  1. If I got that practice started it would not work out well for me. Sugarbritches and I have this thing where we never lie to each other, so as soon as she says "Have you seen my _______?", I'd be busted. I can envision fly tying materials and tackle disappearing at an alarming rate.
  2. Are you kidding me? That's a WalMart candy bowl?!?!? I soaked some white bass fillets in it once and she went off like a stick of dynamite! I figured it was something extra special and have been giving it a wide berth if I even walk past it. Now I find out that it's some stupid 1.99 POS from Walmart. 🙄 WTH?
  3. How'd you get my wife's candy dish ?
  4. No problem getting in behind docks for a few quick shots, but getting spun around or backed out so you can go hit another one takes twice as long with every foot of boat it seems. A 16' is perfect behind docks but a 16 may not get you there without getting you wet, so for me an 18' gets the nod. I even hesitated to install a jackplate for that very reason.
  5. I never heard Jordan Lee's story, but back when I ran a 200 Black Max I had a breakdown that forced us to fish all day in the take-off cove and we ended up winning 1st and BB. 😊 Hail the mighty lizard! 🦎
  6. When you buy a new Mercury you are going boldly into their R&D team, and paying to be a part of it.
  7. I knew nothing about business when I started into it on my own, and I still don't, but my dad's advise was to pay nothing for advertising (not a single dime), provide good service/product, treat people fairly, and don't charge any more than you'd be willing to pay yourself. Stay the course and give it time to grow. It seems that all these boat/motor/tackle/accessory companies are in too big of a hurry to "make really good things happen". I'm so proud of Evinrude and Yamaha for not flooding the field with "reps and sponsorships" and annoying the piss out of everyone with BS advertising.
  8. Pretty much. Seems they avoid stuff with thorns, but anything else is fair game. Rose bushes and cactus is the only thing of ours that they don't nibble on.
  9. If we put one of those out in our yard the deer would eat it immediately.
  10. I don't think anyone with experience in different boats will deny that Champions/Chargers ride the smoothest in rough water. But they aren't the most manuverable boats when it comes to fishing behind/between docks, or on a tight and shallow stump flat. If you're truly gonna be the best bass fisherman possible then a boat that does it all well should probably be your goal. That's why I don't understand the popularity of 20+' bass boats with 225+ ponys. There are way better places to fish besides mainlake points and offshore structure 90% of the time.
  11. Well, unless you're an outfitter the only money to be made around there is receiving a retirement check.
  12. How do you become a store manager and not know that? 🤔
  13. Yeah something is ailing that poor fish. Would have been an interesting one to knife, just to see what's going on.
  14. Really? Cuz I'm not. The real kicker is that the guys that end up with pretty fresh rigs at a seriously reduced price will throw an absolute fit if warranty doesn't cover something and they have to pay for it out of pocket. Does bass fishing truly need all these "pro's" to keep the wheels turning? I can go along with a dozen or so in the entire industry.....but hell, there are over a dozen just here in my little po-dunk town. It's rediculous.
  15. I learned to focus less on boobs and booty, and more on hands and knees. 😎
  16. How did Smithville Marine get themselves wedged in that deal? Guido always worked through Sport Boats USA
  17. Your minister teaches Karate ? That's awesome, and a great idea!
  18. You're drunk! This ain't the hooker thread! 😂
  19. Yeah! A big FAT one.
  20. I'm a total novice, but I'm trying to learn. Does mistletoe work like it's supposed to with them? Cause it doesn't work at all around here. I need guidance because I almost made a vital mistake in Orlando once. If it hadn't been for one of my more experienced buddies saying "Dude, that is a man" Then I would have really screwed up. I'm not as worldly as you guys that travel far and wide everyday. 😶
  21. Now we know how you have so much time to fish. 😃 Smart man!
  22. Oh I love her like crazy, but I'm not so nieve that I don't realize that once I'm totally broke and living in a van down by the river she'll decide it's time for her to move on. 🤔 I'm only valuable to wife and children for as long as I can keep them happy. It's a delicate balance at times. Any man that claims otherwise is kidding himself.
  23. I can't seem to stop my wife. She's trying her hardest to put us in the poor house and I am like her worst enemy right now. Each year the outlay has to be bigger and more elaborate than the previous one. I hate "Christmas" worse than just about anything. The whole guilt trip thing makes me just wanna bury the checkbook where she'd never find it ...and then get so drunk that I can't even communicate with anyone.
  24. It's true, ain't it? 😐 If nobody had ever bent the lip on a Cordell Redfin they would have gone out of production 20-some years ago. The examples of stuff like that are endless.
  25. I lack experience, but I figure if I ever was to spend any time with one she'd have to be "kind". Ya know, rather quiet, polite, and carry a toothbrush instead of a crack pipe.
