No that doesn't always work. What you have to do is stick their head in your mouth and suck a little juice from their nostrils. Threadfin tastes like Heineken, Gizzard tastes like Busch. If it tastes like that nasty swill from Piney river brewery then spit it out right away, you have a juvenile Asian carp in your mouth!
  6. Why is the plural of Mouse "mice", and the plural of Moose "moose's"? Or is it? Actually I think it's 400 Moose. So when you say "a drawing of a moose" do you mean 1 moose? And when you say "a drawing of moose" then that means multiple moose(s)? We say 15 deer, but we don't say 15 pig, or 15 horse. WTF? 15 elk, and 15 carabou, 15 quail....but not 15 goose. Man, it needs to warm up !
  7. Yep. All things are possible when a badge is involved. Someone enjoying themselves and not bothering anyone can't just get a smile and a wave, there's way too much "polite hate" in the world for that.
  8. Yep, just went and checked it, it froze over as far as I can see, past Mill cr. for sure. In case you're wondering how deep the ice is..... here's a chunk from 40' off the shoreline over a 6 ft. deep flat. Over 10" No fish were caught Lots of creepy moaning and groaning noises coming from under the ice.
  9. The licensing and registering of canoe/trolling motor rigs is better off ignored IMO. The places where you are using it is typically not the type places where the Water Patrol hangs out, and I don't think Conservation agents enforce vehicular issues unless a specific type of vehicle is prohibited where you are using it. If you're on a city lake or something then you might wanna try to license it, otherwise it isn't worth the headache or the cost. Very few canoes come with titles, and getting a title assigned to one is a major pia.
  10. How come you are such a hep cat on lame stuff anyway? Just askin.... WTH kinda question was that anyway?

They've been in here as long as I can remember. One ding-a-ling biologist, years ago, says that Table Rock is as far north as Threadfins are prolific.....and look at what ya get. This is why the crap that they spew, and the things they do drives me crazy.

http://ozarks.uslakes.info/FishInfo.asp?FishID=69 See what these guys say about what the bass eat here... https://www.flwfishing.com/news/2016-10-06-fall-is-on-the-way-at-lake-of-the-ozarks Anybody that says there are no Threadfins here just hasn't been fishing here much, or doesn't know the difference. Here's a quote from Chad Ferguson referring to catching bait on LO
  13. Here's the ice line today on the upper Gravi Been a long time since I've seen it frozen down this far. I expect it will be solid down to the mouth of Indian cr. tomorrow, but then it should start to melt back some.
  14. I came in hot to Stoker's cove years ago, cut the throttle just inside the bouys, and a crazy old man fired a .22 round 3' over my bow. Pretty extreme, and I was tempted to visit his place on land and kick his old butt at the time, but I'll admit that I have never blown through no-wake bouys since.

Instead of you asking one of us LO folk to prove to you that there are Threadfins here, why don't you ask the MDC biologist from this region to prove that they aren't? At least he gets paid for it. Cuz I have a feeling that as soon as I show you a threadfin you're gonna say "oh ok I guess maybe there is a FEW". I have no desire to go round you up a dumptruck load of them, although if I had the time and money to piss away I would go fill a dumptruck and have them delivered and dumped in your front yard. That would be epic!

Ok, so don't eat raw armadillo, don't french kiss one, or drink it's pee. Got it. What is sad is that we really needed the CDC to warn us about that.

"The victim is in stable condition".
  18. You can get pretty smart if you aren't sleeping all the time. Actually my wife used to tell me I was full of crap all the time..... but she has had to eat those words so many times that now she pays attention. I don't consider myself all that bright, but I am frequently amazed by the stuff that alot of people don't seem to know.
  19. Cuz I'm not blind. I'm fully awake and aware of what goes on around me. It's my duty as a person who is responsible for his own well being, and the well being of his children. And I've been there/done that, and I'm smart enough to know that all that stuff didn't cease to happen just because I straightened MY act up. "A hep cat" That sounds pretty lame. What's even more lame is that I might be telling you something that you don't already know. You might wanna wake up.

Scientists believe that we actually transmitted leprosy to them about 400 to 500 years ago. And now it's us that are too good for them ? Typical. Where armadillos run rampant, how many folks contract leprocy annually?
  21. Straight across from Gibson point, at the mouth of Mill cr. I believe it is less than 260 yards (780 feet)
  22. I don't see any discrimination. They are bringing back the old rule of "you are responsible for your wake" that was once fully in effect, but started getting ignored because people with lots of money didn't like it, and it was inconvenient and sometimes impossible to enforce. They are taking steps to make it more convenient and more possible to enforce. Better than continuing to do nothing.
  23. Absolutely. They need plenty more to do, they spend entirely too much time just floating around talking to their girlfriends on the phone and waiting for someone to give them probable cause for a stop. This will help fill up some of that down time and help us get our money's worth out of them.
  24. At this point I can tell you that there are more than enough people upset about the water conditions here that the lawmen are gonna have to do their best. People complain way more about the insanely rough water conditions than they do about drunk drivers or anything else. There were 17 meetings about it last year where it was standing room only. These elected officials are at the crossroads where they have to do SOMETHING. That's all I know. Whether a video is considered factual evidence or not they can't just ignore and disregard it anymore than they can ignore and disregard video surveillance footage at Banks, Convenience stores, and Wal-Mart, so you WILL get charged. You can fight it in court if you want....but that will cost a hell of a lot more than 25.00
  25. After seeing how CO2 airguns act in the cold, I sure wouldn't trust anything that depends on a CO2 cartridge during cooler weather.
