  1. I've heard two accountings on the dock. One said it took out 4 docks and came to rest near Bridal cave. The other says it took out 7 docks and was now anchored at Bridal cave. My guess is it hit 7, demolished 4, and is currently lodged in a pile of busted up docks within sight of BC.
  2. The current is ripping pretty good there. It will take some serious horsepower to coax that puppy around.
  3. Hwy 54 over the Niangua. By HHT/Kinderhook
  4. Hey Rick, if this makes it under the bridge it's headed your way.
  5. As hard as I try I just can't feel sorry for lakefront property owners. I gave my lakefront property up and moved to 2nd tier after realizing the cost and possibilities of maintaining a dock, ect. Surely the ones that are richer/smarter than me have calculated this into their plan. Just another leaf to rake, right?
  6. I was wondering the same thing. Back in 1993 they were scooping their dead carcases off the parking lots after the water went down.
  7. If he has lived there very long he should be used to that. The water has been higher than this before, right ?
  8. What the hell? Who keeps jumping in it and needing rescued ?
  9. I always thought one of the Wart's greatest moves was that it would back up off a snag when you gave it slack. I'd be afraid that adding any weight would alter that....unless maybe if the added weight was on the underside of the lip directly under the line tie. And yeah, Oldplug I didn't care for the suspending Warts either. Guess it depends on how/where you are fishing them. A wart is a niche bait for me, only fish it banging along bottom from the bank out to 5-6'.
  10. Who had to be rescued ?
  11. Gonna be a sale on Fords ! Hard to believe there was nobody available to move those vehicles when it started looking iffy. Good grief !
  12. It was terribly slow for me Wednesday but the ones we did catch were tight to the bank. They might be schooling up because every time we caught one we'd catch 2-3 in the same area. All shorts except for one 2lber. It might be best to burn down a bank with a crawdad crankbait until you catch one, then work that immediate area with a variety of stuff.
  13. I wanna say that Yes the park is open. What a great day to be there too. I'd be really surprised to hear that it's closed.
  14. I only work 2 basic patterns this time of the year, on any given day there are fish either milling about on steeper rocky banks eating crawdads or 20-30' off the banks/points eating shad. So basically Jigs, Jerkbait, A-rig. Since you're close to Linn cr. you might as well fish around there. No other area of the lake is any better really.
  15. The Mann's 15+ and the SK 5XD run about the same depth on an average cast. If you threw the 5XD on 10# I think you could hit 15 on a long cast. The Mann's cranks fight you back so hard it makes it difficult to feel bites I think. But that's what it takes for a crank to get deep FAST. The more resistance you feel the harder it is diving.
  16. Can't speak for your walleye but White bass and Stripers are notorious for puking up their stomachs during the fight.
  17. Dude ! Santa Clause ! He's watching!
  18. Find an old fiberglass blank and cut a 3" section that will fit inside the break. Drill a hole in the rod butt and slide the "ferrule" into place tightly. 2ton Epoxy and wrap over it. That's the best you can do.
  19. Right on. You should try those chubs, they might fry up pretty tasty. Ya never know.
  20. Another not touched on plus for flouro is that it has a much longer shelf life than mono. I can spool up a reel that doesn't get used much and know that the line is still as good as new 6-7-8 months or even a year or more later. The copoly that I currently use is the same in that regard, it just doesn't deteriorate with age or with exposure to sun/heat/cold ect. Ham, the abrasion resistance of the lighter lines is just as (or more so to me) important as it is on heavier lines. I check my line for nicks pretty often and I'm always amazed at how tough that outer skin is. I mean when you can wrestle a fish over a rusty old steel cable and then can't even find a single Nick on the line....That's pretty amazing.
  21. It would take me longer to undo the rubber band than it would to shake a ball of crankbaits free.
  22. What did you catch the Smallie on ?
  23. Very cool. How far down were the bites? Doesn't it drive you crazy when only one fish bites? I mean you know he isn't in there all alone. That happens alot with white bass too.
  24. While you're at it will you do some Stretch tests also? My flouro has just as much stretch at 40' as Trilene XT does. Then maybe if all our dreams aren't crushed beyond repair we can investigate the invisibility of it. The abrasion resistance thing is real tho, promise.
