  1. Yeah I wouldn't go in there on a cold Winter day between June and August either. It just ain't worth it.
  2. Do they actually have to DO IT, or can someone just say they did ?
  3. There's a guy here in my town that got charged with unlawful use for firing a "warning shot" because he was pissed about people using his driveway entrance as a turn around spot. The charges stuck because he refused to hire a lawyer. Not sure how much different Arkansas law is, but that's the way it went down here.
  4. I would call and request that he be charged with unlawful use of a firearm, then let HIM request that you be charged with trespassing..... Now the prosecutor has to decide who's right and who's wrong. And they'd better get it right the first time or you could very well be on the road to early retirement. Shouldn't cost you a dime in legal fees if you get the ball rolling FIRST.
  5. How can a stream/river be "deemed navigable" in one county but not in another. Same stream right ?
  6. If you hadn't started drinking beer at 4pm causing you to pass out on the couch before 10pm you could have kicked his azz before he ever got to your wife.
  7. Nope it won't. Wish it would! It works on trout if you like them skinned. I prefer the skin left on trout though so I just gut them and whack the head off.
  8. I think this is why Phil doesn't tell us he's going to Alaska until he gets settled there.
  9. Direction vs. Perception, once again.
  10. I have a handful of the old Wackerman style (counter-rotating blade inside the main blade). They were great for running beside docks and seawalls because they track straight, don't walk right or left during the retrieve. I forget why I didn't like them but if anyone happens to love them I can hook them up with a few.
  11. The AR excels in an environment where it is dirty/dusty/wet. Tolerances and design are such that they can function dependably in harsh conditions, and be field stripped and repaired easily in your lap with a minimum of tools. That is where the AR platform shines.
  12. Yep ^
  13. Right on. And whoever the original owners kid trades the gun to for a dimes worth of blow will prolly make sure you have some company.
  14. Full auto RIMFIRE is really pretty stupid. If in the case of a partial jam (which is eventually gonna happen) that bolt is gonna slam down on the primer and blow up with an open receiver. I have seen that happen 3 different times when guys (and a kid) were emptying a magazine through the action. Twice on semi-auto's and once on a pump. BOOM! It's pretty scary when that happens.
  15. There is actually a better tool for the job if "increasing your odds" on squirrels is the real reason. It's called a shotgun. The odds of a head shot on anything other than the first round leaving the muzzle is pretty darn slim. Seems like a lot of trouble to go through just to avoid missing a squirrel.
  16. Yeah, so who takes possession of the gun upon your death ?
  17. Is your transducer angle OK ? Hasn't gotten knocked out of alignment? Side imaging isn't affected by the horizontal angle in relation to the hull, but down imaging signals are. Sounds like you are pinging off at an angle and the return signals are only able to bounce back at the transducer when coming upon or pulling away from a more vertical bottom surface.
  18. Yeah that's pretty frikkin sick, especially for an hunting/fishing "outfitter" like Cabela's. Say what you want and call me whatever ya want... But those aren't "sporting arms", they are GIJoe toys for wannabe tactical idiots. They don't call them "guns" or "rifles" anymore. They call them "weapons". Window to a mindset if you ask me.
  19. According to the paddlers guide you can. It states that the "resort" is private though (not an access).
  20. Very nice work ! Now, take it out and get her scuffed up again.
  21. There is certainly no gray area in regards to gravel bars on the Niangua, and if there are (by landowners understanding) then it is self induced. But there may be a gray area in regards to Blue Spring itself since I'm not 100% sure that I can legally travel to its basin....even though the "high water mark" certainly takes me there. Thoughts ?
  22. You're taking it too personal, Justin. It's not "we". We can't control, we can only be controlled. I don't have any say in what is and isn't allowed upon this earth, and neither do you. All my young life I was taught that there WAS someone with the power to control such things for the goodness of all on earth, but turns out that was just a cute bedtime story that got exaggerated and went viral.
  23. Peak popper season for green bass is right around the corner. Something BIG, Yellow and loud tops my list for Fall stillwater bass-bugging. That and a Dahlberg Flashdancer about 4-5" long (white/gold) or (chart./silver). Smallmouth streams require entirely different fly's, rods, and tactics IMO.
  24. Streamer fishing (and tying) took a huge leap forward when we learned how to manipulate water pressure. Flies designed with bulky heads and soggy unbalanced tails have an action that no hard bait or plastic can match.
  25. Totally understandable. I go through phases, I'll gear fish for awhile then switch back the flyrod. Back & forth. But one thing I never do is take both on the same trip. I do get a bigger kick out of a day with the fly gear though, and ripping streamers like you were referring to is a real good way to get some savage strikes from smallies.
