    Last Fall for yard decoration I bought a giant pumpkin, the thing was as big as a Volkswagon and it sat there until it turned to mush. I noticed yesterday that several pumpkins are growing there. Will it be another giant if I take care of it ?

    Ahh, well if it's one of those (7pm to 7am) 12 hour all nighters I can see the concern I guess. I dunno, I big-time tourney fished for 14 years and I think I only had 3 fish die in the LW. And 2 of those were in cold weather. I've added ice a few times, I think that helps.

    That explains the Ned fad I reckon. What's politically incorrect about saying "gay pride"? It's OK guys, it's 2015 and we can talk freely about homosexuality now. Matter of fact I'll be witnessing my first same-sex marriage here in a few weeks. I'm rather excited about it.

    Well it would suck to have a bass guide trip on LO right now. I fished from 4pm until dark today and could barely buy a strike. This cold snap has given them an extreme case of lock jaw. It's catfish or nothing on this end of the lake.

    I can't digest whole kernal corn either. When eaten off the cob, no problem. Chew your corn !

    The cats seem to be EVERYWHERE. Backs of creeks, along the banks, and out on points. Throw out some Sonny's just about anywhere and you're likely to have one on in no time. Eric, yeah that's my line, but it's hanging from the end of my rod.

    Academy has the Mark 5X pro for 130.00 It's old school=Good stuff/does all of what you really need. I have 3 and love them. I've never liked shooting thru the hull though, always externally mounted my transducers.

    If the Merc has the original (never blown) powerhead then it is a rare duck indeed. 6k wouldn't be out of line but I'm afraid 8 is a bit steep.

    I'm guessing that most bass have completed their spawn, as there are lots of these everywhere.

    Nope, because before the internet there were only a few of us out there chasing them. There actually wasn't much pressure on streams and rivers at all until everyone started crowing about it on the web. There is a TON more guys fishing the rivers WELL now than there was 20 years ago. I can remember when it was rare to see a footprint on a gravel bar, and those days weren't that terribly long ago.

    SB makes a valid point. The only reason SMB fishing even exists in this state is because a lot of us CHOOSE to C&R. If we all kept a legal limit every outing then Smallies would be as rare as Musky in this state.

    Nasty cold front. Crappie are kinda deep (for Spring) and scattered, so it's a crapshoot. Catfish are on FIRE (not that you asked, but it's worth mentioning)

    No no, you're only a WCDB if you have a bobber on. Sight fishing a gut fly is an advanced technique.

    How do you feel about Taxi cab drivers ? You could say that fishing guides are getting paid only for the ride they provide, or the entertainment, or the rental of gear, since there's no guarantee that anyone will touch a fish.
