  1. Sally Palm and her 5 lonely sisters? 😒 Awe, poor guy. Keep the faith and maybe the 7 virgins are awaiting. πŸ‘
  2. Whether it's a pork chop, or a container of day old taco meat.....if it's in my presence it's gonna get consumed. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ Probably why I've been twice divorced.
  3. Well that wasn't the intended message......but that would probably work just as well. 🀣 Our wives truly don't want anything to do with us UNTIL they discover that someone else might......Then, magically we become freakin' IRRESISTIBLE!!!! 😍 BTW: You young bucks need to be paying attention here πŸ‘
  4. Definitely the dog. πŸ™„ And I've learned that the best way to get that steak tossed to me.....is to get caught sniffing some meat trimmings from down the road. πŸ˜‰
  5. If all you are expected to do is "sleep" then it's probably best to be in separate rooms.....or separate houses. It's inhumane to throw a steak down in front of a dog, and then demand that he just lays down and goes to sleep. That's borderline torture and should be grounds for prosecution.
  6. Yes and No. Fish spotted around cover or structure can often be coaxed into biting, but with suspended fish it's all about TIMING. Throwing repeatedly at them when the timing isn't right will defeat your efforts and screw the pooch, because all you are doing is educating those fish. If you figure out the timing pattern then it doesn't really matter what bait you are throwing, or how you are working it..... you're gonna load the boat. All you have to concentrate on is keeping them stuck until they are in the boat, and then quickly getting another one stuck before the clock stops ticking. The best FFS anglers (video game fishermen) I know never throw more than twice to suspended fish. If one doesn't bite or show genuine interest immediately then they get away from them and try again a bit later. At some point during the day they'll chase and bite with reckless abandon......unless you've pestered them to death TRYING to get them to bite. That's why it's such a crapshoot.
  7. Listen, I've learned that the further away from her cervix I can stay.....the better!
  8. What's serious about it ? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ It gets lower than that every year, for short periods of time, usually not exceeding a month. I actually prefer to fish it when it's on the lower side of its typical pulse. Median flow has meaning to "floaters" who are unfamiliar with the river and prefer to not get their feet wet, but for fishing purposes I pay that lil'tidbit of "data" no mind at all.
  9. It's low, but not "seriously low".
  10. As I understand it there is no operational "gate", so water flow through the tunnel is constant regardless of power generation. Flow over the spillway, and water level at Lake Niangua is unhampered by the generators. They are either online or not.
  11. What's next is that participants are going to realize that a win (or high finish) is something that happens by chance. And not because of any special or specific technique that can be repeated. Kinda like dumping out a cupful of Yahtzee dice. Being recognized for a win only lasts for about 3 hours. Nobody knew them previously, and nobody will remember them tomorrow.
  12. The "Mayor" is upset about prostitution. πŸ™„ Jesus Christ. People are so full of it.
  13. When flyfishing for Whites/Hybrids/Stripers a net is almost mandatory. Not only because they are difficult to handle, but they also love to poop all over the boat.....and it's nice to be able to hold them out over the gunnel until they get all of that out of their system. πŸ˜…
  14. Oh I'm not gonna go cheap on anybody. Those nets are beautiful, and I'm aware of how labor intensive making sturdy net hoops out of wood is. And honestly if you're going to that much trouble you might as well make it beautiful. Wood is definitely the preferred material. Aluminum nets suck. And although I've seen composite net frames that seem fine (Fishpond ect.)..... they are more expensive than they have any business being.
  15. I mean, look at what I've resorted to.... Because this one is a bit much for the Flyfishing rig.
  16. What I can't seem to find is a good sturdy boat net, minus all the artistic bling, at a reasonable price. Can you build one of those for 50-60.00?
  17. Just be sure to realize that REPLACING THE POWERHEAD is not FIXING the problem. He's gonna just blow another one if the over-oiling issue isn't rectified. πŸ‘ Good luck.
  18. Here is what a typical overheat detonation looks like. Notice how dry & gray the piston is? And piston damage mostly confined to the exhaust port area.
  19. Detonation on the exhaust port side of the cylinder indicates a combustion chamber overheat. And the "coking" (heavy carbon deposit buildup) on the piston above it indicates over-oiling (probably from an oil injection pump not being synced properly.....or too much oil being added to the fuel IF the O/I had been deleted). Too much oil can cause an overheat, as excess oil slows the burn....which equals more time that FIRE is in the cylinder. You can tell that it has been going on for awhile......It just didn't completely loose power until the piston rig broke into pieces. If it was a typical overheat (like from a bad water pump) then the detonated piston would be gray and dry looking.... but you can clearly see the wet & black deposits of over-oiling even on the damaged piston. When that powerhead is disassembled there will likely be baked-on (black) deposits ("coking") on the UNDERSIDE of those pistons as well. And that confirms 100% that too much oil has been injected into the crankcase......Either from improper sync of the injection pump, or a oil injection pump that has failed and just fed oil unmetered, by gravity.
  20. I rarely get out during the early morning period, but 2.5 hours before the sky goes dark the "witching hour" begins. You can scan the flats and see nothing.....but then all of a sudden....as if sprouting from the lake floor
  21. Injected I would hope.
  22. Reminds me of that little didy about the young bull and old bull. Young bull says "See all those cows down there? Let's run down there and screw one of them." Old bull says, "No, let's WALK down there and screw them ALL." πŸ‘
