Osagian (aluminum)? Yeah post up a few pics please.

Yes we are pretty much beyond Wake Boat activity here during the Summer. There's a few that run around in circles inside some of the bigger coves but their use on the main lake is pretty limited. PWC sales have taken a hit as well. About 10 minutes of that is about all anyone's kidneys can take.

Well thank you!

I'm no Johnny hater by any means but something doesn't compute here... #1. I don't believe there is anyone working at TM that can (or will) R&R a crankshaft, so their protocol would be to replace the powerhead......and they can't sell him a powerhead for 2200.00 or they would be loosing money. Quite a bit of it. #2. If by chance they CAN (and will) do a crankshaft/bearing swap then there are no parts involved in that procedure that should equal 2200.00 Not even close. Furthermore, a pending crankshaft bearing failure rates right up there with the most impossible thing a tech can catch before a complete catastrophic bearing failure occurs. A tech saying "hmm I think you might possibly have a crank bearing getting a little rough" is the most obsurd thing I can think of. It either has a bearing out and there's no question about it....or it doesn't. Crank bearing failure on a V6 Merc is pretty darn rare, I've only seen it happen once in 26 years (and that was the upper main bearing on a saltwater motor that had obviously overheated several times). Broken cranks and connecting rod bearing failure following a piston failure are another story. But obviously that's not a possibility or they would have told him he had a compression issue also. And finally #3. A rough crankshaft bearing would not cause hesitation on acceleration....which was the original complaint. Sorry about the long post, this kinda stuff fuels me. 😁

I'm not ready for jeans, waders, and zipped-up long sleeved jackets just yet, so please don't bring that crap back home with ya.

Sorry but I did not get the message. What you're saying regarding the crank shaft bearing doesn't add up. (2200.00 for what?) and how did they determine it "might have" a crank shaft problem ? I have a good crankshaft w/bearings for that powerhead that I can sell you very reasonable.....IF it truly needs one. Gimme a call if you want. 573-569-5406

Cleaning out the closets has turned into "We're having a yard sale". I don't have to be here for that though, so I'm gonna spend Sat and probably Sun on a river somewhere fairly close.

The ones I have caught shallow lately have been pretty nice, fat and healthy, but the bites are few and far between. A good cool rain should get 'em rockin'.

Now we're talking !!! Thanks for chiming in.

Gotcha, totally agree and I would too. The point though, is don't you kinda expect some durability with items that come at a premium price? Maybe a replacement warranty like fine fishing rods have. Premium eyewear should withstand the things we active folks do, like getting smacked in the face with limbs, crashing mountain bikes, sweating and wiping off our glasses with a greasy shirt tail. That's what I expect a quality product to withstand.

This thing where you insinuate that there is any worshiping going on really pinches a nerve. I appreciate, probably more than anyone else here, a guy that speaks his mind and isn't afraid to say what he truly thinks, because that's me 100%. So it bothers me just a little that you might think I worship Al, or anyone else. Hell I don't even worship the deity that almost everybody else in the country does, nor do I worship his adversary because I don't believe in his existence either. Bottom line......I ain't buying the measurement discrepancy cop out, I'm curious what the real problem is. It's now a psychology experiment. 😀

For the most part I'm inclined to think that college is a waste of time and money for most. Life plans lack direction too often. My daughter is persuing a double major, environmental law, and engineering. Hunnerd bucks says she'll end up as an outfitter running a campground, or getting into real estate. Likewise we have English majors with Landscaping businesses, and guys with law degrees selling cars. College should be reserved for hands on training.... surgeons and metallurgy, and not "book learning". Hell what can you learn in college that can't be learned on your own as long as you have a computer, a credit card, and the motivation to succeed? That piece of paper is nothing more than an attendance certificate and a receipt.

Rough fish removal a good thing? NOT SO FAST

Mrs. Paul's had a recipe on the box that was called "buffalo popcorn fish", but as far as I can tell it has always been minced Pollock. The "buffalo" part was in reference to the SEASONING not the fish. Nobody needs to be eating any nastyass buffalo. Roadkill gopher is much safer. http://www.fieldandstream.com/blogs/wild-chef/2013/07/why-you-should-pass-buffalo-fish-0 http://www.wgem.com/story/24719802/2014/02/Thursday/health-officials-urge-you-to-stay-away-from-buffalo-fish Gopher is so dang good that they'll eat each other. http://billingsgazette.com/lifestyles/recreation/out-there-cannibalistic-gophers-risk-death-for-roadside-meal/article_20cfde0c-3fb4-11df-84bc-001cc4c03286.html -
Holy crap. You mean to tell me that if he had never mentioned any numbers in his posts that you would have never gotten all bent? Who knew it was all about the math ?!

Imagine that! 😀 oh, and I googled Fishinwrench and the part where I told you to STFU must be buried way down below my old 2001 Riversmallies.com posts somewhere. My kids will be sick of reading my crap way before they get that far.

A few smallmouth flies

Oh is that marabou? I thought it was half a rabbit. Should cast ok then. I also had a 2am epiphany to whip up a double Flash dancer. This sucker oughta wake 'em up. My whole family appreciates it when I stack hair at 2:00am -

That bottom one looks like it would cast like a wet pair of pantys. In other words.... I'd definitely sniff it before tying it on because you'll likely never see it again. I'm on a Game Changer kick -

I wish you would have given me that idea before the kids got home. Would have salvaged an otherwise completely wasted day. 😝 -
You'll disappear long before that happens I bet.

I get it, I'm just seeing whose hackles I can raise today. It's either that, work on a 4-stroke Merc that won't push itself on a trailer, or mow the yard. Fishing today is out of the question for some stupid reason that only makes sense to a female who is reorganizing closets today. 🙄 -
I don't see the "self promoting" part, as Al isn't in the business of impressing anyone anymore. He doesn't have to, it's already been done YEARS ago and nobody can deny that. I get accused of self promoting from time to time. "Oh he's just on there to drum up boat work for himself". Biggest crock of bull ever since I make it a point to piss off everyone except the impossible to offend types that I wanna be friends with, and everybody's money spends the same. It's like a vetting process. Al has some pretty good writing skills, and you don't have to appreciate what he is writing about to recognize that. It would be more interesting to ME if he put that dam homemade crankbait down and started hucking streamers with a 7wt. but hey, it's what he is into and passionate about. Worthwhile content without a doubt, so STFU Snoop, or come up with something more entertaining to post about on here. Post something that will make your kids smile when they Google "thewhitesnoop" long after your dead. Knowhatimsayin?

I knew you were a Carp Clicker! Lucky? You're bass fishing....hoping to get lucky and catch a Carp. WTF right now? 🤔 -
This is quite a crusade you're on, Snoop. How do you feel about self promoting Carp fishermen?
