So ticks are born carrying Lyme, Ehrlichiosis, and RMSF ? If so, their numbers far exceed the number of Covid positive infectors (at least x10+)......so I still stand by my statement. Would you rather consider mosquitoes and Bird flu/west Nile/Zika/Malaria ?

Name 2 of them. I can't, for the life of me, think of a single person that used to post frequently, but is now gone, except for WayneSWMO, and he didn't leave by choice. I'll tell you a little secret (about me)....Alot of the BS that I put on here really isn't because I'm a genuine douchebag 😂 It's because people come to my place who never post on here....but read the content faithfully. They, for the most part, either think I'm a real hoot! Or they hate my guts for the first 3 minutes they are here, then ease up quickly. It kinda breaks the ice, in a fun kinda way. It's a quicker route to friendship when approaching from the opposite direction....IYKWIM. I learned that during my online dating phase. The quickest way to get laid by a gal on a dating website is to immediately piss them off (mildly), then confidently do the needed "clean-up". Nobody trusts and relaxes around a person who is always kissinass and being annoyingly proper. 😊 I'd rather greet someone that is pulling in with an attitude, than to greet someone who is all uptight and being phoney. We all cuss, fart, hock loogies, and call each other Pricks and Dickheads. The sooner that 2 guys, meeting for the first time, get to that point....the better.

Well, I said that I would report back after today....so here's how it went for me... After helping 14 rigs get launched the ramp was a literal sheet of ice, not a single dry strip to keep a tire on, so I went back to the house and took a nap 😅 I kept an eye on the patio furniture on our deck and as soon as the skiff of ice melted off of it I ran back down, launched, and proceeded to try to figure something out. Water temp was 48° when I launched, and had warmed to 53° in certain spots by 3:30 At 10:30 the fog finally burned off, and I located a bunch of active short fish along south-facing seawalls that the sun was beating down on. Caught a few on a jerkbait, a few on a hula grub, but the best bait was a 3/8 swim jig with a Swimming Fluke trailer, and the bites were coming 7-9 reel cranks from the seawall in 3-8 FOW. After 15-18 fish were landed...none of which were keepers....I abandoned that and went in search of some better average fish. Tried a variety of things, but beings as how I had such a late start I wasn't in the mood to travel very far. Nothing was working for me, and with only 2 hours left before weigh-in I decided to go back to the "sunny seawall pattern" and just milk it for all it was worth until time to head back for weigh-in. Made 3 passes on every productive stretch trying different baits and different depths, but the most consistent thing going was still the Swim Jig worked out to 10ft. or less. Caught a good number of fish.....but not a single 15+ incher. 4 limits were weighed in, all by guys Livescope'ing the sunny side of points and offshore brushpiles (video-game fishing), likely near release areas, 8-18 FOW. Took 15.0 to win, and BB was 5.31 2nd place was 14.42 3rd was 11.45 The rest of us all donated.

How so? Thousands get bitten by ticks....and a few die, or get extremely ill. Thousands get infected with Covid.....and a few die, or get extremely ill. Relating the infection to the amount of severe reaction isn't really THAT insane, is it? If everyone in the country played in the woods equally then the numbers would likely be parallel. You REALLY think I'm crazy for thinking that? Seriously? 🤔

I thought the tick bite analogy was pretty spot-on. How rediculous was it, actually?
-
Who here didn't have "Sea Monkeys" as a kid?
-
Absolutely.😊 Not only that....If at anytime it ceases to be FUN, and begins to resemble WORK.... I'll forget that I'm trying to win anything, and just go load up on White bass or Crappie. There's no shame in loosing to a bunch of livescope junkies. 😅

Water color, surface disturbance, and the amount of sunlight penetration has alot to do with it. The water temp may have read the same... but think about the temperature of the dash of your truck on a cold sunny day. You can easily melt a Snicker's bar in mid January.

From a performance standpoint any loss of material there is bad news, because it increases prop venting after the correct thrust washer is installed. Depending on the design of the gearcase it may just be damage to the bearing carrier and not the actual gear housing itself. Some bearing carriers are held in place by a "spanner nut", and others are held in place by external bolts. If it is the spanner nut design then damage there can prevent reassembly of the gearcase, should it ever need to be disassembled for repair or resealing. Whoever installed the prop, and then didn't check it for clearance.....needs to be kicked in the nuts ! 🙄

And thousands have tested positive for Covid without ever being sick. Maybe tick bites are the vaccine. Could it be that all the people dying from Covid haven't had enough tick bites?
-
I was referring to EMBEDDED ticks. Nobody counts the ones you knock off that are just crawling. 🙄
-
I don't think you can go wrong with that mindset. If given one color of swimbait/jerkbait/crankbait I'll always choose something with a pearl belly and a dark gray, blue, or black back.
-
Seriously? Of all the crazy crap that I've posted here, you chose THAT as the most bizarre? I think you might need more than a Covid test. 😂
-
Pretty rig 👍 What's the price?
-
How could you possibly know that. Not everyone that gets bitten by a tick goes rushing off to the hospital/clinic. I tested RMSF positive, and would have never known had it not turned up in a blood test for a totally unrelated issue. I studied everything I could find on RMSF and I had never experienced a single symptom that was listed. They tried their damndest to start me on "treatment" for it (very expensive) but I resisted. That was almost 8 years ago. Still not a single issue.

So 1 in 100 are dying. And of those infected, probably only 1/10 of those are actually dying strictly because of the Covid. Don't ya think that's a more realistic way to look at it? So if 1000 people got bitten by ticks, how many do you think might be near fatal? At least 1 right? Yeah. So what were you saying? 🤔

I've got an empty seat if you wanna come take pics and help me load the livewell. 7:00-3:30

V8 cans are the perfect plinking target. Just about the same size as a squirrels head. 😊

If a person feels good enough to be out running around shopping and carrying on, then I'm not overly concerned about catching whatever sickness their body is invaded with. I kinda see this whole thing similar to a tick bite. You and me probably pluck off a dozen ticks a year.....but your neighbor might get one tick on them and darn near die. I don't see anyone loosing their mind about THAT.
-
If you are getting some bites on the lipless bait then by all means experiment with it. Personally I've never been on a good late Fall/early winter bite with it.....but if I was getting some bites on it I sure wouldn't throw it aside. I've only been out chasing Whites lately so I'm kinda stupid right now on what's catching the green fish. The dock talk I'm hearing lately is all about jerkbaits, A-rigs, and swimbaits. I'll know more about the bass bite Tuesday because I'm fishing a derby......Going in blind 🙄

I think the poor oral hygiene has a lot more to do with it than the masks do. Pretty sure that's what I said (and it's what they said). So is it your position that masks don't compound the problem?
-
It doesn't take long to establish/eliminate a backend cove bite. Always worth a try. Typically bass are along channel banks, on offshore structure/cover, or suspended out in the middle of nowhere during this time of the year. In the northshore area sometimes the stretches of bank that have no docks, or the places where there are larger gaps between docks, are more productive. Shade tends to become less important and less desirable to bass when the water temps are falling.
-
Well for starters I don't think anyone is claiming that it causes DEATH. Doctors, dentist's, and EMT's don't drive to work with them on, and don't walk around with the mask on all day long. The kids in school, my daughter included, are only allowed to remove them during lunchtime. And even have to wear them during the bus ride to and from school. My kid has tender red spots behind her ears from the stupid things......but she LOVES THEM. It's part of her "outfit". She's accessorizing ya know 🙄
-
The way I understood it's because alot of kids don't do a good job brushing their teeth, and the mask makes it worse. I dunno. https://www.oralhealthgroup.com/news/mask-mouth-is-a-seriously-stinky-side-effect-of-wearing-masks-1003954142/
