  1. 6ga./50amp breaker will be fine, and that TM should do "ok" for positioning and moving around in "toon'able" conditions. No sense in maxing out the TM since no matter how much thrust you have you still won't be fishing ENJOYABLY in a toon during a windstorm. If you're dead set on using anchormates then a grapple anchor is out of the question, your stuck with mushroom or tri-fluted designs.... without chains. Neither are gonna hold very well in wind or boat wakes unless you let out enough line so they can dig in good, and sadly most anchormates don't hold enough line to do that in water deeper than 8-10ft. If that's good enough for your intended use then your in good shape. You won't want to paint the rails cuz they'll just look like hell after a few outings, but the panels can be dressed up real nice with any automotive or marine spray paint and maybe some decal highlights/trim. As always the quality of the finish is in the surface prep. Keep the paint as thin as possible on any surface that is prone to flex. Lots of ideas for livewells but before I go any further I'm gonna piss in your cheerios just a bit. I wouldn't dump too much time/money/effort into anything that's gonna be supported by the pill shaped Tracker buggy toons with welded braces.....they just don't hold up well compared to "U" shaped toons on Lowe, Landau, SC, type toons, which are what I specifically look for when restoring a pontoon. The little livewell is what came standard....because that's about all the frame is designed to support (in addition to the passenger load. You slap a 30 gal. Livewell on it and it might swamp the first time you stab a wave. Anyone that has ever stabbed a big wave in a toon knows how quick water pressure can rip the whole craft to pieces. I see it all the time. My recommendation for the B-buggy restoration is to keep everything (furniture, batteries, motor, fuel tank, ect.) as light as possible so she floats like a cork. It just isn't a good foundation to be loading up with heavy duty accessories and extra power on.
  2. Do you know how to tell if someone has ever won a respectable sized bass tournament within 5 minutes of meeting them? It's the same way you find out if they are (or ever were) a guide....
  3. I'd do a few like that and a few with more bulk/mass, then let the fish do the choosing. I'm afraid your gonna get alot of suck&blow bites if fished on the bottom. Some extra bulk might seal the deal. Matter of fact I'm 99.9% sure of it.
  4. There's plenty of blown ones out there that can be bought right and repaired.... in the end you'll have a better outboard at a better price than buying someones used "runs good" motor. That "still under warranty" thing you are looking for with the 11,12,13 models is just money pissed away unless you are going to resell immediately.
  5. Yep, that's the place. There's a washed out spot on the upstream side of the old sunken bridge deck and that big flathead has been there for 3 (this will be 4) years that I know of. She's always there 12 months out of the year, even when the water is low and crystal clear. I'm guessing the max depth under that deck is 7-9ft and it really makes you realize that if a fish that size can winter out in a spot like that then the smallies can winter out in much tighter little spots. Maybe even in a 5" crevice in the bedrock 3' deep.
  6. Ok but do you think you can refrain from throwing s#it this time ?
  7. It's as open as it's gonna be, get it on video by all means. I know where there's another one but I don't think she's 50 yet, pushing 30-35 though. She snacks on escapee rainbows and brookies all Winter and is probably the best tasting catfish a guy could stink up grease with. She lurks within 50 feet of where we first met, Chief.
  8. Atta'boy GM ! My work here is done
  9. Good point, request retracted.
  10. Oh Cool, free readings? Do Me Do Me!
  11. Sounds like they need a joint and an assault rifle.
  12. The only thing about marijuana that will kill you is the prison food. LOL
  13. The lighter the better.... as long as it has enough power to get the job done, is what I would want on a shallow rocky river. Here are my thoughts; The prop shaft, drive shaft and gear housing on a 6hp is just as strong as the ones on the heavier 9.9-15, and some 20's and props are a bit less expensive for the 6. Theoretically that should result in less damage when/if you hit something. And you invariably will.
  14. Marijuana isn't soley useful for smoking either.... still illegal to possess.
  15. There was a time when a 6-7.5 hp was the popular motor of choice for the White. Has that changed?
  16. There is a bit more to assault rifles than looks and magazine capacity, and I'm surprised that y'all don't know that. The biggie is in the way they are designed to dissipate heat and deal with wet and/or gritty conditions and keep fuctioning at a rapid fire pace. You can slap a 30 round clip in a BAR or a ADL all ya want....but chances are it will freeze up on you before you empty the magazine if you squeeze them off rapid fire without a cooling down period.
  17. I don't think it's where they are made as much as where they originated from..... I'm out on a limb here but I think it is safe to assume that the development didn't begin as a thought that came to someones mind while in a tree stand, a duck blind, or at a target range. For someone to pretend that they just can't understand why some people see assault type rifles in a different classification than sporting guns is pretty lame. Everyone, especially the folks that own or want to own them, know darn well why.
  18. Old fire hose attached in loops. Lasts forever.
  19. The bottom 10" of water in a 3' deep fast riffle can be a killer holding area. One such spot on the lower Niangua holds smallies consistently. Stand at the top and hold a #2 Flash-dancer in the current, twitching it occasionally ....and they'll dart up off the bottom and cream it.
  20. Probably be ok for a guide but I wouldn't use it for bunks unless your supports are fairly close together.
  21. Rule #1. There are no rules.
  22. Never been into trolling myself but I've rigged out several nice boats for the purpose. The one I am most proud of was a 18' Lund deep V with a 115 Johnson/ and 9.9 long shaft kicker with sandwiched control boxes and steering link. 24v Auto pilot TM on the bow and 5 seat pedestal positions. On a Roller trailer with remote controlled 12v winch. Everyone that fishes out of that boat absolutely loves it. Comfortable, roomy, stylish, and can handle any kinda water from the gulf to the great lakes.
  23. I know that look...
  24. Another trip sans pup. How do you even sleep at night?
