Ya know......disfunctional behavior like that happens because WOMEN latch onto the most convenient guy that will support them, and then they don't break it off when it starts to go bad because......Hey, who else is gonna support me? This is why it's important to learn a trade and to be self sufficient. Anytime you are dependant on someone else you become a slave to their ways. Especially when the only thing you brought into the relationship was a piece of @$$.......that wasn't all that great to begin with....and you don't keep house worth a darn, your cooking skills are lacking, and then you start demanding things. That's a recipe for everything you have described. Just calling a spade a spade here. 🤷‍♂️

They certainly aren't stupid. We had a group of at least 4 around our place a couple years ago, they rooted up a power line clearing and tore up a neighborhood dog that got after them. A guy up the road shot just one and nobody has seen the others since. They either move away from pressure at the first sign of it, or they get real-REAL good at keeping hidden.

Fishing/boating gear, yard tools, water toys, furniture, appliances, and of course clothing are mostly what you find around here. Restaurants, bars, motels, and condo associations get involved in it also, so actually there is lots of nice stuff that can be bought really cheap. Some serious bargains can be found, I just hate the process of picking through it all. And you always run into someone, at every stop, that wants to socialize and just stand and talk all day. It's torture. 😏

Yeah, most of these guys around here that are packing 24/7 can be found at the bar or the Elks lodge after 5:pm, and making their way home after 10:30 - 11:00 three sheets to the wind. As long as there is one of a few select last names in your group......you have nothing to worry about. 🙄

Indeed it does. But of all the things that CAN happen, the gun toters of society are only prepared for the least likely thing to actually happen. And in truth, they aren't even PARTIALLY prepared for THAT.

In my mind, anyone who carries a stupid handgun everywhere they go to allegedly "protect themselves" has a screw loose. If "protection" is the main goal then why don't they own a vest and a helmet ? Because if you're the first one to touch off a round..... you've pretty much just committed suicide.

My ex-FIL had an old Navy survival kit that had a few flys in it. A black gnat wetfly and a yellow wolly-worm, both had red tails, and some silk line. The oddest thing in the kit was a wooden matchbox with 3 little brass rings in it that had sharp edges on one side. Any idea what that would have been for? He had no idea what their intended purpose was, but he had seen a guy use them once to close a bad cut (in lieu of stitches).

If y'all have a genuine hard-on for the old 5'6" rods just follow the Lake Ozark area happenings, and twice a year (spring and fall) they have what they call "townwide yard sales". Camdenton will have theirs, then the next weekend it will be Osage Beach, then Sunrise Beach & Laurie. You could run around in a few days and fill your truck bed with good ones for 15-30.00 apiece. Don't bring your wife though, or you'll go broke.

Gun laws are clear as day & night in the constitution. The shinanigans being attempted to dipsy-dive around them should be done on SOMEBODY ELSE'S dime. Not the taxpayers.

We had a very deranged, battered and bloody 19 y/o kid show up one night at 2:15 am that kinda freaked us out a little bit. He was yelling and making no sense at all. Me and my dog met him on the porch. He had crashed his mom's Explorer, was scared and cut up pretty bad. He went to the first house he saw with any lights on. Good thing I'm not the type to just open fire on him, hu? It took 20 minutes to get him calmed down enough to tell us his parents phone number. We have gotten a Christmas card from them every year since. 🙂

You ask....."Can I help you?"......and then they'll probably tell you. If you're concerned about some psycho just randomly busting in and immediately opening fire, then you need a good dog babysitting you, so that you (and they) can meet them on the porch before they can even get to the door.

I'm not shooting nobody. I don't wanna bloody mess to clean up. And the lawyer fees plus the lost time it would take to defend myself afterwards are likely to be more than it would cost to replace whatever they stole. So if you can get past the dog and still whip my @$$ then you can just have it. Whatever it is, is probably insured. I've seen how this "defending your property" crap works in this area. 🙄

I haven't seen anything close to 20" come out of Bennett for quite awhile. But as soon as Shepherd starts hauling fish up there that will likely change.
