  1. The bass should be around brushpiles in 10-20',. Worms, jigs, ect. One local bait that does quite well is a Senko on a 1/4-3/8oz. Shakey head and 10-12# line. Brushpiles are easy to find with your electronics, obviously the best ones are going to be on points or near drop-offs and ledges. If you get bored with that then you can go Spoon-Jacking the condo docks. For the life of me I can't place where "Hawks landing" is....and I'm too lazy to google it, but I'm guessing it's in the vacinity of the Grand Glaize arm, if so you can go pound on the release fish around Public beach #2. 😁
  2. Culled to 17# this afternoon fishing flukes and hollow bodied frogs in the mats of sawdust and floating debris piled up in the cuts and coves. Talk about a fun way to catch'em ! Middle of the day was best, then about 6:30-6:45 the bite just quit.
  3. Yes I've cleared cookies, signed out, rebooted then signed back in....same deal/no change. Let me be clear, when I said "no biggie" what I really meant was: Fix this and FIX IT YESTERDAY ! 😤
  4. Lots of bugs still on my end. Sometimes I can zip through here with no problems at all, but more times than not the screen freezes up or I loose the ability to access PM's or load images. No issues like that on any other forums so I assume it has to be something here. I have signed out, cleared cookies, restarted my device and all that other crap that never works anyway. No biggie, but if anyone sends me something and fails to get a reply..... that's the reason why. I'm not ignoring you, promise. 😀
  5. Enter the typical Summertime worm and jig pattern. In all actuality the timing couldn't be much better. If you enjoy catching channel cat on dip bait the time is now. After getting a tip from a customer a buddy and I went out this evening and caught 9 nice fat channels in 2 hours. All were caught in the back of one wide shallow cove. I'd bet that you could hit the backend of just about any cove and catch some nice ones right now. Fat, full of eggs, and obviously hungry.
  6. 👍😋
  7. It's been my experience that they mostly come out into the open at night. So maybe a nightly patrol around the yard with a flashlight and a shotgun is in order for awhile.
  8. Again? I beg your pardon, I have yet to defile myself ! 😇 I think the quote is what made it go as a post. My bad. We need the delete post option back so I can effectively censor myself.
  9. Well! That was supposed to go as a PM (the messge board is acting screwy) and now I can't delete it.
  10. Pretty sure that's a pterodactle flying overhead in that top pic. Ok, so I googled.....just for spelling....and this is what pops up. Catchy tune !
  11. Managing for trophy sized fish is done successfully in alot of areas, even in regions that have shorter growing seasons. How it is done? Dunno, but I do know that there are cycles. A trophy lake, in spite of intense management, doesn't just continuously produce hogs year after year after year. It will be hot for a few years then be mediocre for several. Back when we used to fish strip pits alot there was the "rule of 8". The pits that were about 8 years old were the ones where you could expect to catch the most fish over 3lbs. and to my knowledge they never experienced a hey-day like that again, so the age of a body of water apparently has something to do with it. Siltation, weed growth, and water chemistry is not something you can easily manage.
  12. Man, the attire of that era always cracks me up. By the time you could get one of them gals out of all that clothing you'd be too tired to do anything. It's no wonder why the sheep and pigs got harassed as much as they did. 😀
  13. The fact that his fishing license was revoked indicates that he did indeed purchase one, so you gotta at least give him credit for that. Once they took his license I guess he figured if he was going fishing anyway then he might as well LOAD UP since he was gonna be in trouble whether he caught anything or not.
  14. The top pic is actually a rail car being loaded with SHAD FRY, and in the bottom pic they are filling cans with fresh water during a PALID STURGEON transport......but hey, if you want it to be about CARP that's fine. https://reefs.com/2014/09/15/history-fish-transport-neosho-national-fish-hatchery/
  15. They are homing in on all that slaughtering that goes on around there. There is a constant whiff of fresh goose, duck, turkey, ect. in the air. Just sayin'..... They wouldn't be around if they didn't think there was something around there to eat. That one looks pretty well fed too. 😀
  16. Yeah, and if you're gonna poach you'd be smart to do it by gigging since 99.9% get away with it easily. If just 10% of outlaw giggers got caught I think you'd feel differently. Is it possible that the reason you deny their impact is because you never hear of any of them getting caught? I promise you that they do indeed exist.
  17. The fish look 1/2 rotten, who would even want to eat them? Especially after those two Homie's got done butchering them. I wouldn't trust a hotdog cooked by either of those dildos.
  18. Suzuki's and Honda's are a problem around here, their marine dealer network is weak, neither company will share tech info with service centers who are not dealers, and nearly every part I order gets backordered from Japan and takes 5-8 weeks to recieve. They are good motors but unless you have a dealer close by (that will stay in business for more than a few years) I wouldn't want to own one. I have a tech buddy in Australia and he says it's the same situation down there. They seem to be the strongest in LA, MS and FL.
  19. I fished (practically lived on it) MT during its early years and it was fabulous. I moved to Georgia for 4 years and when I returned it was immediately obvious that something had went bad wrong. Even though I was a better fisherman with a better boat I couldn't even come close to the success we enjoyed before. Eventually I just gave up on it, and a few years later moved to Lake O and haven't been back but 2 times for reassuring butt kickings. So what is it taking these days to win a derby there ? Back in the day you were getting a check with 14, and would undoubtedly win with 17+. I don't ever recall anyone showing up to the scales with 20#.
  20. The more "amateur" the event, the easier it is to do. The question I have, that nobody wants to take a stab at, is that IF no harm is being done at the current rate of fish relocation (almost 60 tournaments per month on Lake O).....Then WHEN could it be considered to be too much ? If not now, then when do we say "ok it's time to cool our jets here, or change our ways"? Whether it hurts anything or not the constant relocating of fish is unnecessary. So why keep doing it? Tournament participants should jump at the opportunity to eliminate the need for fish care during the day, as it takes away the headaches of culling or pampering a fish that is not doing so well, keeps the boat lighter, saves on battery use, ect. I just can't understand why this change is being so hardheadedly resisted, it makes no sense to me.
  21. Gotta call BS on that one. For the most part the White bass should be in the upper reaches of the tributary arms still. There is plenty of lake available to escape an algae bloom and White bass are more than willing to migrate whatever distance it takes to find suitable water conditions.
  22. Carp are just Carp. Anytime you have to work so hard to convince people how great something is.... there is a problem. Folks that are into chasing carp are always working to convince others why they should too. It's as if they'd feel more at ease with their passion if more folks felt the same about it. Given the choices I have in fish species to persue I place carp only a notch above gar, who are also plentiful, tasty, and fight like hell.
  23. I certainly don't support it getting as big as BASS TOURNAMENTS currently are, that's for sure. We pay a group of allegedly brilliant people to "manage" our fisheries, but sadly all they do is throw down a set of (one size fits all) rules and only lightly punish the ones who don't follow them. There is no way on God's green earth that one specific set of regulations is best for all bodies of water, but I guess that reviewing them independently is just too much work.
