set your pin or locking tabs. This allows the hub to do what it is designed to do.

Yeah but those beings didn't "request it". It's different if you have no choice in the matter. Plus, their co-horts don't dress up and make a big ritual out of it.

I've always thought the whole spreading of ashes thing was kinda gross. Keep your nasty old dead carcass out of the river. Every time I hear someone say that I get a visual of a charred zombie laying along the bank. Who started that crap anyway? Do you truly think it means anything? People are freakin' weird.

There isn't any more meat on a 12 incher than there is on a 11. The 12's just have bigger heads/tails.

Hmmm. Overheat warning should be a solid tone, not a series of beeps. You can pull the lower unit and backflush to clear the crud. Or fire it up on the hose with the thermo housing off, that should blow out most of it.
