  1. They do a "fine" job. It's "fine". My insurance company does a "fine" job too. If you pay me 10k to swap out your water pump impeller.....I guarantee a "fine" job. Should the project cost 10k? Let's not discuss THAT, let's just agree that I did a "fine job".
  2. They are the ONLY "prevalent" food item in the spring branch, aside from midges. Yeah there are baetis hatches and grannom's during certain periods, but the scuds are always there. Hatchery fish just take awhile to figure it out. Most guys tie scuds too fat, and too dark. A #18 Trout Crack (041 tan) tied just thick enough to hide the hook shank will get darn few refusals. It doesn't look like much.... but neither does a scud.

    What's Cooking?

I'm the same way about fat on a steak of any kind. I'll pick every little sliver of fat off a pork steak/chop and everyone teases me about it, but I just can't stand the feel of that slimey yuck in my mouth. I don't think we are actually supposed to consume that part of an animal.
  4. Yep, I'm blown away. It's not "slow" by any means (not Winston/Orvis SLOW anyway). They are IM7 blanks which are moderately parabolic but recover from a hard snap in less than 1 second. The 8'6" for 4 lawn casts like a dream but I haven't had it out fishing yet, may take it out for Bluegill tomorrow or Sunday. I'm waiting on the other 2 to arrive and then I'll do a complete review on them all after the White bass start running. Their Sword reels are as good as anything I've ever used. I was initially given a 7/8 reel and was so impressed by it that I immediately ordered 3 more. And their flyline seems great....but may be a little soft and gummy in the summertime, but it sure casts and floats good at our current climate. If you get one do not order the "kit", buy everything separately, as the rod in the "kit" has a cheaper reel seat and lower quality cork. Honestly, if the 6 and 7wt. rods perform like I think they are going to..... I'm gonna buy a truckload of them, and a couple more reels, before we cut ties with China. 😊 How they are producing these at those prices and still making a profit is a mystery. But I'm afraid it can't last.
  5. If you voice any concerns regarding the relentless shuffling of bass, you are immediately catagorized (by the pro fisherman wannabes) as an anti-tournament, tree hugging idiot. There's a handful around here that are reluctant to bring their boats to me for service...,so believe it or not they will have their dad, uncle, or brother drop it off and pick it up. 🙄 Whatever. I've had many conversations/debates about it, and so far nobody has answered my favorite question, which is simply......If the amount of fish relocation going on NOW is not a problem, then at what point would you agree that it was? Where can the line be drawn? Even MDC elects not to reply to that question.

I can't do shrimp. It's not the taste that turns me off so much, it's the texture. Guess if I ground it up into a spreadable consistency and ate it on a Ritz..... Love clams though, go figure 🙄
  7. Just keep your waders on. 😊
  8. Awe😟 Don't say "never will". That's where I'm taking you to lunch after we go slaughter Whites next month. The food's excellent 👌
  9. Do it! There isn't a single package of little dinosaurs left in my 5 county area. I'm hoarding them like my neighbors are hoarding TP.

    What's Cooking?

See! It's a pile of buzzard puke! But I'm eating it. Ness doesn't get any 😜
  11. You can shake your head for 10 minutes.....but can you shake it all day, for 5 days straight, without totally wrecking the nerves in your neck/shoulders? Take 2 days off and then do it again? Because that's what it takes to keep yourself employable. 😊
  12. Well if you want perfect dead center windage zero....then you'd better sight-in windage at your furthest range distance. That's all I'm saying. Aim small/Miss small 😊
  13. Well you'd really enjoy Coconuts pool bar then. 😳
  14. Creek channel banks out of the main current. 2-4' down in 8-12fow.
  15. I'm actually preparing a review of Piscifun's fly gear (rods/reels/line) and I'll just say THIS right now.....These guys have it going on BIGTIME. Been using their Sword fly reels for quite awhile, and just got a 8'6" for 4 Sword flyrod, and have a 9' for 6 and 9' for 7 on the way. Incredible value, and truly top notch equipment. And yes I am comparing to Sage and St.Croix top of the line stuff. Yes it's Chinese..... but hey.... Whatever! 😎

Well I would mind if YOU did....so please don't. I'll leave your cooking thread alone for a few days, so you can have a break. 😘

    What's Cooking?

Tuna casserole is happening here TONIGHT. Pretty basic I think All this plus some frozen peas ....oh and cheese melted on top. I eat it with a side of buttered toast. It looks like buzzard puke though, so I'll spare you a pic of it. 😅

    What's Cooking?

😅. Oh ok, so when you say something looks DELICIOUS..... you're probably just being nice. How do we ever know when you really mean it? Oh wait I get it..... whenever Ness doesn't comment on something that means he thinks your efforts suck. It's the whole Bambi's daddy thing. 🙄 We have to love everything in this thread, or else just keep quiet about it. Piss off with that phoney baloney. Get over it. I'm sure the chicken chowder smelled and tasted yummy (I even said that). It just didn't make me have a foodgasm looking at a picture of it. Go rub your knee, you ol' crabass. 😊
  19. All I know is what I'm hearing, I haven't been out except for here close catching crappie. They say the bass bite is really slow. I feel like I could go out and do pretty good....but it's possible that I'm better off just THINKING that without having to go out and prove it. 😊 I know you could plant corn in the upper Gravois right now.
  20. You're good now. We've had a lot of rainstorms since the last time I was naked in the water anywhere. 😊
  21. JFYI I fornicated in the pool. So if you swam in it..... you're a cocksucker by proxy. 🤣
  22. Aside from true wind effect, even in totally calm conditions, you're very likely to have a significant windage error at long range if sighted in at a mere 50 yards. Consider that 4 clicks is hardly measurable at 50, but is a significant adjustment at 150-200
  23. While that probably works fine (close enough) in most cases, your way better off setting your windage adjustment at your furthest range. A zero at 50 could easily be 2' right/left at 150.
  24. I didn't either. They made the mistake of mailing us our diploma's 2 weeks before the walk.....so my buddies and I were floating the Meramec on "graduation day". We partied at the Finn's motel in St.James. 😊
  25. Can't fault them for being smart I guess. If I could draw a steady check without doing anything, I'd jump on it too. And I'd also think of a way to justify it so my conscience was clear, and so I'd have a rebuttal if anyone ever slammed me for it. 😊
