  1. I see vegetation. That can only mean one thing Nice'un!
  2. I seriously doubt that folks will suffer one iota from this show if the Hardy, Ar. folks play their cards right and put their alleged intellectual egos aside for a bit. But an area full of nitwits too "proud" to be called hillbillys, and treating the film makers as such will screw the pooch before it ever gets off the porch. Quit acting like you aren't flattered, and play your part!
  3. I'm betting on a decent shower or three within the next 20 days. Ice will be gone and lake level will be 654-655 Water temp-38-42 Just guessing of course.

Dude! Way ta frikken Go! Blues in your municipal pond? Luckeeee! How big is it?
  5. It's actually up a bit from last week. It was at 653.7 but now 654 and some change. Lowest in 2013 was 655.7 In 2012 it was drawn down to 654.5 I can't ever remember seeing 652 but there were several years that I snowbirded to Fla. so I might have just missed it.
  6. I think it's safe to say that we'll see 652.? before any significant rainfall. Truman doesn't have much to give us.
  7. I remember "river worms", sold at the bait shops, 50¢ for about 2 dozen in a oil can. Cheap enough that digging your own wasn't worth it. And yeah they were some stinkin' SOB's
  8. Well Yeah! When Coffey first introduced it a lot of guys were attempting to copy it with eztaz and marabou.....THAT is/was "sub-standard".....didn't work. Where were YOU back in the day? I guess we hadn't invented you yet
  9. Yeah, throw a jerkbait!
  10. Supposedly it was as bad (or worse) in the early 80's but luckily I was living in Ga. at the time.
  11. Yep. So the screw actually came out hu? You must be living right.
  12. Follow the fuel supply line back to the tank. The "nipple" on the fuel pickup fitting may be a A/S valve nipple. Remove the hose, unscrew the nipple (usually 9/16 deep socket or wrench) and see if it is a simple hollow nipple....or a nipple valve. If there are 2 tanks and one has a a/s valve then I'm sure the other one does also, so you'll have to swap both if them. Not a big deal, the straight nipples are cheap at your nearest auto parts store. Just take the valve with you to match up the threads and grab some teflon tape while you're there. Gimme a buzz and I'll talk you through it if needed. 573-569-5406
  13. This is painful to watch... Dude, just get out and WALK! Good grief.
  14. Does KOA even make an electric knife? I searched their site briefly but didn't find one. I don't need anymore standard knives, I'm all set there.
  15. Your '86 shouldn't have an anti-siphon valve, so all ya gotta do is remove the fuel line coupler from the fuel hose and use the primer bulb to siphon it out. If by chance there has been a anti-siphon valve installed you'll have to replace it with a straight 3/8 nipple. The A/S valve looks just like a nipple but it has a ball&spring seat assembly built it in. When your fuel tank is situated below the powerhead, like in a bassboat, then you don't even want it on there, remove it and don't put it back on. Pontoons and deck boats where the tank is above the engine are what a/s valves are designed for.
  16. This thread has made me fish-hungry. It has also reminded me that I either need to spend an hour with a chainsaw file on my electric knife, or break down and buy a new one.
  17. Poling "well" is harder than it looks. From the bow of a river jon I can pull it off, but I tip my hat to the guys that can do it from the stern or center of any kinda craft.
  18. No, it would make it a sub-standard "Sparkle Minnow".
  19. That's one of those nautical terms that I've never heard ....yet immediately know what it is.
  20. You'd think, wouldn't ya? Oddly enough, gravity tends to trump momentum x50 in my experience. Even on a 29'er.
  21. Ok good, well that narrows it down to split squeezin's or leaky plumbing. Neither of which can usually be pinpointed by filling the boat with water, just FYI. I/O's have all kinds of places in/and around the transom assembly where water can get in.
  22. It's melting fast. Should be all gone by tomorrow if more doesn't fall.
  23. Robin's is just up the Glaize from the bridge, on the East side.
